CHAPTER 667: TONG HUAN: WAY TOO NAIVE

Xu Yiyi crossed her arms in front of her and stated coldly, "Just tell me, why did you call me? Are you going to send me away?"

"Why? Are you going to cause trouble for me?" Bai Meiyue asked with a tilt of her head.

"I have no such intentions." Xu Yiyi frowned. "I did tell you that I only want to live my life as peacefully as I can, didn’t I? Why would I cause trouble for you or your family? I wouldn’t have come looking for your brother if not for your orders, where you stopped me from sleeping with men for a rice bowl and asked me to raise my price."

"I stopped you because I believe that you and your girls can entertain men without letting them sleep with you." Bai Meiyue spun on her heels and continued forward. "My offer still stands. You all can continue looking around the mansion and see if you like something. I will let your girls learn it for free. Your expenses will be taken care of by me and my family. But you are not allowed to sleep with men. Especially not for a price so cheap."

She then slowly walked out of the greenhouse without looking back. Once Bai Meiyue left, Xu Yiyi also didn’t stay behind. She ran her hand through her hair and then strode out of the greenhouse. She walked out without showing any regret or embarrassment for the kind of job she did, even when everyone looked at her with those judging eyes. With her heels clicking on the cobblestones, she continued to march forward with her head held high and her back straight. She didn’t look the slightest bit embarrassed, even though everyone kept looking at her in the wrong way.

Xu Yiyi walked out of the mansion and arrived at the parking lot. Several of the girls who followed her came along with her. When they saw Xu Yiyi walking out of the mansion, they hurried over without pausing. Their bright dresses and skirts fluttered behind them in the air.

"Sister Yiyi, what happened? What did those people say to you?"

"Sister Yiyi, did that woman make things difficult for you? Did she tell you what she wants from you?"

"Does she want us to leave? But didn’t we already sign the contract?"

"It’s alright. Even if she doesn’t want us to stay here, I have already packed our bags. We can drive to the base in the capital. I heard that it is a good place to stay."

As soon as these women stopped speaking, Xu Yiyi’s eyes turned tearful. She recalled what Bai Meiyue had told her. Even though she didn’t say it out loud, her words seemed to be silently asking her if she thought that it was right for her to drag these women down with her. She pursed her lips and silently closed her eyes. However, even with her eyes closed, tears still trickled down her cheeks.

When the women saw her crying, they all turned worried and immediately swarmed close to her.

"Sister Yiyi, why are you crying? What happened?"

"Did she say something rude to you? Don’t worry. We will take care of her."

"Don’t cry, Yiyi. If there is no place for us here, then we will go and look for another place to stay. Anyway, the world is so big; there is not only this safe base."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Xu Yiyi glared at the four women in front of her. She took the cigar from the hands of the youngest girl and placed it between her lips with shaking hands. She took a long drag and only then did she say to the worried women, "There is no need for you all to worry. Bai Meiyue didn’t kick us out; she is different from those owners who wanted to make us work until we die. What she told me nearly moved me...." She wiped a tear off her cheek and continued, "That little lady said to me that we can just eat and drink under her wing, and there is no need for us to sleep with men. In fact, she is willing to teach you all another profession if you want to, as long as you like it, she will arrange it for you. Wen Jun, didn’t you say that you wanted to learn baking? This is your chance."

"What? Really?" Wen Jun was surprised. "Is she really willing to send three meals a day for us without asking anything in return? There is no scheme behind it?"

"I think that there is indeed some conspiracy behind this mess. How could she feed us without asking anything in exchange? There must be some other intention behind this favour that she is showing."

"Haha, what kind of scheme do you think there might be?" Another woman rolled her eyes and said to the two. "You two have lost everything. Do you think we even have something to lose? We, women, can even serve two men at the same time. What else is there for us to fear?"

"You! Are you really this foul-mouthed?"

"Ahaha, did you think that I had changed?"

These women cursed at one another so loudly that their voices started to echo in the parking lot. Xu Yiyi had a headache just listening to their obscenities. She turned her head and looked at the mansion in front of her. She had no idea what Bai Meiyue was thinking by offering her a life where she didn’t have to sleep with men anymore. But she hoped that Bai Meiyue was not hiding any evil behind this kind intention.

She curled her lips and then turned around before slipping inside the car. Once she gunned the engine, the women who were quarrelling with one another turned silent. They looked at one another and then slipped inside the car one by one, as they didn’t want to be left behind!
