After resting a few days at the Tower of Chaos, I go ahead and begin entering Official System Events again. Starting with an event that is straight up a race. One where you technically can kill the other players, but most people only attack to slow them down. Not to kill them entirely.

Of course, I win almost immediately by charging my body with lightning and using it to move faster than they can even see.

And I actually accidentally kill some of the people I pass by without even trying. Simply by either looking at the low level people too long or due to the electricity I give off in passing.

But I make sure to activate Assimilate beforehand, so it's fine.

Plus this race is one where they revive afterwards.

None of their skills are particularly useful though. Which is a shame.

Following the race, I move on to another king of the hill type event. And just like that previous one, I win it with ease. Except with this one being even easier than the last since it's just a regular event and not a planetary one.

I just wipe out the entire map again. Simple enough.

Then I continue playing one event after another, shooting straight through several events in a single day. Which my fans seem to be extremely happy about. Even if some seem to be getting a bit bored, and others who are fans of other players are upset.

Those who seem upset at me slaughtering their favorites though miraculously disappear without another word though. Makes me wonder what happened to them.

Well, not really. Since it's kind of obvious what happened for the most part.

But I'd still like to pretend I don't know.

Amongst the events I participate in, I win another race – this one being with cars, but I just end up destroying the enemy cars by looking at them and winning that way – along with a quiz show that I win by destroying their buzzers with my gaze, and even an obstacle course. One I skip by using my shadows that I expand to teleport past obstacles.

So overall, I don't do any of the events the way they're technically meant to be done. But I still do them, and win every last one. So it's fine.

Too bad my level doesn't rise much during all of this. Because the enemies are all too low level for their EXP to matter much.

The only reason I'm still fighting in the events are for the Skill Points and for the Skill Trees they give me through Assimilate. And even those Skill Trees are rather useless for a lot of them.

But more skills are still more skills. Even if they're flooding my Skill Tree screen.

I let out a sigh at that thought before finally deciding to take a break from this binge. At which point I move on to exploring the Tower of Chaos.

Of course, every person I pass by in the tower instantly begins to kneel or bow before me as I pass. Which is awkward and weird, but not really unexpected. Considering who I am to them.

So I just ignore them as I wander the tower.

And continue wandering the tower.

And eventually get lost wandering the tower.

Shit, how do I even get back to my room?

I keep moving through the tower for a little bit before eventually just checking the forums centered around me as I do so. Because I don't seem to really be getting anywhere right now and I'm a little curious how the forums are reacting to seeing me not immediately joining another event.

And, the moment I do, I find my brow raising in vague amusement.

The forums are currently going absolutely ballistic right now.

There are people complaining about my absolute domination in events and how I'm repeatedly doing one after another without stopping, and there are people complaining that I just stopped. There are people arguing between those two factions. And a lot of the people in the faction that was complaining about me dominating miraculously disappear not long afterwards. Which I feel may have something to do with Chaos, but I kind of doubt.

After all, there's no way he's just monitoring everything and dealing with people as they say rude things about me, right?

Yeah, there's no way he'd just sit around and do that.

I convince myself of that before continuing on with my reading.

But that thought keeps creeping back in as I read more posts and find them miraculously disappearing sometimes while I'm in the middle of reading them. And even when some people catch on and begin hating on that, claiming censorship or something, they disappear too.

All the way until there are no more complaints about my actions. Only people praising me everywhere.

Huh…

I purse my lips as I continue walking aimlessly through the Tower of Chaos. Then I eventually get fed up with being lost and jump out the window before flying straight up to the top of the Tower.

Should've done this from the start…

Anyway, after getting to the top of the tower and just sitting on it, I look out at the other towers and the people moving between them. Most of whom are wearing the regular garb of the Tower of Chaos worshipers. But many of whom are not.

Most likely people coming here to meet me. Since it's public knowledge that I'm here right now.

I continue watching for a little while before flying off of this tower and heading towards another one. Only to get lost inside of this other tower as well.

A faint grimace spreads across my face.

What's worse than the fact that I'm getting lost is the fact that it doesn't activate Unchained. Meaning I'm not being bound by anything. I'm just straight up getting lost.

And that kind of injures my pride.

But there's not much I can do about it. So I eventually just fly out of the tower again and begin looking around the mountains themselves. Just trying to pass the time.

This is honestly rather boring.

I don't really have anything to do until the System Tower begins. So I'm kind of just left here to my own devices.

And since the Official System Events have gotten so boring by now – or at least the lower Class ones I'm stuck in have – I can't even do that. Nor can I really level up with the…

My thoughts trail off as an idea comes to mind.

Then a faint grin spreads across my face and I immediately contact the Tower Master asking if there are any Domains suitable for me nearby. Which doesn't actually seem to surprise her. Almost like she was expecting me to ask eventually.

To the point that she points me towards one right after hearing me ask, without any hesitation. Like it was already set aside for me to fight in.

As for the exact Class of the Domain?

This one is a Class C Gate.

A grin spreads across my face.

The Tower Master tells me to leave the Gate when I feel I'm at my limit, but to go wild until then. Or rather, they request it of me. Not actually order me to do it.

Chaos would probably have a fit if they did.

"You're right about that," Chaos's voice suddenly echoes in my head. "No one is allowed to threaten or order you to do anything."

Right. Just like those trolls on the internet.

"Yep," Chaos says, sounding like he's nodding his head to my words. "They should've kept their mouths… shut…"

So it was his doing after all.

His presence in my mind instantly vanishes, leaving me chuckling.

I feel like he's becoming a little overprotective. But I don't find it suffocating at all.

It actually feels a little cute. Especially considering how threatening his image is to the public.

After a moment to wonder just what happened to the people he punished, I decide to put that out of my mind as I make my way towards the Gate. Because I really want those levels.

It would be nice to reach the max level of Class D before the System Tower after all.
