CHAPTER 16: CHAPTER 16: DRAGON HAKI

He ran as fast as he could, his body blurred over 200 metres away then he heard a booming sound behind him and the next moment the owl was above him brandishing it claws to his back.

He met the claw with his tail, the collision caused a shockwave that sent both of them flying in opposite directions. He rolled on the ground for a few metres then continued running.

Although it looked like he was sent flying the truth is he won that exchange, he allowed himself to be pushed forward. 2 more booms followed.

With his 360° vision he could see the tiger and monkey move, each easily breaking the sound barrier. That level of speed was insane.

The monkey reached him first, it slammed it stick at his back, he met the stick with his claw. It was heavy and hard, he felt as if he was hitting a metal mountain.

But he was still stronger, the monkey was sent flying backwards like a comet but he loosened his body allowing himself to be sent flying again.

He was aware he couldn’t match any of their speed so using their attacks to boost himself was the best strategy in this situation. Whilst mid air he breathed a cloud of purple poison.

It spread so fast it covered dozens of metres in a blink. Just as he was about to turn around and run the poison cloud parted, from within came a giant flaming tiger.

The temperature around him rose to ridiculous proportions, the surrounding grass and trees burst into flames even before the tiger touched the ground.

He felt uncomfortable and thirsty, the lesser swamp Dragon is an aquatic creature so it made sense that it was weak to fire. He knew he couldn’t meet the tiger head on.

So he coated his body with transparent sticky fluid like poison, it was not lethal but it properties made it very good as defence, it bubble like nature could distribute and deflect force, it acted like an airbag.

The moment the flaming claws met the bubble rap poison they sizzled and slowly died out. He breathed another cloud of poison at the Tiger forcing it to jump backwards.

The only creature yet to move was the snake not that he was complaining. He continued running then fell face flat and rolled on the ground.

When he turned to look he saw his back legs covered in a layer of hard marble like stone. He looked at the snake and saw a golden brown light radiating from it eyes.

’ Petrification? Just had to be a cursed ocular ability’ Ved even in his past life as an anime fan hated ocular abilities. He thought they were unfair, as long as you’re in their line of sight you were doomed.

How is that fair?, because of that he disliked the snake even more than the others. He flexed his legs muscles and the stone shattered.

He spit a blob of poison like a cannon ball at the snake but it turned into stone mid air. Before he could continue running the monkey and tiger blocked his path.

He sighed, the only reason he was able to get this far without much trouble was because of their lack of cooperation. Although he was stronger than them individually, fighting all of them at the same time will not be easy.

He was ready to be jumped but that did not happen. ’ This seems familiar’ then it dawn on him, this was the second time he came across a group of awakened creatures fighting each other.

And all of them suddenly turned against him. ’ Am I cursed, do I perhaps stink to awakened creatures?’ they surrounded him in four directions.

He knew this was getting serious, the truth is he wasn’t going all out as well. The owl turned into a wind drill and flew at him. He met it with his claw.

The ground below him cracked and sparks flew but he did not back down. He pushed and sent it flying a hundred metres away, it body destroyed all the trees and stones in it path.

He jumped up and suddenly sharp earth sparks grew where he was, he was glad he could smell the essence energy the other creatures use, it’s the only way he can know an attack is coming. He turned his attention to the snake while making sure to watch the others.

The giant snake lunged at him, it giant maw wide enough to swallow him whole opened like a cave. He jumped to the side and bashed it head with his claw.

It scales were very tough but they still cracked and blood spurted out like a fountain but the wound was minor. Before he could attack it again he was forced to block a wooden stick covered in a purple aura.

It was much heavier than before, so heavy it visibly bent the air around it. The ground below him shattered and rocks were sent flying like bullets.

He grabbed the stick with his claw and he felt like he was holding a mountain. It was heavy, ridiculously so. Just holding the stick drained his stamina like an opened dam.

He was about to breath a cloud of poison to it face when a literal wave of fire came rolling at him. He let go of the stick and jumped back to dodge but he was too slow.

The fire wave washed over him and he felt his insides dry up, if he stayed in this fire any longer he will die. It seems his weakness to fire was more severe than he thought.

He neutralised it with poison, when everything cleared they appeared still surrounding him. Although not good their teamwork was improving and that wasn’t good knews for him.

That fire had drained too much stamina from him, if he doesn’t end this fight quickly he will most likely perish here and he was not having that.

So activated his ability Haki Armour a black sharp aura covered his body, he could faintly hear roars of dragons and clanks of swords around him.

They too followed, a green aura that stirred the wind for the owl, a brown heavy and stiff aura for the python but not like the mother armadillo, a red hot aura for the tiger but the most unique one was the monkey.

It aura was heavy but not like the earth aura, it drew things around it. Leaves, wind and even tiny rocks started floating around the monkey.

’ Gravity? Interesting, well then, COME’ he roared in his head then they all moved.
