CHAPTER 377: CHAPTER 11 RED STONE HOTEL_1

"If there’s nothing else, then that’s all. Do you have any other matters?"

After Lin Haifeng had gone through a long list of items, he wanted to end the communication.

"Wait, there are some other things," Kuangliu suddenly interjected. His expression was unsettled, but he didn’t elaborate.

However, Lin Haifeng understood Kuangliu’s thoughts perfectly.

"It’s about Fang Bai, isn’t it?"

"Yes!"

Lin Haifeng, on the other end, pondered for a moment before saying, "Find a secluded place."

Without another word, Kuangliu got up and darted straight into the restroom. The sound of rushing water immediately followed.

Seeing this, Wen Yu curled his lip slightly and rose to leave the room.

「...」

"Sir."

Outside the door, Claus stood at the entrance, greeting Wen Yu respectfully.

Wen Yu smiled faintly. "No need to be so formal. I’m afraid I’ll be troubling you quite a bit in the coming days."

Hearing this, Claus grinned broadly and laughed heartily. "Not at all, Sir! Stay as long as you like. I might not have much else, but I guarantee plenty of good food, good drink, and good entertainment!"

It didn’t matter to Wen Yu where he was; he could survive even in the wilderness.

However, Wen Yu was no Ascetic Monk! Before the apocalypse, his greatest wish was to earn more money than he could ever spend, then drink the strongest liquor and sleep with the most beautiful women! Strictly speaking, Wen Yu was a hedonist! And now that the apocalypse is here, I have the greatest strength, so why shouldn’t I enjoy the best service?

Who doesn’t want a better life? At least in Wen Yu’s eyes, Claus’s Red Stone Hotel was quite luxurious, equipped with all sorts of facilities, including plenty of options for eating, drinking, and amusement. Since Wen Yu couldn’t find any quick ways to increase his strength before the demon plague began, he might as well take this time to enjoy a comfortable and indulgent life here.

Enjoyment and becoming stronger weren’t mutually exclusive. Besides...

This might be the last bit of peace Wen Yu would get to enjoy.

For Claus, things were much simpler. Wen Yu was Sequence Number 2. As long as he served this great figure well, he wouldn’t have to rely on Yang Hong and Annie’s moods anymore.

The two of them hit it off immediately, almost like partners in crime. Claus gestured for Wen Yu to proceed with a "please" and began to speak.

"Lunch is ready. It’s a Level 4 mutant bull, with only the choicest, most tender parts selected, prepared by the best chef from pre-apocalypse Las Vegas. Would you do me the honor of tasting it, Sir?"

Claus’s attitude was impeccable. He was offering the very best and still framing it as Wen Yu doing *him* an honor. It might be flattery, but...

Wen Yu liked it!

Powerful experts should enjoy the best; it’s only natural! Otherwise, what was the point of striving for promotions and raises to reach the pinnacle of life before the apocalypse? And what’s the point of working so hard to increase one’s strength after the apocalypse?

The weak don’t necessarily have to flatter the strong, but they must show the strong sufficient respect. That’s how the weak survive!

Whether before or after the apocalypse, the world has always been this way.

And Claus had clearly studied these principles thoroughly!

"Then let’s go! Also, you don’t need to call me ’Sir.’ It’s too formal. Just call me Wen Yu."

Claus, however, looked hesitant. "It’s better to call you ’Sir.’ After all, hierarchy must be observed."

Wen Yu nodded decisively. "That’s fine too. It’s just a title, anyway. I don’t care about such things. Actions are more important than words, aren’t they?"

"Of course!" Claus affirmed with a nod.

"By the way, where’s Jake?"

"He left a little while ago. He left the communicator with Sequence Number 3."

「...」

Lunch was sumptuous, served in the private restaurant on the top floor of the Red Stone Hotel. The surrounding glass curtain walls offered a panoramic view of most of Sin City...

Unfortunately, the scenery outside was a complete wreck and not much to look at.

However, this didn’t stop Wen Yu from enjoying his meal.

Wen Yu had let Cyclops and Star out earlier, and they were now enthusiastically devouring a giant leg of beef.

Claus stood nearby, attentively refilling Wen Yu’s wine from time to time.

Wen Yu’s mouth was stuffed with food. He chatted indistinctly with Claus while rapidly clearing the delicacies from the table.

After a good while, lunch concluded.

Wen Yu let out a satisfied burp and asked Claus, who was standing beside him, "Give me a tour. By the way, where’s Kuangliu?"

"Sequence Number 3 asked for his food to be sent to his room. He’s been in there ever since and hasn’t come out."

Wen Yu nodded in understanding. He probably has some matters to attend to. After all, Kuangliu is currently Cathay’s highest-ranking representative in America, so it’s normal for him to be busy.

"Then we won’t wait for him."

「...」

Strictly speaking, the entertainment facilities in the entire Red Stone Hotel weren’t numerous.

After all, the apocalypse had destroyed the original economic system. Under the current one, not many people would choose to spend magic crystals on pleasure.

Among the survivors, the weak couldn’t afford to spend here, while the strong generally had better self-control and wouldn’t indulge in things like gambling, alcohol, or sex.

Claus led Wen Yu to the fourth floor of the Red Stone Hotel.

It was a massive bar, though, of course, there weren’t many patrons. In fact, the female servants bustling about seemed to outnumber the customers more than twofold!

According to Claus, these female servants all offered "special services." If Wen Yu took a fancy to any of them, he could take them back to his room anytime.

Unfortunately, Wen Yu had no interest in such common fare.

The third floor housed a large gym, which now served mostly as a display. The second floor was an open-plan restaurant. None of these held any attraction for Wen Yu.

Perhaps sensing Wen Yu’s growing impatience, Claus led him to a small elevator.

"I wonder, Sir, would you be interested in a bit of gambling? You know, before the apocalypse, Las Vegas was the world’s most famous gambling city."

"Not interested," Wen Yu stated, shaking his head decisively.

Wen Yu never touched gambling; he had no interest in poker or similar games.

Claus, however, gave him a mysterious smile. "Ah, but there are many kinds of gambling, especially after the apocalypse. I’ve developed a rather interesting game based on a pre-apocalypse sport. I believe you’ll find it intriguing, Sir."

Claus’s words were full of confidence, which managed to pique Wen Yu’s curiosity somewhat.

Before Wen Yu could ask, the elevator stopped with a DING.

"We’ve arrived," Claus said with a slight smile.
