Chapter 308: Feng Tu’s Decision
CHAPTER 308: CHAPTER 308: FENG TU’S DECISION
As a result, she had learned to be ruthless. At first, when she injured someone outside, she would feel so scared and want to run, but the result of her hesitation and fear was that she would end up hurt and her parents would have a hard time.
So, she hardened her heart and learned to hurt people without blinking. Now, she had no problem killing someone and walking away as if nothing had happened.
She had also learned not to trust people completely, especially someone with negative thoughts about her.
That’s why at that moment, she decided not to give the girl in her team a gun.
"But opening a private base is so risky. I guess no one would want to go there. They only have some soldiers while a safe base built by the government would definitely be safer and have more protection.
Also, even though her family was wealthy before, in the apocalypse that doesn’t matter. People who had been filthy rich before are now fighting for soaked supplies with us common people." The girl, Jiang Xixi said.
One could hear the disdain in her voice.
"Jiang Xixi, if you don’t want to go that’s fine, you don’t have to belittle others. We are a team after all." One of the male teammates who happened to have a crush on Feng Tu said calmly.
He had noticed long ago that Jiang Xixi didn’t have a good character, but because their team needed her as a member, he never said anything.
However, she had crossed the line today. No one was forcing her to join the private base Feng Tu’s friend talked about. Why did she have to behave like a mad dog, biting and refusing to let go?
"Of course you would defend her." Jiang Xixi said to Gu Yanzhou, the man who had spoken earlier.
The team knew that Gu Yanzhou had a crush on Feng Tu but was afraid of rejection, so he never said anything.
What he didn’t know was that the feeling was mutual, but Feng Tu was the shy type and never let it show.
Seeing the atmosphere become so tense, Yin Shao, another teammate and Gu Yanzhou’s friend decided to cut the tension.
"Let’s go home. Our wounds are better and we can be home early today. The supplies we got can last us at least two weeks.
Maybe by then, the flood water would have dried up and we can then decide where to go." Yin Shao said to his team and started rowing his rubber boat.
The others didn’t say anything and also started to row. Feng Tu joined the men in rowing and soon returned home.
They divided the supplies equally among themselves and carried them to their respective apartments.
As it turned out, the few of them came from two different buildings.
Feng Tu lived in the same building as Gu Yanzhou and Yin Shao. Jiang Xixi and the other guy lived in another building next to theirs.
They had become a team during the extreme heat period and had always gotten along okay, even though Jiang Xixi made things complicated sometimes due to her entitled personality.
However, she was a strong water-ability user and also provided water to the team members when needed. Because of the constant use of her ability, she had gotten stronger fast.
At the moment, she could provide twenty liters of water to each of her teammates daily.
Feng Tu realized that getting water from Jiang Xixi in the future might become problematic after this conflict, but she had learned the hard way not to rely on others too much.
Even though she always ignored Jiang Xixi’s snobbish attitude, she never thought they would be friends or teammates forever, so, over the time she had been providing water daily, she and her family made sure to save some water everyday.
Adding the water they had saved before and collected during their outings to hunt for zombies and scavenge for supplies, they had enough water in the house to use for a while.
When she got home, her mother had food ready and was waiting for her to eat a somewhat late lunch.
She had her father help her to move the supplies she brought back including the cooler box and guns Chu Miao had given her.
"Sweetie, did you get injured today? Let Mom take a look." Feng Tu’s mother immediately started fussing over her as soon as she walked in.
"I am fine Mom, I got hurt but I got really good medicine this time. The wounds have practically healed already." Feng Tu said with a bright smile on her face.
"If you don’t believe me, take a look." Feng Tu continued as she lifted her shirt to show her mother the healing wounds on her abdomen.
She also pulled back her sleeves to show her mom the wounds that were about to become scars on her arms.
Her father just happened to walk in with the last box of supplies when he heard their conversation and also wanted to know what was happening.
However, when the two elders saw the large wounds on the daughter’s body, even though they were practically healed, they felt distressed.
They were sad that their daughter had to go through so much pain for their family. The two of them could also go out and look for supplies. In fact, they did that sometimes, but recently, Feng Tu had forbidden them from going outside.
She does all the supply collection with her teammates and they had to wait for her at home.
Their daughter was too filial and they couldn’t do anything about it. They could only support her and pray that she comes home safe after every outing.
However, at that moment looking at the large wounds, they could imagine the kind of battle she had experienced. But it was obvious that the wounds were almost healed.
They wondered what kind of opportunity she had encountered.
