Apocalypse: Zombie King is the Female Lead's Younger Sister
Chapter 119: Awakening a New Ability
CHAPTER 119: CHAPTER 119: AWAKENING A NEW ABILITY
Zerra’s fever subsided after a while, and an earth-shattering scene had taken place in her bedroom.
She felt like she had been through a long dream, so vivid she almost mistook it for reality. However, she quickly corrected herself. It was indeed a reality.
The dream was reliving a distant memory, where she was still newly assigned to her own abode on her master’s mountain. She had decorated it with a lot of plants, just like the house she had lived in with her parents in the celestial realm.
She and her parents still stayed within the fox clan territory, but they were mostly wandering around; they always brought her along. Her parents were rich, having a lot of properties in various places.
For a moment, she even thought she was back at her parents’ place.
"Zee? How could this place turn like this?" A shocked voice resonated around the room.
Zerra, who heard her mom’s panicked voice, fluttered her eyes open. Then, she was similarly in shock.
Her current condition resembled that of someone who was chained to her bed. Only that she was practically drowned in the things that chained her.
Lush vines filled the room, making it resemble an elf’s bed. The problem was the so called-elf couldn’t move because she was tightly bound.
"Mom, I can’t move," she awkwardly muttered.
"Zee, are you awake?" A pleasant surprise was apparent in Nerith voice. "Wait a little. I will call your dad."
In a whoosh, her figure already disappeared from the door’s threshold.
Zerra thought she resembled a Tarzan. Her hands, feet, and hair had vines wrapped around her. Her mom hadn’t noticed that she was awake earlier because the vines were practically covering her face.
Luckily, she could still breathe.
She spread her senses through the room and quickly identified the source of the vines. On the windowsill, there were pots filled with soil. The roots of the vines were coming from there.
However, she remembered the pots were supposed to be empty. She had simply assumed that the plants there died after the fog. She hadn’t had the time to move them yet.
How could a dead plant come back to life? Zerra couldn’t help but gasp. The vines weren’t some kind of mutated deadly plant, were they?
"Zee, are you awake? Speak to me." Her dad’s worried voice floated over.
Then, she heard someone sucking in a deep breath in shock. Indeed, the sight was too shocking. The vines were spreading, wrapping everywhere — on the bed, table, all of her things. Some even hung on the door, nearly blocking the entry.
"Holy shit!" Laziel, who had just arrived, gasped in horror.
"Zee, where are you? Talk to me!" He passed by his dad and marched toward the room, smashing the vines in a hurry. "You are still alive, right?"
"I am here," Zerra weakly muttered. She had no energy. Since she had been unconscious for a day, she hadn’t eaten anything, extremely famished.
Not long after, the whole family members appeared in Zerra’s room, cleaning the vines to make a path to her bed. Cassias also appeared. He had been staying over at their house.
He took out a familiar pitchfork and began to work on the vines, sweeping them to his space. His technique was incredibly effective. In a few minutes, he had already arrived at Zerra’s bed.
In a careful gesture, he slowly helped her to get rid of the vines. Surprisingly, the vines were somewhat wasn’t as difficult to cut as they had imagined. They were like normal vines.
The more they looked at Zerra on the bed, the more shocked they became. The vines seemed to form a cocoon around her, protecting her from any harm.
They had also imagined her situation might be painful. With her fair skin, a light graze would form reddish marks, but her skin was intact, despite a little dirty.
After they moved Zerra to another room, Nerith spoke. "Zee must be starving. I am going to get the porridge for her."
In fact, she had cooked it before she went to Zerra’s room. Based on Isryn’s estimation, she should wake up today, and Isryn was right. One day without food would make her poor daughter starve, so she had cooked it in advance.
After she brought the porridge, she helped Zerra to clean her limbs first. Everyone was extremely quiet, each with their own thoughts.
"So, Zerra’s new power is wood ability?" Laziel was the first to break the silence. His eyes widened as if he had just realized it.
"Most likely so." Cassias nodded in agreement.
She could fill the entire room with such a thick layer of vines upon awakening her power, which meant that her vitality power was incredibly immense.
Zerra, who was refusing to be fed by her mom, whipped her head toward them in bewilderment. "What do you mean I have a wood ability?"
"Open your mouth," Nerith ordered, still holding the warm porridge in her hand. Zerra subconsciously opened her mouth in her dazed state. Her mom took this chance to stuff a spoonful of porridge into her mouth.
She instinctively closed her mouth, chewing on the porridge after her mom pulled the spoon back. As the little activity happened, Zerra’s head was filled with the last memory in her mind before she passed out.
The blood seeping out of the spot that the silver needles had pricked. Then, she felt dizzy before passing out.
Her mind roared — a wood ability, stimulation...
The plant that Derek had brought must have stimulated her wood ability.
She widened her eyes in shock at the realization. Her mom always took the chance when Zerra was deep thoughts to feed her. They didn’t speak, allowing her to calm down first.
"Woah, Munchkin, you are actually a dual-ability user now. Is it because you always hung out with Cassias?" Laziel tilted his head. His intense gaze shifted to Cassias as he joked, "Maybe I should stick around him too? I might awaken my second ability then."
Cassias wasn’t polite. He took a few steps to the side, distancing himself from Laziel.
A radiant smile bloomed on Zerra’s face. She finally awakened an ability!
"Try this seed, Zee." Laziel took out some kind of seed. "I got this when I went out."
He handed her a pot and a seed. The family members gathered around with curiosity in their eyes.
"Is this fine, though? Zerra just woke up." Nerith immediately expressed her concern.
Laziel froze, then scratched the back of his head a little guiltily. However, the excited Zerra didn’t care.
"Don’t worry, Mom. I am fine, just a little hungry." Zerra assured.
As soon as she said those words, however, Nerith immediately stuffed another mouthful of porridge to her. Zerra had no choice but to eat them; she had said she was hungry.
As Zerra munched on the porridge, she recalled the Isryn’s steps in growing plants. She glanced down at her hand, then the soil and seed she had buried within.
"Elder brother, give it some water first."
Laziel obliged, pouring some water into the pot.
Zerra held out her hands as Laziel clutched on the pot. Vitality flowed out of her hands, and then, they witnessed something incredible happening.
