Chapter 112: One stolen bracelet please.
CHAPTER 112: ONE STOLEN BRACELET PLEASE.
The restless night extended to other parts of the country. In a small town of Redmond, another woman awakened the ability to control the rain.
In the Rainhound mountain base, a man awakened electrokinetic powers after a lightning strike hit him. Neither Pastor Salem nor Moon noticed. The two were still at odds, each trying to get the upper hand over the other.
Pastor Salem was currently planning with Zadok how to trick Moon into walking out and being killed in the acid rain.
Moon was losing her mind this night. The lucky bracelet was missing!!! She had hidden it in a sack of flour before going off to have her first bath in three days. After the bath, she discovered that the bracelet was gone.
She had not slept all night and questioned the women in charge of cleaning her room. Then, she questioned everyone that was said to have been in or out of her room all day.
She had been searching for hours, and the search was fruitless. Only specks of flour were left on the floor, leading out to of the door.
It was almost midnight, and Moon was on her knees, clutching her chest with tears falling down her eyes. She was prepared for the world to end, the skies to fall and everything to be ruined--but the bracelet, she was not prepared to lose it.
How had everything gone so wrong even though she had made all the right choices?
"Damn you Sunshine...it has to be you." She muttered. She did not know how, but she was sure Sunshine was the one sabotaging her.
After exhausting her tears and cursing Sunshine, she sat down and started to plan. She had to move even quicker now in usurping the base or escaping. Without the bracelet, she was just the same old ordinary Moon whose only advantage was the knowledge in her mind.
If she ever discovered the thief, she would end their life ruthlessly. How dare someone steal from her!

The bracelet that Moon was desperately searching for was with Cassius Quinn. With the help of Denise Moore, he had managed to finally get his hands on it after desiring it for so long
He was admiring it, staring at it with the lustful eyes of a raccoon spotting an open dumpster under moonlight. Cassius did not know how it brought luck or how it had catapulted him to glory, but he was sure that if things worked out as Moon had said, this baby would be the key to his glorious life in the apocalypse.
"Now that you have it, what next?" Denise stretched her long legs that were covered by satin sheets. She stretched like a cat that was satisfied with the life of pampering.
Cassius only smiled, for he had no plans to share his deepest plans with Denise. While stroking her chin he told her. "W-we wait."
His eyes were still glued to the bracelet, tracing every line in search of something that would show evidence of how it worked.
Was it like those lamps in stories which would be rubbed and a wish granting genie would appear? He rubbed his thumb over it three times, but nothing happened.
Denise interrupted his thinking process by throwing her arms around him and purring. "My love, do you mean that we should wait for the acid rain to end before leaving this place? I cannot wait for us to leave this hellhole and live somewhere more private and bigger. We should move to someplace high. Those apocalypse guides said high places are safer than flat ones."
There was no response from Cassius, he was thinking of his plans that he had already put in place before he was dragged away from Quinn manor by Moon and her family. As for Denise, she was no longer important, but he would not get rid of her just yet.
"First...find a way to get rid of Moon, if she finds out that you stole this bracelet from her, all our plans will be wasted, and she will demand for the bracelet back." Cassius’s eyes lit up fiercely.
He would never give this bracelet back. It was his most important possession now. When he found Sunshine, she would show him how to use it.
Flicking her fingers dismissively, Denise let out a scoff. "Moon is done, Pastor Salem is apparently planning to kick her out because she violated some rules and is now a sinner. I am sure he is going to kill her like he did her father."
"Serves her right that bitch." Cassius cursed, he would never forgive Moon for choosing him to be thrown out in the citrus drizzle or pouring hot water in his legs.
Denise couldn’t take her eyes away from the bracelet, curiosity tugged at her. "What made you so obsessed with that bracelet? What is its purpose? Moon said that it’s a good luck charm. I once considered stealing it for myself, but I was afraid she would notice and have me thrown out of the base."
She traced over his chest. "But I did not hesitate to steal it for you. This goes to show the lengths I would go to just to make you happy."
Cassius smiled like a hungry vulture and kissed her. He did not want her asking questions about the bracelet. When he got a chance, he would get rid of her before she told anyone else about it.

The next morning, everyone set off from the church in the cars and continued on their journey and search for Alfred. They drove quickly and had breakfast inside the cars. Just as it had been during the first journey, a few jokes were cracked but they were kept classy because they had a priest in the mix.
So far, Siegfried was taking the lead in cracking those jokes.
"So, a priest, a dragon and a botanist walk into a bar. The bartender says, is this a prophecy, a thesis or a parable?"
Some people laughed, Sunshine being one of them. She had to admit that the classier kind of cliche jokes were much better than the dirty ones.
"Do another one." She said into the walkie-talkie.
Siegfried grinned happily where he was. "You got it boss. So, a priest, a singer and pickpocket walk into a bar. The singer pays for his drink by singing. The pickpocket takes the priest’s wallet, and the priest forgives him. Nobody pays for the drinks."
Father Nicodemus sighed. There was nothing wrong with forgiving a sinner.
As the soldier’s sniggered, Siegfried fired off another priest related joke.
"Will Phillip be alright? Perhaps we should return and get him better medical care." Nimo suggested to Sunshine.
Sunshine’s hands were stitching the weather absorbent under suit the wolf had ripped when it attacked Phillip. She was surprised that Nimo was willing to give up the search for her brother in favor of ensuring that her teammate lived.
Her soft heart continued to prevail. Phillip was not showing any external signs of illness, but he was sleeping a lot, and his temperature was fluctuating. Sunshine guessed that he was on his way to awakening.
If he did not awaken, he would either heal naturally and return to a normal state or die. These things, she had only shared with Nimo and not the others.
