CHAPTER 54: BLOOD PACT TO ALL

Great beasts, huh! Great divine beasts. Although they may sound fundamentally incompatible, when traced back to their origins, they are all great demons cultivated from ancient mystical creatures, with no essential difference.

Among the four great divine beasts of antiquity, the White Tiger and the Black Tortoise have already perished. Among the great evil beasts, only Uroboros and Taotie remain.

After the great calamity of "The Toppling of the Heavenly Pillars," mana grew thin. They were either sealed away or fell into deep slumber.

Now, for reasons unknown, they have all awakened simultaneously, and due to past grievances, they confront one another once more.

In this era of scarce mana, these ancient great demons can only exert power equivalent to the Heaven Rank.

With Jennifer joining the fray, the situation immediately shifted to three against two.

"Enough idle talk. Are you going to fight or not?" Uroboros impatiently cut off the Vermilion Bird’s lecturing. "If not, I will return with Taotie to dine."

He had used magic to preserve Jameson’s corpse for a long time, precisely to wait for Taotie to feast together—this was his method of winning her over.

"So what?" Uroboros replied coldly. "At worst, I die here today, but before I do, I swear I will take you down with me."

The Azure Dragon shook his head, his expression icy. "Utter foolishness."

Negotiations broke down. Demons and humans alike stirred their true energy, ready to battle.

The Azure Dragon let out a long roar, striking first. Deep blue rays of light shot out one after another, assailing Uroboros and the Vermilion Bird respectively.

The Vermilion Bird and Jennifer’s red and white true energy followed mere milliseconds later.

On the opposing side, the instant the Azure Dragon attacked, Uroboros also roared fiercely. Pale demonic energy rapidly expanded, covering the sky and earth, simultaneously meeting the three incoming attacks.

"I’ll hold them off, you flank and attack!"

Uroboros loudly instructed Taotie on tactics, but to his surprise, Taotie responded without hesitation: "No!"

Taotie felt that fighting two against three was disadvantageous, so she simply turned and fled in a flash, leaving Uroboros alone on the battlefield.

Jennifer, the Azure Dragon, and the Vermilion Bird tacitly agreed not to pursue Taotie. Instead, they quickly dispersed, forming a triangular formation to surround Uroboros. White, blue, and red true energy relent assailed him, leaving him flustered and overwhelmed.

"Traitor! Filthy bastard!" The abandoned Uroboros cursed furiously, but it was useless against the current situation.

Surrounded by three enemies of equal strength, Uroboros truly could think of no way to break out. The opponents’ attacks grew increasingly fierce; he couldn’t even properly block or evade, let alone counterattack. Several wounds already covered his body.

"Surrender now!" the Azure Dragon urged loudly while attacking. "As long as you are willing to return to the Son in Law God’s seal, I will spare your life!"

"Don’t delude yourself!" Uroboros snarled viciously. "If I die, you won’t get off easy either!"

After uttering this threat, Uroboros suddenly ignored the relentless attacks and withdrew all his blazing demonic energy back into his body.

"Not good! He’s going to self destruct, fall back!" The battle experienced Azure Dragon immediately recognized Uroboros’s intent to perish together with his foes and urgently shouted a warning, but it was still a step too late.

Uroboros’s small body suddenly exploded, boundless demonic energy transforming into a violent shockwave that swept across everything in its path.

The first to bear the brunt were Jennifer, the Azure Dragon, and the Vermilion Bird, who had surrounded him. They were sent flying, plummeting down from the mountainside.

The range of this shockwave was immense; even Lucas and the others hiding in the shadows felt their internal organs churning violently from the impact.

If not for the mountain shielding them, Lucas, whose cultivation was only at the first rank, would have died on the spot.

Once the shockwave subsided, Lucas rushed out and first found Jennifer, who had been sent flying once again.

This time, she wasn’t unconscious, but she lay on the ground, unable to stand.

Lucas crouched down, took Jennifer’s fair and delicate hand, and pretended to channel his energy while secretly healing her injuries.

In less than two minutes, Jennifer’s wounds had completely vanished.

"No need to hurry." Lucas’s smile grew even brighter. He activated his Space Ring and opened a portal glowing with blue light. "Honored ones, please rest for a while first."
