Chapter 413: Going to The Garden Community
CHAPTER 413: CHAPTER 413: GOING TO THE GARDEN COMMUNITY
"You have two men in your family and a daughter. How can you have nothing to eat when so many capable people are there?
My daughter is so young yet you all depend on her efforts. It’s time that my daughter rested too.
There is no need for the few supplies she collects to be taken by everyone." It was the first time Mrs. Feng had been so adamant about something and it felt good.
She took a deep breath and realized that she felt lighter, as if a huge burden had been lifted from her shoulders.
It looked like she had too much tension because of everything going on with her family and those so-called relatives.
Now that she had practically cut them off, she felt much better and more relaxed.
She also didn’t have scruples anymore and shut the door in their faces.
"Mom, you are finally not indulging them?" Feng Tu asked her mother with a bright smile on her face.
In fact, it was only because of her parent’s sentimental character that she hadn’t completely fallen out with these people.
In this apocalyptic world, it is not realistic to consider relatives who only see you as a means of survival. It would have been different if these people genuinely treated them as relatives.
However, it was different with them, they only moved to this place so that they could suck their blood. Now that her mother had decided to cut ties, it was indeed refreshing.
"I am sorry my baby, I have put so much pressure on you just because I didn’t want to fall out with our only remaining relatives. But now it seems that they want to use that against us.
Then it’s better not to have these kinds of relatives at all." Mrs. Feng couldn’t believe what she was saying and her husband was even more surprised.
However, Mr. Feng didn’t say anything and just placed the two huge suitcases he had packed in the living room.
"Miaomiao, we are ready to go." Feng Tu said after seeing the suitcases her father brought out together with her own and the supplies her mother had already packed.
"Should we go down so that you can put the bus out and we can load out stuff? I bet the others have already started to arrive. They were very eager to leave this place as soon as they heard that we are going to a better and safer place." Feng Tu added.
"Alright, let’s get going then." Chu Miao got up and picked the two large suitcases Mr. Feng had placed down.
She had seen how he had struggled to bring them out, meaning that they were heavy and would be a problem for him to take down to the ground floor.
"Ah! What are you doing? Miaomiao, put them down, they are very heav...." Mr. Feng didn’t get to finish his sentence as the rest of the words were swallowed back to his stomach.
They watched as Chu Miao picked up the two suitcases as if they were toys and walked out. Feng Tu had always known that her friend was strong, so she was only surprised for a second before she came back to her senses and picked up her own suitcase and another bag filled with supplies and followed after her friend.
Mr. and Mrs. Feng looked at each other and shook their heads. The two girls were really unusual. But thinking that a few months ago their daughter was only a shy, timid girl while Chu Miao was a delicate, pampered young girl from a rich family, they sighed.
The apocalypse had really changed everyone. It seemed that it was time for them to accept reality and let go of their unnecessary sentiments that might bring their daughter and her friend trouble.
Thinking of this, they looked at each other again and this time they saw the resolution and determination in the other’s eyes.
They didn’t need to say anything but they understood each other perfectly.
As such, when they went down with the remaining bags of supplies and their so-called relatives tried to pry information out of them and to find out where they were going and even suggested that they go together since they were family, they mercilessly rejected them.
This time there wasn’t even letting them down gently. No, they simply told them, no. They told them they could become relatives again after the apocalypse. That was a hilarious thing to say and Chu Miao and Feng Tu laughed when they heard them, but it was what needed to be done for such shameless people.
Chu Miao placed the two large suitcases down and found that two other families had already arrived and were waiting for them.
Chu Miao remembered two youths among them as Feng Tu’s teammates and nodded at them as a form of greeting.
She then walked to the back of her car and suddenly a mini bus appeared in front of everyone.
Feng Tu had told them that there would be a vehicle to ferry them to their destination with their belongings, but these teammates and their families had not expected one to appear out of thin air.
But they were overjoyed because now they could ascertain that they were really leaving.
Chu Miao helped Feng Tu load her family’s luggage together with the supply bags her parents had just brought down.
She then asked the others to do the same and the two families proceeded to load their belongings.
It was at this time that the last teammate brought his family which included a wife and a three-year-old child to load their belongings as well.
They had taken time because of the baby and everyone understood.
"Are you riding with me?" Chu Miao turned to ask her friend.
Feng Tu looked at her parents in turn who nodded their heads to show that they were fine alone. Besides, they were with the other members of the team and their families so they wouldn’t get bored.
"Alright, I’ll ride with you. We can catch up on the way." Feng Tu replied with a smile after getting her parent’s assurance.
