CHAPTER 176: CHAPTER 176: WEDDING SWEETS

Tian Xiang and Meng Cheng’an’s wedding banquet in Beijing was arranged for the next day.

After getting off the plane, a car came to pick them up. The group first went to a hotel for lunch, then to see the new house near the Military and Political Institute, and had dinner at home, staying there for the night.

The old man went to his son’s place, and both aunts from the Meng Family were in their respective homes, directly giving the two-story small villa here to the Tian Family.

While going to sleep, Hu Honglian was still remarking to her husband, relieved that the old man liked their daughter.

In marriage, whether the husband is caring is one thing, but the elders’ attitude is equally important.

The next day, Tian Xiang and Meng Cheng’an got up early. Tian Xiang cooked porridge while Meng Cheng’an went to the canteen to buy breakfast. The family had breakfast, then changed clothes and got ready to head to the hotel.

This wedding banquet wasn’t as grand as the previous one, it was just a meal to let Tian Xiang get to know Meng Family’s relatives and friends here.

Everyone just needed to change into their clothes; there were no special programs.

The wedding banquet started at 11:30 in the morning and slowly wrapped up after two o’clock, with a total of about twenty tables.

Once these affairs were completed, the matter of their marriage was considered completely settled.

In the following two days, Tian Xiang and Meng Cheng’an took the Tian family around for some sightseeing, they went to a square and a park, and in the evening, they even went to a concert.

After playing for two days, the Tian family members were about to return home by train, no longer wanting to take the plane.

After sending off her parents, brother, and sister-in-law, Tian Xiang completely relaxed, sitting idly on the sofa for more than half an hour after returning home.

Meng Cheng’an cut some fruit and handed it over, "What’s up?"

At night, Tian Xiang packed her wardrobe a bit, getting her luggage ready to take to school.

Even though they were married, they both were still in school, so they had to be a weekend couple for the time being.

This time, the two got married during the winter vacation, neither invited the other’s classmates, Tian Xiang said she’d treat the people in her dorm to a meal after school started to officially announce their relationship.

Meng Cheng’an: "Just invite the people over there, no need for mine."

Meng Cheng’an was on average terms with his classmates.

Tian Xiang: "Okay."

Actually, she mainly wanted to invite Xiao Lei; she wasn’t too familiar with the other two, and they most likely wouldn’t return to the dorm on the first day of school.

That was Tian Xiang’s plan, but upon returning to the dorm at the start of the school term, surprisingly, everyone was there, and Chang Wan was boasting to the two girls about her acting experience out of the province during the winter break.

In Drama College, performing on stage was the focus in the past, but as the society opened in recent years, more films and TV dramas were being shot than before, and students, mainly focused on the stage, naturally began leaning in that direction.

However, being only freshmen, their studies remained the priority, and with limited resources for now, only those with connections and conditions got early opportunities to be in the limelight, like Chang Wan.

Chang Wan’s dad was in the Ministry of Culture.

At the end of last semester, Tian Xiang had heard rumors about Chang Wan acting, so she wasn’t surprised when she brought it up now.

The other two girls were really envious; after all, who didn’t dream of the screen upon entering this university?

Seeing Tian Xiang return, Chang Wan even gave her a small purse with ethnic characteristics, something she bought from the filming location, a gift for everyone in the dorm.

Though Tian Xiang really didn’t like dealing with antagonists, being in the same class and dorm, they maintained a superficial classmate relationship, so she accepted the gift.

Chang Wan, feeling proud, couldn’t help but ask Tian Xiang, "What about you, did you do anything besides staying at home during this winter vacation?"

Of course, she did.

Tian Xiang set down her luggage, took out a pack of chocolate candies from her bag, handed some to each, and then smiled and said, "Wedding sweets. I got married to my partner during this winter vacation."

Chang Wan was petrified on the spot, while the other two cheered happily, asking Tian Xiang to treat them.

No problem with treating them, it would be tonight, as there were no classes in the afternoon. She’d call Meng Cheng’an’s side from the reception room later to inform him.

Now the school’s reception room has telephones for use, but it’s quite expensive.

"Chang Wan, Chang Wan?"

Tian Xiang patted the person frozen in place, asking her with a smile, "Are you coming for dinner tonight?"

Chang Wan snapped back to reality, faced Tian Xiang’s brilliant smile, shook her head, and said, "You guys go ahead, I have something to do."

Saying that, Chang Wan picked up her bag and walked off directly.

This person, is really strange.

Xiao Lei and Zhao Qian exchanged a puzzled look.

Tian Xiang understood though, that person was shaken, feeling upset inside.

Chang Wan indeed felt crushed, her mind was blank, and she almost fell down the stairs.

After finally walking out of the dorm area, she looked at the candies in her hand, with red eyes, feeling both angry and stifled.

Chang Wan knew those two would eventually get to this day, she was mentally prepared, yet truly facing it, she couldn’t help but feel jealousy, it was too uncomfortable.

Just thinking of Tian Xiang’s smug look made Chang Wan furious, and she threw all the candies in her hand into a nearby trash bin.

It was at this moment that Lu Feng came over, even stretching his neck to see what Chang Wan had thrown away, smiling as he asked, "What’s up?"

Such good chocolate candies, only available at the foreign trade store.

Chang Wan’s tone was unpleasant, "Nothing."

Lu Feng wasn’t upset at being snapped at, he just stood silently by her side, waiting for her mood to ease a bit before asking, "Have you eaten yet? I can accompany you to eat."

Chang Wan: "Don’t want to eat."

She was already full of anger.

Lu Feng: "Then do me a favor and keep me company, I didn’t even have breakfast."

Lu Feng was racking his brains to please the person before him.

Chang Wan felt a little better, looking at his gentle and refined face, taking a deep breath and said, "Let’s go."

In the afternoon, after Meng Cheng’an received his wife’s call, he took the car over.

The couple treated Xiao Lei and Zhao Qian to dinner at a restaurant near the school.

The news of their marriage quickly spread through the Drama College.

Some who used to like Tian Xiang were secretly waiting for her to become single again, but now that was completely off the table.

While there was some regret, the two were a perfect match, and after the sadness, there was still blessing for them.

For their marriage, the school even issued a certificate for them to get the marriage license, so the teachers all knew about Tian Xiang marrying into the Meng Family.

Tian Xiang clearly felt that teachers and leaders were increasingly polite to her.

Though she didn’t particularly like it, there was nothing she could do, you can control yourself, but not others.

In the coming days, Tian Xiang and Meng Cheng’an lived as weekend couples.

After classes on Saturday, Meng Cheng’an would come to pick her up, they would go back to the Military and Political Institute area, and return to school on Sunday nights.

In early May, after organizing a performance, the drama that Chang Wan acted in was broadcasted. A small role, with little screen time and few lines.

Yet, it still made everyone envious, and just then, Xiao Lei told Tian Xiang privately, that Chang Wan was secretly dating someone from the Normal School, she saw them hugging once outside.
