Chapter 204 204: The Power of the Magic Gods
Academy City, District 7.
Four strange figures appeared on the central street. Their clothes and appearances were completely different from normal people, yet no one around them seemed to notice.
To the people nearby, it was as if they didn't exist at all—like they were just air.
This wasn't a simple trick of the eyes, but the real effect of folded space.
Although the four of them stood on Academy City's streets, the space they occupied was in a reversed dimension, unreachable by ordinary people.
In theory, the reversed plane and the normal plane should never cross or affect each other. Yet these four clearly had the power to influence every corner of Academy City.
Doing the impossible—that was what it meant to be a Magic God.
Magic Gods ruled over every law in the world of magic. They could make galaxies shrink and reverse, turn 1+1 into 3, stretch or shrink a meter in length, or increase and decrease the weight of a gram.
Like Anzen, Magic Gods were not born as gods—they were humans who reached that state.
Norse mythology, Hinduism, Buddhism, Greek myths, Mayan beliefs, witchcraft, Shinto, Shugendo… if one could reach the peak within any of these systems, they could become a Magic God.
But no matter the system, every Magic God's roots came from magic. Magic was the river, and each path was just another branch flowing from it.
Until Anzen appeared. His arrival broke the rule that only magic could give birth to a Magic God.
It was a direct challenge to the world's existing laws, and an insult to the Magic Gods themselves. They would never allow a new power system to stain the source of magic. And so—they came.
The Norse All-Father Othinus, the Living Buddha High Priest, the Mourner Nephthys, and the Queen of the Underworld, Proserpina. Only four had arrived, yet together they stood at the very end of all laws and truths.
"He has already noticed us," said Proserpina with a soft laugh. She wore a black gown and a black crown. "How interesting."
"If he's our equal, noticing us is only natural." Othinus adjusted her wizard's hat and looked up with green eyes. "Then let me greet him first."
"Hey, you lot!" A sudden voice cut in. "Who the hell are you?"
The four turned to the source.
A white-haired, red-eyed boy stood there, hands in his pockets, his eyes sharp with both confusion and caution.
To him, these people looked unbelievably strange, their presence overwhelming. The women wore almost no clothing, while the one most covered wore monk robes—but didn't even look human anymore.
A mummy? How could a mummy still be moving around like this on the streets of Academy City?
The sight hit Accelerator harder than he expected. It shook his worldview so much it made him question life for the second time.
Yes, the second time.
The first was when Saten Ruiko, a middle school girl, shattered all of his pride and confidence with a single strike.
"So you can see us." Proserpina locked her gaze on Accelerator, her stunning face showing a faint smile. "Not bad."
"He's just a toy Crowley made," the dried-up monk sneered.
"I sense Horus in him," Nephthys whispered as she drifted to the boy's side like a ghost, her body wrapped in bandages. "But he's still unfinished."
Accelerator's face froze in shock, and he quickly jumped back. "What the hell are you people?"
Just now, he had spread his awareness to the limit, yet he hadn't even sensed her move. It was unbelievable.
"That's not something you need to worry about, boy," Othinus said casually with a glance. "From now on, you'd best stay away from this city."
Though the four had already overlapped countless planes of reality with Academy City, even they couldn't guarantee that the coming battle wouldn't spill out beyond control.
As she spoke, Othinus slowly raised a finger.
Boom.
The clear blue sky rumbled with sudden thunder. Black clouds rolled, silver lightning danced.
And from the center of those clouds, a dark-gold cone appeared, glowing with countless lights, falling straight toward Academy City.
"My, using that much power right away?" Proserpina laughed lightly, her words chilling. "If we hadn't overlapped the planes, that single strike would have wiped out every living being in the universe."
Wipe out every living being in the universe?
Accelerator froze, his face filled with shock. But then he snapped back, and energy swirled in his palm as he shouted coldly, "Hey! Stop it now!"
Of course, he didn't believe anyone could really wipe out the whole universe, but he knew these people could definitely bring disaster to Academy City.
He might hate this dirty, twisted city, but he didn't want to see it destroyed right in front of him.
"Oh my, such a naughty child." Nephthys smiled sweetly at him. "When your big sisters are working, little boys shouldn't get in the way."
This bastard!
Accelerator felt like he was being mocked. Except for that old mummy, all the girls on the other side looked younger than him. What's with the big-sister act?!
Furious, Accelerator was about to attack when a flash of silver suddenly pierced through his body.
He froze.
Looking down at his chest, he saw a huge round hole stretching from below his neck down to his stomach. The hole was pitch black, with no sign of flesh or blood inside—just endless darkness.
"What is this…" Accelerator was still alive, his mind still working.
"I turned you into a black hole. Like the look?" Nephthys grinned playfully, but it made the white-haired boy's scalp tingle.
Turning someone's body into a black hole? What kind of trick is that? By nature, that should be impossible!
"We are the kind of beings that turn the impossible into possible." As if reading his thoughts, Lothsephina calmly said, "We are Magic Gods."
Buzz.
As her words fell, the golden cone in the sky dropped to the ground. Golden light surged up, covering the entire area.
