CHAPTER 419: PARADISE INN

Daniel and Andreas had barely managed to escape that succubus and boarded a carriage. Naturally, their destination was the Paradise inn.

After thinking it through, they decided that with their current clothes and appearance, the better choice was to arrive there by carriage. After all, they needed to look as wealthy as possible.

"These clothes are uncomfortable," Andreas grumbled. However, his voice was no longer masculine, which made his complaining sound a little funny.

"You’ll get used to it," Daniel laughed.

"I have no interest in getting used to it. Your plan better work," Andreas said harshly, clearly struggling to hold back his anger.

Still, he knew he had to endure all this if he wanted to reach his goal. He only hoped his family—and especially Ilaris—would never find out about this.

Seeing that his friend was truly angry, Daniel stopped teasing him and stayed quiet. The rest of the ride went by peacefully until they finally arrived.

From the carriage windows, they saw the massive crowd gathered outside the inn, something that surprised both of them.

But they didn’t think too much about it and stepped out. Immediately, many eyes turned toward them.

Longing and greedy stares fell on Andreas, while Daniel received seductive and lustful looks. Some people even widened their eyes in shock after seeing the two.

"How does it feel to be the center of attention?" Daniel laughed, glancing at Andreas.

"Shut up, or I’ll tell your wife what that succubus tried to do to you," Andreas snorted coldly.

"First of all, I don’t have a wife. Second, that succubus didn’t do anything. She tried, but I knocked her out. You saw that yourself."

"Does it even matter what really happened? Everyone prefers to believe rumors over the truth. Besides, as the only witness, any lie I tell becomes the truth." Andreas shrugged.

"...."

Daniel closed his mouth, didn’t say anything else, and simply walked calmly toward the entrance of the inn.

In fact, calling it an inn was a mistake. It was almost insulting to name such a place that. What stood before them was a massive and magnificent palace built and decorated with soil and marble.

There were many guards outside, and Daniel could even feel multiple arrays set up solely for protection.

And that was just outside the palace. Who knew how many more guards and defensive arrays were inside?

Andreas walked beside him. The crowd stepped aside to clear a path, and before long they reached the entrance. However, two guards blocked their way.

"If you’re here for the party, please show an invitation. And if you’ve booked a room, please show your entry card," one guard said politely.

Normally, they would speak harshly until they were sure someone was a legitimate guest. But the attire, aura, and bearing of this man and woman gave the guards the strong impression that they were dealing with nobles.

They didn’t dare to be disrespectful.

Daniel said nothing and handed over the invitation he had purchased. The guard took a short glance, then opened the way.

However, they didn’t fully accept it yet. Even though it looked genuine, they still had to cross-check it later once the detailed guest list was delivered.

For now, the only thing confirming its validity was the seal on the paper, which appeared authentic.

Without saying anything else, Daniel and Andreas entered. Once they stepped past the threshold, both let out a breath of relief. Luckily, nothing went wrong.

"So what now?" Andreas asked.

"The guards mentioned a party. Let’s ask around a bit and head there. Maybe we can find the target inside." Daniel paused to think before answering.

At the same time, he summoned a few of his Fallen, the ones skilled in stealth and reconnaissance, including Elarion. He ordered them to scour the palace and locate the target.

After that, the two of them walked through the hallways until they reached the waiting area, where the reception desks were located. The design and luxury of the place caught their attention for a moment.

They went to the counter. To their surprise, none of the four receptionists were human. Each belonged to a different race.

Daniel approached the receptionist who was a cat-girl.

"Hello, beautiful lady."

"Ah? Hello, dear guest." For a moment, the cat-girl was dazed by his charm, but she quickly steadied her mind. Still, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.

"We came for the party, but we don’t know exactly where to go."

"Party? Do you mean young master Aden’s birthday celebration?" the cat-girl asked.

"That’s right." A smile appeared on Daniel’s face—he hadn’t expected to be this lucky.

"You need to go to the top floor. The birthday banquet is being held in the hall on the 21st floor."

"Thank you." Both Daniel and Andreas expressed their gratitude and then walked toward the magic elevators. Thankfully, this place had elevators, so they didn’t have to climb stairs.

After they left, the cat-girl let out a sigh and then smacked herself on the head after remembering something. As far as she knew, to enter young master Aden’s birthday, the guests’ blood had to be tested to make sure they were legitimate and not impostors.

That was a security measure—after all, the young lord himself would be attending tonight.

But she had been so distracted that she completely forgot to check the blood of those two.

"Well, they didn’t look like impostors anyway..." she thought.

By thinking about the faces of those two people, she became more certain that they were not frauds. After all, no matter how much a fraud might be able to change their face, they could never change their aura, right?

And in her mind, those two appeared more noble than anyone else she had ever seen.

Yet unfortunately, she did not know what kind of disaster she had just allowed to enter...

Meanwhile, Daniel and Andreas arrived at the doors of the banquet hall where the birthday celebration was being held. The doors opened automatically, and they stepped inside.
