CHAPTER 275: CHAIRMAN LOGAN

"That’s him. He’s the one who attacked us."

Everyone’s eyes turned to the middle-aged man. Strangely, they felt like they knew him, as if they had seen him somewhere before.

It took a moment for their memories to catch up and identify the man’s identity.

"Isn’t that Kaelos, the Guild Master of Sairon Blade?"

"That’s right! I’m sure it’s him. That hair and that sword—they can only belong to the Guild Master of Sairon Blade."

"But why would Mr. Kaelos attack us?" Simon looked at Lana in disbelief.

"Well, he just wants to destroy the world," Lana shrugged. She naturally wasn’t telling the truth.

If she said it was probably all because of Daniel, their view of him could get completely ruined, and she couldn’t let that happen.

"Then where is the Guild Master? And Mr. Schneitz? Why is no one stopping him?"

Everyone turned to Lana again. From their point of view, as long as Schneitz got involved, this problem would be solved.

But then, where was he now?

She shrugged again. She was also hoping her grandfather would appear, but she didn’t know where he was. Most likely, he was in the Federation right now.

"Hmm? Look over there." Daniel, who had been watching the live feed the entire time, staring at Kaelos, suddenly noticed something.

Everyone turned and fixed their eyes on the display. Strangely, spatial cracks appeared all over the sky—right next to Kaelos.

"Those are...?"

"That’s right! Mr. Schneitz finally arrived!"

Meanwhile, outside the private dimension, Kaelos, without even turning around, sensed the presence of those who had arrived.

"Old man, got scared and went to bring reinforcements?"

"Kaelos. You still have a chance. Hand over the ring and we’ll let this go." Schneitz ignored his words and spoke in a calm, serious tone.

Even though they had brought backup, if a battle really started, things could get extremely dangerous—especially with that ring involved.

"Ha ha ha..." Kaelos’ loud laughter rang out. Laughter filled with obvious mockery.

He turned slowly, and with his turn, the distortion in space became more intense.

"Look at this. Even the Chairman of the National Awakened Association came here. How are you, Mr. Logan?" His eyes fell on an older man with neatly trimmed short gray hair.

"I’m doing fine, Kaelos. How about you?" The Chairman of the Awakened Association smiled.

"I’m not fine, Mr. Chairman. I’m tired, angry, and more importantly... I want revenge."

"We’re only here for the ring. As long as you hand it over, we can back off." Logan answered with the same smile.

However, the only response he got was Kaelos’ deranged laughter.

"Mr. Chairman, I’m not just talking about avenging my son... I want revenge for my wife’s death as well. Do you think I let that bastard old man go get your help because I couldn’t kill him?"

The Chairman’s and his people’s expressions darkened. They clearly understood what the Sairon Blade leader meant.

However, Schneitz looked a bit confused for a moment, then suddenly frowned as if he realized something.

"He said he wants to take revenge for both his wife and son. What does his wife’s death have to do with you all?" He looked at Logan and his people and asked.

"Oh? So you didn’t know? I see. The Chairman covered up the mess he made. Ha ha. Why am I even surprised? I should have expected that," Kaelos mocked.

"This isn’t the time to talk, Schneitz. We’ll discuss this later." The Chairman stroked his beard and said.

"Old man, I’m willing to let you and your guild go. Just hand over the kid and back off from helping the Chairman."

As his words echoed, the space around them became heavier, the temperature dropped by a few degrees, and even Logan’s face darkened.

He realized he had fallen into a trap. Unless he killed this bastard, he couldn’t leave this place. But this didn’t apply to Schneitz.

Schneitz and Kaelos had no personal grudge. He could leave anytime he wanted.

"That’s a tempting offer. But like I told you, that kid is under my protection. As long as you leave him alone, I won’t interfere with Logan either."

"Hey, Schneitz, we’re friends. How can you—" But before the Chairman could finish speaking, Kaelos sighed and interrupted.

"No. I want both of them. If you won’t back down, then today you will die." He looked more intently at his enemies.

"Die? Look around you. You’re the one who’s going to die. We’ll take the ring back." Schneitz growled.

Two National Rank Awakened—Schneitz and the Chairman of the National Awakened Association—plus four Rank S Awakened were present. Those Rank S’s were the Federation’s vice-commanders and commanders.

Besides, if Kaelos was stupid enough to use the ring, his aura would spread instantly across the entire country, and the other Rank S and National Rank Awakened—like the former Guild Master of the Goblin Guild—would all come to help.

In fact, even now, Schneitz could feel the gazes of all those bastards watching this place. Every single one of them was looking here.

Why weren’t they helping? Simple. Those bastards wanted Schneitz and the Chairman of the National Awakened Association to get injured or weakened during the fight with Kaelos. Once that happened, they could change the country’s balance of power.

’Idiots. As long as this bastard doesn’t use the ring, any of us can crush him with a single finger. If he does use the ring, then all those useless old men will have to come help. A win-win situation.’ Schneitz laughed to himself.

He had his own plans and ambitions. For his guild to become the strongest, this battle was the perfect opportunity.

"Then let’s see who dies today." Kaelos growled coldly and raised his sword.

Suddenly, a terrifying aura burst out from his sword, making it feel like the world itself was burning.

"This sword? Why is its aura so terrifying? Could it be? No... it shouldn’t be possible."

Unfortunately, Schneitz and the Chairman had greatly underestimated Kaelos’ power. Even without the ring, he was hiding far more than they realized.
