The Official Planetary System Event Arena

Roxanne feels brimming with excitement as she finally steps into the arena in the final round of the Official Planetary System Event. Where she finds the Successor of Chaos standing around waiting for her.

She's been anticipating this battle ever since the beginning of the event revealed who the other teams in it were. Because the thing she loves the most is to fight against powerful opponents.

And the Queen of Destruction is certainly one of those.

Of course, she's not worried about losing. Not in the slightest.

After all, she has over a hundred levels on the Queen of Destruction. Maybe if she was only fifty levels above her, she'd be worried. But not with a hundred levels.

Although the sight of the Queen of Destruction sitting on top of a ruined pillar while swinging her legs and with her hands in her pockets does slightly irk Roxanne's pride. Since it makes it obvious how little confidence the girl has in Roxanne to fight.

Roxanne's eyes narrow a little as her lips quirk upwards.

Let's see how long she can keep that confidence going…

Without hesitation, after stepping into the ring, Roxanne sprints straight towards the Successor while raising her fist and coating it in ice. Then she slams her fist straight into the Successor's chest, knocking her back several meters and off of the pillar itself.

But when Roxanne stops after the hit once the dust in the air clears to check the aftermath, she finds herself feeling shocked at the sight of the Queen of Destruction climbing back to her feet while wiping off her chest of dust and doing some stretches. All while glowing crimson scales and cracks cover her entire body beneath her outfit.

And the only sign of any damage taken by her are the more brightly glowing cracks beneath her clothes on her upper torso.

"How…" Roxanne mutters at the sight, only to hurriedly cover her entire body in ice to protect her when the Queen of Destruction rushes towards her and slams her own fist right into Roxanne's chest as if trying to copy Roxanne's attack.

Fortunately for Roxanne, she finds the attack barely even pushing her back thanks to her defenses. Defenses that are very powerful even for her level, especially with the ice coating her body.

Just like how Roxanne looked when her attack did very little to the Queen of Destruction, the girl looks surprised while staring at Roxanne.

Then a few seconds pass before both of them begin exchanging one punch after another, turning the duel into a fist-fight brawl.

Meanwhile the audience and the MC go wild commenting and cheering on their battle.

But Roxanne doesn't pay any of that any attention as her grin grows wider and wider. Because this is the first time anyone has ever been able to match her beneath her own level, much less over a hundred levels beneath her.

The two continue trading punches and kicks over and over while destroying the ring around them for several minutes before finally taking a pause with just a few meters between them. At which point Roxanne finally decides to finish the match by using her perfect ice mana manipulation.

Only for the Queen of Destruction to destroy most of the magic she manifests through pure destruction mana.

Roxanne's eyes narrow a little, but she doesn't stop. And after bombarding the Queen of Destruction with enough hits and her sheer amount of mana in comparison, her attacks finally begin to reach her.

One attack after another, Roxanne watches as the glowing crimson cracks on the Queen of Destruction's body grow brighter and brighter. With only a tiny portion of the damage dealt to her actually being received. The rest of it just being nullified entirely.

Which is terrifying to see, even if Roxanne already knew about her destruction resistance.

And to think these are still only the weakest skills in her Unique Skill Tree…

Roxanne doesn't give up no matter how little damage she's dealing, and soon the damage she's dealing grows greater. But after over ten minutes of attacking pass without Ashley doing much in return, Roxanne finally notices something.

An orange light is faintly beginning to shine from Ashley's hands. And that orange light is starting to spread onto Roxanne's body with every touch she makes.

What's…

Roxanne's eyes go wide when the orange light fully covers Roxanne's own fist, making it so that she can no longer move said fist anymore at all.

So she immediately backs away while looking down at her fist, then at Ashley again.

Just to find the girl smirking at her as her outfit once again repairs itself.

Roxanne grits her teeth – both from the pain of the damage from Ashley's eyes, which has been constantly compounding over the course of the battle, and from not being able to move her hand – before glancing at Ashley's wounds again. Then at her hand one last time.

At this rate, she'll freeze my entire body with whatever skill that is before I can finish her off…

She keeps gritting her teeth as she rushes backwards, out of the Queen of Destruction's reach. And without hesitation, she begins to freeze the entire arena around her. Sealing herself within the ice to protect herself from whatever skill Ashley is using.

But the Queen of Destruction just frowns before placing one hand in her pocket and walking up to the large chunk of ice and placing one hand on it.

Roxanne's attempts to think of a way to defeat her immediately come crashing down when the orange light begins to cover the ice. Seemingly freezing it as well.

How… what is this skill?!

Roxanne tries one skill after another in an attempt to attack the Queen of Destruction and stop her from doing whatever it is she's doing, but nothing she tries succeeds.

After all, she is a defense focused hunter. Not an offence focused one.

So over the course of several minutes, the orange glow finally spreads to the entire chunk of ice. Freezing everything inside of it, including Roxanne who can now only think.

She can't move even a single muscle, magical or physical.

Not even an inch.

And the experience is terrifying. So terrifying Roxanne wants to scream.

Especially as time itself seems to warp, making everything go by at a speed several thousand times slower than it should be going.

Ashley

Okay, so I froze her in time with Chrono Lock. So how exactly am I supposed to kill her now?

She's kind of stuck in time, and I don't really know if I can kill her right now.

Out of nowhere, the MC suddenly shouts, "And the winner has been decided through incapacitation of her opponent! The Queen of Destruction has won the duel!!!"

Oh. Guess I won't be killing her.

Well that's kind of annoying, since I honestly wanted her Skill Tree.

But whatever.

I won in the end, so it doesn't really matter all that much. And I got to test out Chrono Lock as well.

The girl I was fighting is suddenly teleported out of the ring along with the large chunk of ice she's inside. Appearing right next to her teammates.

But she's still frozen inside of the ice, which seems to surprise everyone quite a bit.

From the outside, the chunk of ice just looks like it has an orange glow to it. But I interestingly enough can't sense anything inside of it. Almost like the ice itself was cut off from everything outside of it.

"You need to unfreeze her if you ever want her able to move within the System Events again," Chaos comments rather nonchalantly, surprising me for a moment. "The System can't undo Chronos's signature Chrono Lock skill."

Oh. That's interesting.

Does that mean she'll be frozen when she leaves the System Even too?

"No, she actually won't be," Chaos answers, confusing me a little this time. "When you enter an Official System Event, the System does it by creating a copy of your body and placing it within the event. And if the event isn't one allowing revival, then it'll simply transfer all the damage from the copy to your real body in real-time. But if it does allow revival, then it is nothing more than a clone of you. Then the clone is sent back to the mortal universe after you are finished in the event."

Huh. So her clone is just frozen in the event?

"Yep," Chaos says with amusement clear in his voice. "If you leave her like that, the System won't make another clone of her, and she'll never be able to do anything in the events again. Outside of Domains, that is."

Interesting.

I guess I can always use the skill on people I hate to block them from ever participating in Official System Events again. Assuming the event I fight them in allows revival, because if it doesn't then it's just better to kill them and take their Skill Tree.

Anyways, I feel through the connection I felt establish when I froze her before cutting off the connection. Making the orange glow around the ice suddenly vanish before she begins to move again.

Although for some odd reason she has a rather terrified expression on her face when she looks at me now.

I wonder why?
