Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive
Chapter 415: Self-Trained Team
CHAPTER 415: CHAPTER 415: SELF-TRAINED TEAM
Looking around, one could easily see that there were close to two hundred zombies with the majority of them at the front as if they were blocking the way forward.
Others were on the sides and some had even started smashing their hands on the windows which scared the members of the families in the bus almost to a dead faint.
Some of them had not left their houses ever since the apocalypse started. They had only seen it on TV or the internet in the beginning, or when their neighbors had turned into one.
However, seeing a zombie up close was indeed their first time and it was so scary seeing a monster that could potentially eat you right outside the window of the car you are traveling in.
The women both old and young as well as the children began to scream. Some who were too timid couldn’t even make a sound and curled themselves in their seats, too afraid to move.
Chu Miao looked at the situation they were in and decided to use this opportunity to test the team. Her car was a modified military vehicle and it could even deploy some weapons but she chose not to.
"Let me see what your team is capable of. Get rid of these zombies. And be careful, they seem to have become smarter." She instructed Feng Tu who was in the same car as her at the front.
"Alright, just wait and see, these zombies don’t pose a threat to us." Feng Tu was also eager to show her friend how much her strength had grown and that her team would not become a burden to her.
Feng Tu immediately got out of the car by smashing the door on the zombies that were on her side of the car trying to get in.
As the zombies moved back, she took the opportunity to jump down and closed the door in a hurry.
She was already holding a long sword in her hand that she swung as soon as her feet touched the ground. Even though the zombies were better than before in terms of strength and intelligence, they were still not comparable to a human’s nimble mind.
As a human, Feng Tu could make decisions based on her circumstances and attack according to the strength of the enemy.
As soon as the other three team members in the bus saw their acknowledged leader get out of the car to fight, they also left their seats, including the driver and joined the battle.
Even though they were all superpower users, they chose to use their physical weapons and only use their abilities when necessary.
Feng Tu had a strength-type superpower and one swing of her sword even without injecting any spiritual power was enough to decapitate a zombie.
The others were the same. Chu Miao noticed that as a team, they were organized and disciplined.
Each team member had their own advantages and their teammates covered their flaws to allow them to fight with minimal risk of injuries or death.
Seeing such a capable self-trained team, Chu Miao was gratified and realized that if humans had more teams like those, then there is hope to save the world.
Even though the team was well coordinated, they were still struggling to eliminate the horde of stronger zombies and time was also moving.
Since Chu Miao had achieved her goal and assessed the capabilities of the team, she decided to lend them a hand and kill the rest of the zombies.
She didn’t even get down from the car and just rolled down her window. With a wave of her hand, all the zombies on the side she was at fell to the ground with their heads detached from their bodies.
It was a kill that surprised even the small children watching the excitement through the closed windows.
Feng Tu and her team paused for a moment when they saw that before resuming their slaughter. Only this time it was obvious that they put more effort into the battle.
It was as if seeing Chu Miao wave her hand and kill so many zombies had stimulated them in some way.
Soon, all the zombies were eliminated. Seeing how they knew how to ambush people, Chu Miao was afraid that others were still hiding nearby, thus, she swept the place with her divine sense and what she found shocked her.
There was someone, or to put it more straightforward, there was a zombie about a block away that seemed to be watching what was happening through a window on the top floor of one of the buildings.
The zombies could be said to be a zombie because it had some rotting flesh on its body, though not much as the better part of its skin seemed to have been restored.
Moreover, although with divine sense, she couldn’t get a clearer picture, Chu Miao could still determine that it was able to see what was happening.
Its eyes should no longer be the white or grey color seen in regular zombies but it should have pupils like a real human.
Just as Chu Miao was about to teleport to that location to eliminate that zombie as she could sense the danger it would bring, the zombie seemed to have sensed her intention and rushed out of there.
With its actions, it also revealed that the zombie was not only able to see, but it was intelligent, and its intelligence was as high as that of a human.
It was also very sensitive as it was able to realize that it was being ’watched’ and escape.
Those were not the actions of a simple flesh-eating monster. It was obvious now that humans were starting to deal with intelligence zombies that would challenge their actions.
It was time to step up training and improve defenses.
After the battle, Feng Tu and her team collected the crystal cores and got back into the cars.
It was also the first time the families had seen their loved ones fighting zombies and although they were proud of them, they also realized the kind of danger they faced everyday they went out to hunt.
