CHAPTER 325: CHAPTER 325: CHU MIAO’S UNUSUAL TALENT

"I think I know where to find a testing crystal ball." Chu Hao suddenly jumped to his feet and shouted.

"What?" He Yan and Chu Miao both asked at the same time in shock.

The shock wasn’t because Chu Hao knew where to find a testing crystal ball, that was just a surprise. It was because he had shocked their hearts so much with his shout and act of jumping up that they both wanted to give him a beating.

But the allure of the crystal ball was too much, so they let it slide.

"Where is it?" Father Mo asked his son who was acting all smug and smiling like a fool.

"Oh! Bunny, let me into the space, I saw it somewhere in the study inside the courtyard." Chu Hao came back to his senses and got serious again.

Chu Miao didn’t ask any more questions and directly let her brother into the space ring.

After less than a minute, she felt him probing her to let him out and immediately did so.

Chu Hao came out holding a crystal ball the size of a gold ball. It was completely clear.

Chu Miao took it from his hand and examined it for a while before injecting a small amount of energy into it.

The crystal ball suddenly lit up with a white color that blinded everyone in the room.

Such a bright light was evidence of Chu Miao’s talent in cultivation, especially since she had only injected a wisp of spiritual energy into the ball.

"Wow! What kind of talent is so blinding?" Mother Chu asked while looking at her daughter with a smile.

"Of course, don’t you see whose granddaughter she is ?" Grandpa Chu started boasting while praising himself. It was as if Chu Miao was born to him.

The others laughed upon hearing his remark, but no one contradicted him. Chu Miao was his descendant after all.

"I should have a level ten talent, which is the highest talent level and very rare." Chu Miao said smugly while subtly boasting about her talent.

Her parents and two grandfathers looked at her and a genuine smile appeared on their faces.

There weren’t many moments nowadays where they could get to see their daughter’s/granddaughter’s genuine reaction of a teenager.

She was always burdened by leadership since the apocalypse approached. It was a pity for such an innocent smile to disappear forever.

So, they cherished such moments when she would act like her age. This gave them more joy than when she was acting all tough and leading people to kill zombies.

Even Chu Hao was overjoyed by his sister’s laugh. If he had to act like a clown all his life to see that smile or hear her laugh, then he was willing to be seen as silly and stupid his whole life.

Chu Miao didn’t realize that her family had so many thoughts just because she had laughed. However, if she knew, she would definitely laugh more because nothing was more important to her than her family.

All the hard work she did was so that her family would have a safe haven to live comfortably in even when the rest of the world was crumbling.

"You try it too, Big brother." Chu Miao said and offered the ball to her brother.

She wondered what level of talent her brother had.

She was sure it was lower than hers but not by a lot.

When Chu Hao injected spiritual energy into the ball, the crystal ball shone with a bright red light mixed with some orange. The red light represented his mutated fire element. The level indicated that he was at least a level eight.

"Wow, brother, if you cultivate more diligently you can advance even faster than you do now.

Your spirit root isn’t low level at all. At least a level eight, quite rare even in ancient times.

In the ancient era, most people hailed as geniuses only had level seven spirit roots. Finding a level eight was as rare as can be, not to mention level nine or ten." Chu Miao exclaimed.

She wasn’t trying to hype her brother and comfort him because his talent was lower than hers. She was telling the truth.

Talents above level seven were indeed a rare find in the ancient era.

"What was your talent level in the ancient era?" Chu Hao asked.

He wanted to know if his sister’s talent had changed due to time travelling.

"I never got tested. When I started cultivating, the soul ring recognized me as its master and to protect me, grandpa never let anyone else other than himself get involved in my cultivation journey.

He trained me himself. Even when he sent me to an academy for a while to study, he didn’t let me acknowledge a master.

This is also one of the reasons why I never managed to master a single skill to a higher level and all my skills including array formations and talisman drawing remained on the first or second level.

However, my cultivation speed was pretty fast, so I can assume I had the same talent as now." Chu Miao hadn’t had the experience of many young cultivators when she was in the ancient times because her grandfather prioritized her safety first.

Therefore, things like talent testing was never done. Even when she joined the academy, her grandfather pulled some strings and got her through the back door.

"Grandpa was sure protective of you. But with how heaven-defying the soul ring is, if anyone with ulterior motives found out about it, they might do whatever it takes to take it from you.

It was a wise move to protect you like that." Chu Hao commented but he wasn’t jealous at all.

He was happy that his sister could be pampered even in the ancient era.

"I guess if not for the prophecy, nothing would have happened to me. But I don’t feel resentment because even though the prophecy led to my death, it still brought me back to my original family.

At least I didn’t get reincarnated in a stranger’s family and still got the same parents and the same Grandpa.

That’s already a blessing." Chu Miao said. Ever the optimist.
