Ascendant Path of a Lustful Vampire
Chapter 243: It’s just a shame…
CHAPTER 243: IT’S JUST A SHAME...
Roxanne just smiled.
She inched forward, but it was so smooth that it was almost completely imperceptible. She was suddenly only a few inches away from Caius, her face especially close.
"Come on, My Lord," she said, "Surely we can come to an arrangement."
After Kerwin Leopold’s loss in his duel against Caius gave away their right to make independent decisions, the Leopold Coven lost all ability to oppose Caius. They had to obey his orders to the very letter, and there was no room for them to rage against his decisions.
But, of course, that was only really important or notable to someone who ever planned to use brute force to get what they wanted. Roxanne was here with a more sneaky and insidious strategy in mind.
Caius kept his smile.
"They didn’t send you here, did they?" He asked.
"What?" Roxanne said and paused, for the first time showing a crack in her confident and seductive expression. Even if that crack merely lasted a second.
"The Coven didn’t send you here," Caius said, "Or at least Kerwin did not. He wouldn’t go for this. I know him well enough to know he’d at least attempt to ask for an audience so we can talk it out since force isn’t an option.
He didn’t send you here."
"Heh—" Roxanne laughed and tried to speak but stopped when Caius pulled closer to her, his lips barely an inch away from hers as his eyes roamed her face.
She really was beautiful. If there was one thing the Leopolds had besides their astronomical wealth and a savvy business mind, it was good genetics. Good genetics they mostly kept in the family even before they had the secret of Vampirism to keep under wraps.
Caius took his hand off Roxanne’s breast which he had been squeezing for a while now and he stroked his hand through her hair. It had a good texture. Another aspect of that great Leopold genetics. From his stroke of her hair, Caius grabbed her chin between his thumb and index finger before he then raised his thumb to trace across her lips. They were a nice supple red but she hadn’t applied makeup. They were just naturally that color.
While Caius was making all these silent more or less in-depth observations of her looks, Roxanne’s lips spread into a smile at how good it felt but also because his member was now stirring under her touch. She could practically hear his blood rushing to make his cock turgid as she made her rubbing against it through the material of his pants even more insistent.
"Kerwin didn’t send you here," Caius said again.
"He didn’t," Roxanne admitted. There was no point lying at this point. And since her actions seemed to be bearing fruit and Caius was appearing to be quite enamored with her presence, she might as well pivot in her strategy even if only a little.
"The truth is... I’ve missed you," Roxanne said.
Caius raised a brow,
"Missed me?" He said with an amused smile, "Before two weeks ago, you didn’t even know who I was."
"I don’t think that matters—" Roxanne said.
"We’ve seen each other for all of a few hours at most. Definitely wasn’t even a quarter of the day. And we spoke for even less than that," Caius pointed out.
"How long does it really take to make an impression, My Lord?" Roxanne asked with a wave of her free hand where the moonstone ring that allowed her to move in daylight and not burn to ashes was quite visible.
When she let the hand drop, she searched Caius’s purple eyes with her Vampire red ones,
"What? Surely, for a man who looks as you do, My Lord, a confession like mine cannot be so uncommon," she said.
It sounded like flattery just for the sake of it but it was actually true. In fact, Roxanne was banking on just how true and believable it was to speed-run this seduction attempt of hers.
When Caius said nothing for a few seconds and only just traced across her lower lip, Roxanne cocked her head to the side,
"Is it Lorton, perhaps?" She asked, "Is he the reason you hesitate, My Lord?"
Caius held off a scoff at the mention of her partner. It just sounded silly to him that that would even matter if he wanted to proceed. But proceed with what? He wondered.
"Hesitate to do what?" he asked with that in mind, "Hesitate to ravage you within this very carriage or hesitate to bless you with Allegra’s manuscript so you can stand above every other member of the council?"
"Why, both of course, My Lord," Roxanne said with a smile that would set any man’s heart racing. Or at least get their dick so hard it’d pierce right through whatever fabric was trying to keep it contained.
As he held back from reacting to Roxanne’s smile as it was trying to get his body to react, Caius took note of this ambition of hers. It was a kind that had never shown up in the original story’s canon. At least, if it did, it had no impact on the story enough to be noted.
Of course, it was possible that nothing ever tempted Roxanne as much as Allegra’s manuscript did. An understandable thing to be honest.
The problem was that, Allegra’s manuscript was made by a Lover. It was made with love. It wasn’t something that could be handed to Vampires who never cared for any of those they fed on. I.e it wasn’t something to be given to a normal Vampire.
In other words, Caius was going about things in a not-so-normal way.
Caius’s hand went to the back of Roxanne’s neck now and he gripped as hard as he could. She could definitely take it because she was many Magic circles above him but she did moan at his grip.
Caius slowly touched his lips against hers then. Only lightly though and just by instinct, Roxanne was leaning closer to take his lips with more intensity and Caius leaned back, always just out of her reach to do as she pleased.
"You weren’t ordered here. You weren’t chosen. You technically did volunteer though. You wanted to get ahead of the rest, didn’t you? You could tell by my omission that I likely wasn’t willing to share and decided you could get me to allow you to partake," Caius said when he pulled off her lips.
"Yes," Roxanne said like that was the only word she could get out. And it technically was because all her attention was mostly focused on getting a harder and more intentional kiss from Caius.
"And if I planned to share with the rest of the Coven anyway?" Caius asked and touched his lips lightly to hers got a second before pulling away mostly to let her speak. And also to keep the frustration going.
"Well, then I’d at least have gotten to it first," Roxanne answered.
"That’s it?" Caius asked and laughed a little before he continued,
"Nah, I’m sure you’d have then convinced me to keep it away from them. Once you’ve had yours, who gives a fuck about them, am I right?"
"Yes, My Lord," Roxanne said, "You’re right."
Caius nodded,
"I like your ambition," he said.
"Thank you, My Lord," Roxanne said and gave her attempts to claim his lips for a harder kiss a few more tries.
Roxxane opened her mouth and bit at the air in frustration when she failed but that only caused her heart to beat even harder and her rubs of Caius’s cock became firmer. She moaned more than a few times like the frustration she was feeling was really getting her going.
"Yes, your ambition is commendable," Caius said slowly,
"It’s just a shame it hinges on me proving to be a weaker Leader for you than Kerwin could ever be."
