Apocalypse: Hero of Potato Fields
Chapter 307: This Woman is Called Leia
CHAPTER 307: CHAPTER 307: THIS WOMAN IS CALLED LEIA
Inside the palace.
The woman sipped some wine.
She flashed a dazzling smile at Lin Yi.
"Want some wine? This is from Margaux vineyard, at least fifty years old."
"No, thank you. I never drink on an empty stomach," Lin Yi replied.
He sat down on the armchair opposite her.
The woman still wouldn’t get to the point, she smiled.
"How about some food then? Do you like fish? I’ll arrange that right away! Where did my intercom go..."
The woman started twisting around in her armchair, looking for the intercom that was apparently placed on the table in front of her.
The way she twisted allowed Lin Yi to glimpse parts of her body from at least three different angles, her ample bosom nearly spilling out of her low-cut dress.
Undeniably, she had an excellent figure.
Lin Yi heard Melanie gasp in horror, mocking her shameless behavior.
This woman made everything seem accidental, not only not over the top but also leaving some space for men to join their own fantasies.
"Oh, found it!" She giggled, picking up the intercom, "Sorry for wasting so much of your time... I’m just slightly tipsy..."
"Maybe we should talk tomorrow morning. I don’t know if we can reach a consensus like this."
Lin Yi was not cold-hearted.
In the past months, he had become a complete workaholic, but now this woman’s seduction tactics were starting to take effect on him.
"No, I’m just a bit clumsy. But even drunk off my feet, my mind is still clear... my mouth too..."
She softly said the last sentence, just loud enough for Lin Yi to hear.
Lin Yi reached for a note paper and pen.
"Let’s get down to business. We’ll talk after eating. How much food are you planning to buy?"
"Well... I want to buy a lot, but it’s hard to find a good place to store this food... I have a few ideas, but..."
The young woman leaned over, picked up some documents from the table, and began flipping through them.
She leaned too low, revealing more and more.
"I need my glasses..." she muttered and got up, walking to a small drawer holding some documents and other items.
She walked leisurely, her full figure swaying.
After searching the drawer for about a minute, she finally found her glasses.
Once she put on her glasses, the whole atmosphere changed.
She became more serious, and the carefree aura she previously had vanished.
"Apologies. My vision gets a bit blurry after drinking..." she said solemnly, then carefully sat back in the chair.
This time, she no longer showcased her figure, just looked at the documents and selected a few.
"There’s an industrial freezer and warehouse in the safe zone, how do you need to store your goods?
To ensure long-term development of the camp, we need food that can be stored long-term.
Besides meat, I need wheat to be milled into flour, potatoes store well, I’ll also buy some fruit."
"I think this should solve all your problems, take a look at this."
Lin Yi said, handing her a vending machine cube.
"This is..." The woman’s eyes widened.
"This is a different kind of vending machine. I use it to remotely sell my goods, a hundred thousand coins!"
"I see..." The woman muttered, quickly regaining her composure.
"A hundred thousand coins?! Isn’t that a bit expensive?"
"Don’t you think it’s worth it? Besides, this price isn’t something I just made up."
"Are there any limitations?"
"Initially, only a few items, but once it upgrades, five slots will appear."
"How does it upgrade?" The woman asked as she took notes.
She tied her strawberry blonde hair into a ponytail, draping it behind her to not obstruct her view.
"You have to buy food worth two to three million."
"That’s a huge range... All right, I’ll buy a vending machine, but how often can you replace the items for sale?
I want to buy all your goods through this machine, so it can be upgraded as soon as possible."
"I can manually change it anytime."
"No way to automate operations, huh? Too bad... If it could have different items on certain days of the week, it would be great. Wouldn’t you mind this, would you?" The woman asked.
Lin Yi nodded, there was no way he would entrust the vending machine’s operations to someone else.
The woman then asked, "Could you sell us ammunition at night and switch back to food in the morning?"
"Sure."
"You mentioned upgrading system equipment and charging vaccines..."
The two engaged in a detailed discussion for about an hour.
The woman’s name was Leia, very smart.
Lin Yi found doing business with her very pleasant.
~~~~~~
In the outskirts of Los Angeles...
This once-thriving large port has now been abandoned by the living...
A black dot appeared in the air about five meters above ground. Initially small, but accompanied by an unknown strong wind.
Dirt and debris rose from the ground, swept into the whirlwind, instantly sucked into the black dot.
As it devoured more and more, it grew larger until it became a massive black vortex, roaring as it sucked everything in sight.
The wind grew increasingly fierce, eventually turning into a hurricane.
Attracted by the noise, zombies, trash, containers, crates, fences, doors, windows, planks...
It swallowed everything!
Even a nearby building began to collapse.
But then... the whirlpool suddenly started turning yellow, and gradually calmed down, until it became a massive yellow teleportation gate.
The gate was enormous, and after the wind finally subsided, creatures began pouring out of the teleportation gate... in great numbers!
They formed dense lines, marching shoulder to shoulder, armed with weapons.
They looked somewhat human but had four arms, sharp teeth, and were covered in fur.
The first to pass through the teleportation gate were warriors clad in metal armor, holding large shields in their left hands, and swords and long spears in their right hands.
Next were warriors wearing leather armor, each of their four hands wielding a short, curved blade.
Then came mages in red robes, warriors holding slingshots, and so on.
The troops quickly advanced, swiftly occupying the area around the teleportation gate.
A few minutes later, a group of personnel approached the warriors.
They were of the same species as the warriors and headed towards a temporary camp still under construction.
"Commander!"
A strong, gray-skinned warrior burst into a newly erected tent.
He knelt on one knee and immediately began reporting.
"The second expedition team has controlled the area, all targets have been achieved, with minimal casualties."
The team leader, who had been on Earth for a few weeks, succinctly reported.
"What about the natives here?" a man in a black cloak asked after hearing the report.
His voice gave the team leader goosebumps, sweat forming in all four armpits.
It was a voice full of insidious scheming, coupled with the demand for the strictest discipline.
The great Hira Race to which he belonged had destroyed more than a dozen worlds.
Four of those were destroyed under his leadership.
"They have been conquered."
The warrior proudly declared, "We haven’t infiltrated the other nearby areas yet, zombie activity is too frequent."
"Good, what about the spoils?"
"Yes!"
The warrior removed a pouch from his waist and cautiously handed it to his commander.
"Commander! This world has many skills useful to our race."
"Flame, Archer, Combat Reflex... hmm... not bad, very good... you’ve done well, Gutal. The lord will reward you. But first..."
~~~~~~
In the North Sea, a few kilometers off the southwest coast of Norway.
A joint reconnaissance fleet.
"Commander! Our scouts have encountered heavy resistance and are retreating, requesting fire support."
The person responsible for coordinating the reconnaissance team had just received this message and immediately relayed it to the fleet commander.
"What kind of resistance? How many enemies?!"
"They are mutant creatures, they look like frogs, but have a human appearance.
Armed with crude weapons but extremely strong and agile, and some can even use magic. And..."
The person paused, deciding to confirm whether he had misheard the report.
"They... speak their own language? There... are thousands of them, Commander!"
"What the hell?! Authorize fire support! Damn, a single volley already costs thirty thousand... this expedition has consumed a massive amount of resources..."
The fleet commander complained.
After quickly coordinating with the reconnaissance team, the small fleet began firing toward the coastline, giving the scouts a chance to retreat.
They studied the reconnaissance team’s report repeatedly until nightfall.
The scouts claimed to have accidentally discovered a primitive village, completely devoid of zombies, with rare mutant creature activity.
As soon as the enemy saw humans, they launched an attack immediately.
A brief fight showed that these frogmen were no match for firearms and magic, but there were just too many of them...
Without satellite communication, the fleet commander had to make decisions on the spot.
After lengthy discussions, he decided to raze the frog people’s village to the ground.
"Red alert! The ship is under attack! Red alert! The ship is under attack!"
In the middle of the night, alarms blared, followed by gunshots, explosions, and screams.
The fleet commander jumped out of bed, grabbed his revolver, Level 3 sword, and captain’s hat, and ran to the bridge in just his underwear.
Chaos surrounded him. He rushed into the bridge, only to find it had been completely destroyed.
Blood covered the walls, and a group of creatures devoured something. Seven of them turned to look at this man in his underwear, wielding a revolver.
"Ribbit?" one of the creatures said while munching on the flesh from the first officer’s collarbone.
~~~~~~
Inside the palace.
Leia wore a joyful smile on her face as she placed an old-looking wine bottle on the table.
"How about a drink? We should celebrate our deal!"
"No. I have important things to do. Don’t think of getting me drunk to seduce me. That’s not going to work."
Lin Yi shook his head, completely oblivious to any romantic cues.
Leia sweetly laughed.
As she spoke, she gradually got closer to Lin Yi, her fiery gaze as if wanting to devour him.
"Come on, I can tell I’m your type. Don’t be so rigid.
What’s wrong with having a little fun, hmm?
The deal is already made, so there are no additional conditions, it won’t affect the transaction at all."
