Chapter 343: The Battle with Smart Zombies
CHAPTER 343: CHAPTER 343: THE BATTLE WITH SMART ZOMBIES
"Alright, you go back to your motorcycle, we will be careful and take care of those zombies.
If any of you want to join in on the battle, you are welcome. It is a good opportunity to train." Yang Leo was the one who advised Zhu Feng.
Zhu Feng felt that he should make friends with these people and it would be beneficial to his family.
He had heard rumors that the Chu family treated those in their corner and were loyal to them like family.
He wanted that too. So, he decided that he would fight side-by-side with them.
"I forgot to bring a weapon." Zhu Feng said.
It was an indication that he wanted to fight. Without wasting time, the soldiers brought out the spare weapons they had and gave Zhu Feng three swords.
"Just in case your friends want to fight too." Fu Nie said then turned around and went back to his car.
The others followed suit and the procession began to move again.
Zhu Feng went back to his motorcycle and explained what was happening to his neighbors. Old Jiang was all but ready to go back, and he suggested so.
"Old Zhu, why don’t we turn back if there is such a large number of zombies ahead? What are we doing going forward?" He asked in a panicked tone.
Old Su on the other hand thought the opposite.
"Since those soldiers are going forward despite knowing about the zombies, it means that they are going to fight and are sure that they will win.
If we lose this opportunity to get some supplies, where will we get such a good chance again?" He thought that his neighbor was too timid for the apocalypse.
He will get his family into trouble if he continues being so cowardly.
"But that’s almost a thousand zombies! How do you think they will kill all of them and come out unscathed?" Old Jiang was still not convinced and wanted to go back.
"Well, with our help. We can’t always expect to get something for nothing.
We have to work for what we earn. This was the way before the apocalypse and it is even more so now.
Here, take a sword and face those monsters head on." Zhu Feng advised while giving them the swords.
He grasped his tightly and started the motorcycle to follow the cars which were slowing down in the distance.
It seemed that they had seen the zombies.
"Are we really going to fight?" Old Jiang was still unsure and afraid.
He didn’t want to die, but he also knew that if he stayed hidden while the others fought, then he wouldn’t have the right to take supplies once they were back home.
As Zhu Feng came closer to the other vehicles, they could see a black mass about a hundred meters in front of them.
Those were the zombies. It was going to be a little challenging since it was at night and there was not even a hint of moonlight.
However, they had to fight and get rid of these zombies.
"Where did so many zombies come from when the military was here to clear them? Or did they not enter the side roads and simply went directly to the city?" Shen Zhen asked.
He had awakened a water superpower after the last time he fell sick in the yacht while going out to look for supplies.
He had been cultivating his ability religiously and had already advanced to the second level.
He wanted to use his superpower some more so he didn’t take a weapon and instead decided to conjure one from his water ability.
The others with superpowers were the same. They moved forward and left two people to protect their vehicles.
There were other zombies coming from other directions, thus, the two people left behind wouldn’t be idle.
Soon, a battle broke out with loud grunts and groans from the zombies.
Various flashes of light from different abilities were visible as those with fire superpower hurled fireballs into the center of the zombie horde.
Others with water ability like Shen Zhen created a long and curved water sword that cut off zombie heads like a hot knife slicing butter.
Those without superpowers held their weapons tightly and swung their swords with physical strength that was difficult to explain.
With every swing, a part of the zombies’ body fell to the ground. Even though cutting off an arm or a leg didn’t kill the zombie immediately, it slowed them down and gave the fighters an opportunity to aim for the head.
With all the zombies and fighting in the dark, there should have been chaos, but to Zhu Feng and the other’s surprise, the battle was quite organized.
When one person was surrounded and overwhelmed by a large number of zombies, someone would come to their rescue and save them.
Moreover, it was as if these people had endless energy and no matter how many zombies attacked, they always found a way to cut them down.
This was the first time Zhu Feng’s group of three had seen something so magical. They had gone out a few times when they really needed to look for something for their families to eat, they had also killed a few zombies, but something of a large scale like this one? They hadn’t seen before.
Moreover, such a brutal battle was a first for them as well. Even Old Jiang who had been timid and wanted to go back felt his blood boil when he witnessed this.
He thought to himself, some of the soldiers fighting there were only a few years older than his son. Like Fu Nie, he was so young yet was already a leader.
Why was he then cowering and wanting to run? If he died so be it, what was the use of living in fear everyday? His family will only suffer that way.
As these thoughts went through his head, Old Jiang grabbed the sword Zhu Feng had given him and joined the battle.
