Chapter 286: A Mysterious Group of Robbers
CHAPTER 286: CHAPTER 286: A MYSTERIOUS GROUP OF ROBBERS
"Then you can stay here and see if you will get anything. Everyone who had passed by here to look for supplies has already taken advantage of those soldiers’ presence to leave. What are you waiting for?
Moreover, shouldn’t we go back and let the boss know about the soldiers? If we cross them again in the future, we will know what to do." The man addressed as brother Rong snapped.
He knew that the leader was cruel and would probably punish them for coming back empty-handed, but they had not choice and had to go back and deliver the news.
They didn’t know if those soldiers lived nearby and may clash with them if they didn’t change location.
The group of robbers had four people and when they heard what their leader said, they agreed with him.
Therefore, they all collected their things and untied the motor boat that had been tied to the window of the building they were in, before getting in and leaving.
As the group of robbers rushed back to report to their boss, Gu Fan’s team had already arrived at home. They helped to carry My Nan into the building and Yang Leo asked them to take him to his house. It would be easier to take care of him there.
His parents and sister were surprised to see him bring back a man who was almost like a skeleton. But they didn’t show any disdain, just some pity for his situation.
Yang Leo’s mother rushed to boil water and filled the bathtub in Yang Leo’s bedroom, then put out clean clothes on the bed.
Yang Leo knew that Mu Nan didn’t have the strength to bathe himself so he volunteered to help. Even though Mu Nan was a little shy, he hadn’t taken a bath in a long time and was filthy.
He didn’t want to bring bacteria that could cause diseases to his benefactor, so he swallowed his pride and let his teacher bathe him.
"You don’t have to be shy, we are both men. Also, you need to get clean to avoid contracting a deadly disease or virus.
We had a case of cholera in the building, so we have to be careful with cleanliness. You will also feel better after a bath and a hot meal." Yang Leo consoled Mu Nan while also explaining why he had to stay clean.
Mu Nan was not angry that he was thought as someone who could bring cholera to the survivors here. He was just glad that someone cared enough to help him avoid something that could kill him.
After bathing and getting dressed, Yang Leo had Mu Nan stay in bed while leaning on the headboard. He thought that it was better for him to move less for now until he got some strength back.
Just as he was about to go out and bring him something to eat, the door was opened and his mother came in followed by Chu Miao’s mother.
"Auntie Chu." Yang Leo was overjoyed when he saw Chu Miao’s mother.
He had thought that they would be too late and find that she was no longer available. Now, ay least he was sure that Mu Nan can be healed.
Mu Nan felt the change in Yang Leo’s mood and could tell that he was happy. He wondered who this Auntie Chu was who could make such a serious man change his expression so obviously.
"Little Leo, Lei Ying ran to my house just as we were about to enter seclusion and said that there was a new member of the team that needed saving.
Is it him?" He Yan spoke as a way to reply to Yang Leo’s enthusiasm and also pointed at the emaciated figure on the bed to ask if he was the patient.
"Yes, that’s him. His name is Mu Nan, my best student. He hadn’t had any decent meal in a long time and was dehydrated completely when we found him.
How can he be helped?" Yang Leo explained the situation in one sentence and also sought He Yan’s opinion.
"Don’t worry, it’s nothing some vitality and good food can’t fix." He Yan replied as she had already used her divine sense to examine the situation in Mu Nan’s body.
He was just too malnourished and dehydrated. As she said that, she walked over to Mu Nan and took his skinny hand.
She placed her hand over his and started to channel wood spiritual energy into his body.
Mu Nan felt a warm current entering his body from his hand and could feel his body getting some strength. He felt as if he was a dry well that had finally touched water after a long time.
It felt as if his body was regenerating. And it was a wonderful feeling.
When He Yan felt that it was enough, she stopped channeling spiritual energy into the man on the bed. However, there was no need for more as Mu Nan had regained the strength to even sit by himself.
"How do you feel Mu Nan?" Yang Leo was the first to ask as soon as Chu Miao’s mother stopped what she was doing.
"I haven’t felt so good in a long time. Even before I started starving, I hadn’t felt so good." Mu Nan said with the first smile he had shown since Yang Leo found him.
He had hoped to survive of course, but he didn’t have too much hope because he felt as if his body was on the verge of collapse.
He had actually been happy when Yang Leo found him not because he could be saved, but because he at least didn’t have to die alone in that laboratory. He had not expected a full recovery let alone the opportunity to live a normal life again.
Even when Yang Leo and the soldiers took so much care to bring him back, his only thought was that he would at least pass away in a place with at least one person who cared about him.
