CHAPTER 275: CHAPTER 275: FREE MEAL SCAMMER

She descended the stairs and from a distance saw a wall of people gathered downstairs.

Due to her elevated position, she could easily see the situation inside the wall of people.

A middle-aged man, about forty-something with thinning hair, was cursing at a young female waitress.

The waitress looked to be around twenty, head bowed, fingers tightly clutching the edge of her clothes, her face flushed with either anger or anxiety.

"Don’t try to fool me with some BS leadership. Return the money and ticket, or else, I’m not leaving today."

The waitress kept apologizing, "Sir, I’m really sorry. Please bear with us a little longer..."

"Screw your patience. My time is valuable, cut the crap, return the money and ticket, hurry up!"

"I’m just a waitress, please don’t make it hard for me. Just wait a little longer."

The waitress was almost in tears, looking around for help.

Though many were watching the scene, seeing the man’s menacing demeanor, no one dared to step forward and assist.

Su Xiaoxiao frowned. She wasn’t particularly kind-hearted, but couldn’t stand seeing people bully the weak.

As tears were about to fall from the waitress’s eyes, Su Xiaoxiao squeezed into the crowd. "You said there’s hair in the noodles, where is it? Let me see."

The middle-aged man heard her voice and turned to see a young girl, a disdainful look flashed in his eyes.

What could a young girl do?

Very rudely, he slammed the bowl of soup left from the noodles onto the table. "Look at this, several strands of hair in here. How can anyone eat this?"

Su Xiaoxiao leaned forward to look at the hair in the noodle bowl.

In the rough porcelain bowl, the noodles had been entirely consumed, leaving only a thin layer of soup, making the two or three strands of hair particularly conspicuous.

Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but tut inwardly. Earlier she had been uncertain, as finding hair in noodle bowls was relatively common.

But now she was sure, the hair in this bowl was definitely not there from the start.

She withdrew her gaze and asked the waitress with teary eyes beside her, "Miss, could you please call out the chef who prepared the noodles?"

The waitress, seeing a stranger young girl, first hesitated, then nodded, "Sure, I’ll go call."

With that, she quickly entered the kitchen.

Before long, a middle-aged woman with a chef’s hat emerged following the waitress.

Su Xiaoxiao’s gaze swept over the slightly yellowed white chef hat. "Miss, could you please take off the hat for us to see?"

The female chef had heard about the commotion outside and nonchalantly took off the hat.

The middle-aged man immediately shouted, "Look at that, a chef with such long hair, obviously it’ll fall into the food."

"Everyone should be careful while eating, if someone accidentally ingests it, how gross would that be."

The female chef replied, displeased, "What’s wrong with me having long hair? I always wear a hat while cooking, there’s no way hair can fall in."

"No loose hair, then what is this?"

The middle-aged man triumphantly held up the noodle bowl, "Take a good look, don’t say I falsely accused you."

The female chef saw the hair in the bowl and was stumped. She clearly pays attention while cooking, how could this happen?

The middle-aged man’s confidence grew, he raised an eyebrow at Su Xiaoxiao. "Alright, everything is clear now, hurry up with the compensation!"

Many in the surrounding crowd began to discuss, while the female chef stood amidst them with a sullen face, starting to doubt if she indeed accidentally dropped the hair.

Amidst random thoughts, a crisp and clear voice sounded, "Everyone sees clearly, right? This chef’s hair is curly, but the hair in the bowl is straight, meaning it can’t be the chef’s."

Su Xiaoxiao resisted nausea and picked up the strands of hair from the noodle soup with chopsticks, raising them for all to see.

All eyes were fixated on those hairs, which were not only straight but short.

Their gaze unconsciously shifted to the sparse hair of the middle-aged man...

Seeing that everyone was staring at him, the man immediately panicked, "Where did this hair come from? Even if it’s not the chef’s, it must be the waitress’s."

The crowd then looked at the waitress, who hadn’t permed her hair, but hers was straight and long.

"Enough, you put hair in the bowl yourself trying to get a free meal, how shameless can you be?"

Su Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but directly expose his nonsense.

The middle-aged man glared at her viciously, "What are you babbling about? Be careful or I’ll report you to the police for slander."

"No need for you to report, anyone willing to help can head to the police station nearby and call a couple of officers over."

He originally thought it was just young girls he could easily deceive, but didn’t expect this girl would really want to call the police, he immediately grew anxious.

He only wanted a free bowl of noodles, he hadn’t planned on ending up in a police cell.

Many in the crowd came to the realization and someone, indignant, raised a hand, "I’ll go."

The city police station is just one street away from the state-owned restaurant, a round trip takes no more than ten minutes.

For those with a quicker pace, it might not even take ten minutes.

Hearing the talk about reporting to the police, the male wad’s face changed immediately.

"Alright, it’s just a bowl of noodles, fine, I won’t pursue this any further."

He then grabbed his bag from the chair and sneakily squeezed through the crowd to leave.

The waitress and chef regained themselves and hurriedly thanked Su Xiaoxiao, "Miss, thank you so much for handling the situation just now."

While they were speaking, a middle-aged woman wearing a gray lady’s suit with ear-length short hair, appearing very competent, emerged from the crowd.

"What’s going on? Where’s the troublemaker?"

The waitress turned around and saw her manager, quickly pointed at Su Xiaoxiao, "Manager Chen, thanks to this young lady, the troublemaker has already left."

Manager Chen nodded at Su Xiaoxiao, "Miss, I’m the manager of this state-owned restaurant. Thank you for your help earlier, today’s expenses are all waived for you."

Su Xiaoxiao hurriedly waved she had one again eating, "No, how is that appropriate? I’ll pay as usual."

The state-owned restaurant was public property; if she didnt pay, someone might cover the costs for her.

She didnt expect her response, there were quite the few high-end purchases) she looked at her more as a friend and nodded as she said partnered it.

Upon his notice to provide, so in addition to a good friend there 정도 선에서 오늘 음식. 고마워요.

It looked like this girl was young but she was loyal, and she liked her, so she would the chef add two more meat dishes as a token of gratitude for today

Su Xiaoxiao knew it would be too coy to refuse further, so agreed.

...

She opened the door to the private room and saw Song Weidong and Zhou Cheng sitting face to face, both looking a bit uneasy.
