Ascension of Chaos
Chapter 201 - B2 | Primordial Intermission
Within the Tower of Time
Chronos watches silently as Ashley attempts his Domain within the System Tower. Not saying a word despite the chatterbox seated on his own makeshift throne next to him.
"-so she started blushing really adorably! It was the greatest thing ever!" Chaos exclaims, going on and on about his new daughter as he's been doing ever since Ashley entered the System Tower Domain.
The Primordial of Time doesn't pay any attention to the babbling Primordial of Chaos. He just focuses on his Domain while watching Ashley, who is currently entering one of the minor boss areas of his Domain. Where she ends up facing off against a large clockwork golem standing at three meters in height at the center of a large gear.
So far the girl has done well fighting in his Domain. And she's taken advantage of her Unchained Successor Skill to bypass several aspects of his Domain that normally cause trouble for others.
But that doesn't bother Chronos in the least. Because she's just using her skills to her advantage and nothing more.
If someone has skills and they don't use them in whatever way they can, then they're wasting their powers.
And there's nothing Chronos likes less than wasteful things that can lead to less efficient use of time.
Chronos watches as the Successor of Chaos tries out a few different things on the minor boss. First using her Gaze of Destruction to deal true damage, then trying out time magic on it only to fail due to her lack of control, and then just attacking at a range with destruction magic. Since the clockwork monster has time slowed down to a crawl around it.
I don't know what it is, but watching her is unusually intriguing…
He slowly taps his finger on his throne's armrest as Chaos continues to spout embarrassing lines about his daughter.
And for a very brief moment, Chronos wonders if he should try making her his Successor as well. But part of him knows that Chaos would never share a Successor with someone else.
Ever.
Chronos wouldn't be surprised if Chaos would rather set loose armies of monsters free from his Tower than let another Primordial lay any sort of claim on his beloved daughter.

Giving her Successor skills every now and then is likely the only way Chronos can see Chaos allowing him to help.
With that thought in mind, Chronos silently watches Ashley defeat the minor boss, following which she grows confused when a portal leading back to where she came from appears.
I should send one of the children to her world to ally with her.
Within the Tower of Life
Gaia smiles as she watches the many different people all across the System Tower. Only occasionally showing hints of sadness when some of them end up losing their lives, having to hold herself back from reviving them.
Because the other Primordials would get upset if she revives too many people out of nothing but sympathy and sadness.
It's something she used to do. Just revive people when she saw them die.
But the other Primordials started getting onto her about it, specifically Justicar. Making her stop doing it on anyone other than some of her own followers and Successors here and there.
It doesn't take long for her attention to be claimed by the poor, pitiful child that Chaos took under his wing though.
Gaia has felt worry for her ever since she heard about her circumstances. About her family, her lost memories, and how she was treated in the past.
It's all made her want to do nothing but coddle the girl and hold her in her arms.
But this isn't the first time she's felt this way about a mortal child. So she knows how to hold herself back.
And the child in question is strong as well. She isn't someone who holding like that would work on.
Leaving Gaia no choice but to watch from afar.
Part of her is overjoyed to see Chaos caring so much about someone though. Since she's always worried about Chaos.
For as long as she's known him, she has never seen him care about anything at all. Even when he was with Etheria, his minimal care for her was always hidden behind his chaotic personality along with several self-made walls.
But when he interacts with his new daughter, he is open. Carefree. And not afraid to shower her with affection.
It warms Gaia's heart.
Within the Void
A massive mass of flesh, tentacles, eyes, and scales occasionally pulses like a heartbeat at the center of the Void. The heart of the Void.
A place akin to the Towers of the other Primordials.
Meanwhile the gaze of each eye stays solely focused on the System Tower, with only one eye branched out to look at the world of Val.
Without even a single eye showing any emotion or hints towards the Primordial of Void's current thoughts.
But after several minutes of staring, the pulsating mass slowly shrinks down to the size of a single humanoid being. That of a single woman with pitch black hair that leads those who look at it into a state of empty-mindedness, just like her pitch black eyes. Meanwhile parts of her body occasionally turn into naught but the void, merging into her surroundings before reappearing again.
Then she opens a rift in front of her and passes through it without ever blinking or saying a word.
