CHAPTER 676: TAKING MATTERS INTO HIS HANDS (II)

When Liu Che heard the scream of the woman behind them, he rolled his eyes. He turned to look at Bai Meiyue and asked, "Miss Bai, why did you allow that woman to stay here for so long? With her virtues, she should have been kicked out of the safe base long ago."

He couldn’t understand why Bai Meiyue allowed Fu Wan to make trouble for so long. With her personality of not bothering with any nonsense, Bai Meiyue should have kicked the woman out of the safe base right away.

"I want to kick her out as well." Bai Meiyue didn’t want to listen to Fu Wan’s nonsense anymore, but Old Master Bai had promised her that he would arrange a jade mine for her after finding out that she liked jade. He told her that this was a simple gesture of goodwill for all the sufferings that she usually went through at the hands of Fu Wan.

Bai Meiyue didn’t like jade, but she was in need of a lot of jade. Since the treasure was landing right in her lap, why would she refuse? Anyway, the more Fu Wan acted like this, the more Old Master Bai would feel sorry for her and the more he would send something even better for her by the evening. The man might not have any abilities, but he was quite rich in terms of antiques and other resources.

Liu Che noticed that Bai Meiyue had a pondering look on her face and realised that she must have her reasons for allowing Fu Wan to stay at the safe base, and turned silent. The three of them slowly made their way to the greenhouse where the wood ability users were ploughing land with the help of earth-type ability users.

Bai Meiyue glanced at the ability users who were staring at her. While some were simply curious, there were some whose gazes were not correct at all. She narrowed her eyes and stared at the five or six men who were looking at her as if they were talking about her in an undertone. However, they had modulated their voices and she couldn’t hear a thing that they were saying to her.

Her suspicion became even more serious when she realised that these men were trying to hide their chatter from her.

The burly man with a bald head spoke to the five other men as if he were discussing something with them and then turned around to walk away. But before walking away, he looked at Bai Meiyue with a look of challenge in his eyes as if he was waiting for her to follow him. That motherfucker.

Bai Meiyue placed her hands on her belly protectively and then walked behind the men. She didn’t stop Liu Che and Meng Qibao from following her because she wasn’t stupid. The other five men were clearly together, which meant that if she chased after this man on her own, then she might put herself as well as her son at risk. She was not stupid enough to do that just yet.

She followed the man until they stepped out of the mansion and reached a mansion which was a bit further down the lane, separated from the other residential areas.

Liu Che and Meng Qibao had no idea what Bai Meiyue was trying to do by following the man. But they still followed her lead without waiting for her to say anything.

Bai Meiyue was satisfied with the loyalty of the two men. It seemed like she was not wrong when she allowed these two men to follow her; at least now she didn’t have to worry about watching her back all the time.

They soon arrived at the mansion, where a lot of exquisite antiques were placed all over the room, and the burly men were sitting in the middle of all the treasures like a king who was studying his court. He looked at Bai Meiyue and chuckled softly. "It seemed like Miss Bai really doesn’t back down from a fight. Who would have thought that you would really come after me just because I challenged you? Especially with that big belly."

He eyed Bai Meiyue’s belly as if he were coveting a treasure that he could collect as long as he was careful enough.

Bai Meiyue didn’t like the hideous gaze with which the man was looking at her belly. She narrowed her eyes and questioned, "What are you trying to do?" She had a feeling that the man in front of her was one of the spies Yu Miaomiao sent to her base, and from the looks of it, he seemed to have finally gotten tired of the situation where they had been waiting for one another to make the first move.

"Ahaha, you really need to ask me this?" His lips were curled in a smile, but suddenly his smile turned ferocious, and he said to Bai Meiyue, "Do you think that I wanted to blow my cover so soon, but who would have thought that you are really smart at winning the hearts of idiots?" he spread his hands and said to Bai Meiyue, "Our big plan turned out to be a dud because that idiot betrayed us. Who would have thought that a man who was as cowardly as a mouse would dare to do such a thing? He actually dared to tell you everything about the nanobugs?"

The burly thug was not happy after finding out that his big plan had been revealed. He had already buried all the nanobugs in the mansion near the one where Bai Meiyue lived when one of his underlings came to tell him that the man had taken care of the chip inside his system, and he could no longer trace him like he could in the past. That was when the burly thug realised that their plan had been disclosed.

He couldn’t wait for Bai Meiyue to give birth any longer! It was time to take the matters in his hands.
