Apocalypse: Zombie King is the Female Lead's Younger Sister
Chapter 244: Her Face
CHAPTER 244: CHAPTER 244: HER FACE
She could hardly keep her calm, and the abrupt movement made a small creaking sound from the bamboo bed, waking up Nyra from her slumber.
"Zerra?" Nyra yawned and stared at her younger sister, unknowingly sending another wave of shock through Zerra’s body.
Z-Zerra?
That was also Nyra’s younger sister’s name, right? Her heart unknowingly started to beat faster. As Nyra stretched her body, which was beginning to feel uncomfortable from sleeping on the chair, she didn’t notice Zerra’s shocked face.
By the time she turned her attention to Zerra again, she had already adjusted the expression on her face.
"Sister," Zerra gulped. "Why are you sleeping on the chair?"
Nyra had been lying down beside her, but after she thought Zerra had fallen asleep, she moved to the chair and fell asleep there. So, she pretended as if she had just woken up. Fortunately, she was quick enough to put the mirror back in her inner space.
"I don’t want to accidentally touch your wounds during my sleep," Nyra explained. "Why have you woken up? Do you need something?"
Zerra nodded. "I want to go to the bathroom."
After she said that, Nyra immediately shot up from her chair and helped her to do her business in the bathroom.
"Sister..." she began. Her voice tinged with hesitation. They were already back in the room.
"What’s the matter? Do you feel hurt anywhere?" Nyra’s expression changed a bit. "Let me check."
"No, no." Zerra shook her head. "Do we... have a brother?"
"Brother?" Nyra scrunched her face. "Why do you want a brother? We don’t have a biological one, but if you want a brother... your sister can get one for you."
Zerra fell silent. Her mouth twitched. What did she mean by getting a brother for her? She was a little horrified inside. This version of Nyra looked a bit soft on the outside, but undoubtedly she was still the same fierce woman.
She didn’t doubt that her last words involved something illegal.
"No!" She hurriedly shook her head. "I am just asking because of curiosity..." she couldn’t bring herself to ask whether they had parents. For now, she had already determined that it was only the two of them—Laziel didn’t exist here.
Zerra requested to sleep alone for the rest of the night. This time, Nyra finally left her alone. When Nyra’s presence was gone, she heaved a sigh of relief.
Unfortunately, her senses were weak. It could only cover this room and a few other rooms nearby, unable to envelop the entire house. Most likely, it was because of her human body, which had limited her senses.
This body had zero cultivation and basically was just a mortal.
The night went still some time later. The movement in the other room quieted down. Nyra must have fallen asleep.
Zerra could finally ponder her current predicament. Nyra didn’t mistake her name at all. And this body’s face... she subconsciously touched her own face. It was so similar to her face that it left her wondering.
Did her memory accidentally get mixed up with Cassias? After all, going inside another being’s consciousness was dangerous. It could even lead to backlash.
For the entire night, she couldn’t get more than a wink of sleep. Her restless mind kept on guessing.
Should she wait for Cassias’ appearance before deciding to pull back? Truthfully, she was afraid of getting pulled into this whirlwind of confusion and losing herself in this world. It wasn’t some illusion that tried to confuse her, right?
In the morning, Nyra called the village’s doctor, who later confirmed that Zerra really had gotten amnesia. Nyra basically treated her like fragile glass after that.
"You should not get out..." Nyra’s face darkened. "You want to look for your friends again?"
Zerra was a little helpless. Originally, she still needed around two months until her feet recovered fully, but she noticed that the village’s doctor was actually a medical cultivator.
He had given her a prescription that helped to recover faster, shortening the two months time to a month. During the past month, she was itching to go out, wanting to see what was outside.
However, after she had gotten better, Nyra unexpectedly still didn’t allow her to get out.
She wanted to find Cassias...
"Sister, I am really alright," she said helplessly. "Do you want to see me jump and run around this house? I can show you I am perfectly healthy now."
Now, she could understand the body owner’s feelings, whether it was her or not, who might be her previous reincarnation...
No wonder she secretly ran off with her friends, which led to such an incident. This sister of hers was really too controlling and protective!
"You are the only relative I have left..." Suddenly Nyra let out a breath as collapsed on the chair. "You don’t even listen to me. What should I do if anything happens to you?"
Zerra pursed her lips. Here it goes again. Nyra had been saying this for a lot of times. It was also how she had obtained the information that there were only the two of them, a pair of sisters depending on each other.
On top of that, they were biological sisters, born from the same pair of parents.
She had tried to turn into her fox form, but she found out she couldn’t. She was truly a human in this life! Wait, in her previous scenes, she also couldn’t change into her human form...
One day, when Nyra wasn’t at home, Zerra heard knocking on the door. She followed her sister’s words not to run around while she worked at a neighbor’s house.
She secretly spied with her senses.
"I know there is someone inside. Girl, can you open the door?"
She jolted.
There was a pair of a man and a woman outside. They looked to be in their twenties. And they were... cultivators.
She opened the door. They must have detected her presence or the faint senses.
"Is your sister not home?" The man asked her.
She thought about it and shook her head.
"Where is she now?"
She shook her head again.
Was this the scene of cultivators bullying mortals next? Just as she thought about it. They exchanged glances, seemingly having decided on something.
However, before they could act on it, Nyra’s voice came from the distance. "Don’t hurt my sister! I will need more time to think about it."
