Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train
Chapter 605 - 304: Star Abyss No.5 Corpse Chaser_2
CHAPTER 605: CHAPTER 304: STAR ABYSS NO.5 CORPSE CHASER_2
On the other side, the three of Lin Xian, almost coughing up blood from the shock, had just stabilized themselves. Standing in the air, they looked at the enormous mushroom cloud that hadn’t dispersed for a long time, all with drastically changed expressions.
Lin Xian never imagined that the explosion power of the Heavenly Mushroom Tower would be so immense. They were already out of town, at least forty to fifty kilometers away. If it weren’t for the protection of the Telekinesis Shield, the shock wave alone could have nearly killed the three Frenzy Level Superpower Users. This power was more terrifying than a nuclear bomb.
In astonishment, Lin Xian immediately worried about the situation on the Joint Train. He began to look for directions amidst the vast cloud of flames.
"Brother Lin, look quickly!"
Shirtless Brother Huo suddenly exclaimed.
Lin Xian and KIKI immediately looked in the direction of the voice. They saw, under the gigantic cloud of flames, the corpse chaser finally revealed its terrifying true form in the light. It was a tall humanoid creature like a giant, with tentacles on its head resembling those of a deep-sea octopus, appearing extremely eerie and sinister under the night sky.
It stood among the mountain valleys, its giant tentacles slowly coiling, its skin like that of a mummified corpse, looking like an Evil God from another world!
With the massive explosion in Yijin City, the octopus-headed giant seemed to sense some strange signal. Immediately, it began to turn towards the explosion’s core, the tentacles on its body starting to coil wildly, emitting a thunderous hum!
And in the next instant, it raised its legs, hundreds of meters long, and stepped down.
Boom!
The corpse chaser began to turn, moving away from the direction of the Joint Train’s tracks. Each step came with a thunderous, earth-shattering roar, but something even more bizarre happened. With its movement, this gigantic dark existence began to gradually turn transparent, as if walking into some strange space, disappearing as it walked!
"How... did it disappear?" Lu Xingchen found it hard to believe what he had seen. He was just pleased that the monster had changed direction, perhaps giving the Joint Train a chance to escape. Unexpectedly, after a few steps, it vanished into thin air.
Lin Xian and KIKI also looked on with wide eyes at this scene; none could explain what was happening.
Lin Xian swallowed hard, feeling his hair stand on end. By the light of spreading fires, he saw in the distance a steel dragon racing rapidly along the elevated tracks.
"They’re getting out, hurry! Let’s follow them!"
It’s hard to say, but this strange corpse chaser gave Lin Xian an overwhelming sense of pressure. Moreover, the peculiar disappearance was rather eerie.
Lin Xian recalled the bizarre appearance of the white giant monster back in Jiang City, now experiencing the same kind of feeling.
Even though he was well aware these monsters came with the darkness and Dark Mark, how could this corpse chaser be explained? Such a huge body, could it turn invisible?
Not daring to think much further, Lin Xian only wanted to rush back onto the train quickly, so everyone could hasten their way out of Extreme Night.
With their current understanding, they were utterly unable to comprehend what they were seeing or even deal with such an unknown existence. They could only escape!
Clang, clang!
Clang, clang!
Under the cover of night and flames, the 15-kilometer-long Joint Train sped forward, sparks flying, with an unstoppable momentum, forcefully bursting out of the explosion and collapse of Yijin City.
Inside the over 500 carriages, countless people were injured, all because of the shockwave and the ensuing earthquake. Many suffered perforated eardrums and bleeding due to the underground cavity effect, pneumothorax, and various severe traumas from collisions. A wail of despair filled each compartment; teammates uninjured urgently began to rescue the wounded, clearing shattered debris from the train.
On the side of the Infinity, all personnel wore protective power armor equipped with shock-buffering devices, faring slightly better, but each was still knocked dizzy, while living areas became total chaos. The Sunshine Team, Joker Team, Queen Mo, and Dragon Mountain No.1 faced similar situations. The earth-shattering explosion practically destroyed a whole city in an instant, as if tearing a hole in the sky!
From the midsection onward, the latter part of the train was covered in dust and rubble, as if excavated from the earth. Fortunately, the collapse of stone blocks caused no significant damage to the fully armored steel train, and the anticipated derailment did not occur, a blessing amidst the disaster.
The Joint Train raced through the suburban valleys, accelerating constantly. KIKI, bringing Lin Xian and Brother Huo, swiftly flew through the air, catching up before the train merged onto the northern main track.
And because of the explosion at the Heavenly Mushroom Tower, both the corpse chaser and Abnormal Body vanished rapidly towards Yijin City. The Joint Train fortunately avoided the tsunami-like tide of Abnormal Body monsters, plunging directly into the tranquil darkness.
Lin Xian glanced back, still able to see the blazing Yijin City. The explosion and humming noises were relentless, but moving farther away, these gradually faded.
He inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief; it was a narrow escape just then. Looking at Brother Huo, he didn’t expect that Brother Huo’s idea of detonating the Heavenly Mushroom Tower would miraculously offer the Joint Train a life-saving opportunity amidst despair. He dreaded to think, without the explosion, what a tragic scene the Joint Train would face confronting the corpse chaser and monster tide directly.
