CHAPTER 34: CHAPTER 34:SNOW DANCE

" Ice fall" Naledi whispered, from the sky a rain of ice spikes descended and impaled hundreds of enemies before her. She looked around the battlefield and saw the fear in her soldiers eyes.

She couldn’t blame them, the scene before them could break anyone’s will but not her. She swung her vessel which was a thin blue sword with an ice lily on the rissaco.

A wave of pure white snow blasted out from it and froze everything in a kilometre infront of her. Arrows descended from the wooden wall killing a few weaker beasts.

She looked at the blood red moon above her, it had grown larger, almost a full moon now. Even she was getting worried, not for herself, this wasn’t a threat to her.

She was worried about the others, especially Cat, that girl was too reckless. The beasts had been growing stronger and more violent as the moon became larger.

" Ahhhh" a man screamed to her left, a dog sizes cat had ripped his arm to the bone with it claws. More screams followed " Life field" a soft whisper echoed across the battlefield.

A green forcefield passed through her and she felt her stamina regenerate, even her essence regenated slightly. Those who were wounded saw their wounds heal rapidly within this domain.

This was Cathras skill, skills were unique abilities of vessels. Even vessels with the same elementary power could have different skills.

Vessels were very versatile in their usage, like hers for example. She could control ice and snow, shape and make it as she sees fit as long as she had essence.

But skills were different, they were rigid but more powerful. From the records left by their predecessors, skills contain the will

images of their creators.

So for weaker characters with undefined will images, the skills gives them a straight,clear path making it easier to conjure an image. She too had master a few skills.

And she had even created one of her own using her own image she conjured. As far as she knows she’s the only one to achieve this. She was brought back from her thoughts by multiple roars followed by powerful auras.

From the distance she saw 5 powerful beasts running towards them. " Cat" " Huh?" Cat replied obviously annoyed by being disturbed.

Mauled corpses laid around her blood covered body. " Take care of that" she pointed at a huge gorilla amongst the five rank 3 beasts, Cat grinned.

Ndu, the hammer wielding giant and Haruko faced a giant bear. The other 3 were a giant snake, a wolf and a dog sized white bird with a long pointy beak.

While the remaining rank 2 amongst them were Cathra, Siri, Aira and her, their settlement did not have a single rank 3, infact as far as she knows humanity only had one rank 3 existence. Cathra was a healer, although she was strong Naledi would prefer not sending her to battle.

Siri, well the bloodmoon was a bad matchup for her. It made the beast very aggressive and hard to control, except for those already under her control she couldn’t control others.

She was more suited to facing large groups of weaker enemies than a single powerful one anyways. Aira had to maintain the barrier around the settlement.

Without her barrier the beasts would break through the wall and kill everybody inside so she couldn’t call her here either. Which meant she had face three creatures a rank above hers.

It didn’t matter though, because she will win. She ran towards her targets and before she reached them she heard a loud explosion to her right.

Cat had just met the gorillas punch with her own, Naledi shook her head ’ too reckless’. The other two reached their opponent as well. She jumped into the air and swung her sword at the bird.

Lightning flickered on the bird and it dodged, it speed was even faster than hers. She landed on the ground and activated a skill immediately.

She knew this fight would not be a breeze so she had to control the battlefield first. "Snowfall, realm of the frozen queen" she gently tapped her sword on the ground.

A single snowflake fell from the sky, it appeared to be falling slowly yet it reached the ground immediately. The moment it touched the ground a storm of snow spread out faster than anybody could react.

Everything within a kilometre was trapped within the snowstorm. She sucked in a mouthful of air, using this skill drained too much essence.

And it was the type of skill you had to maintain using essence. While the cost to keep it active was not as high as the cost to activate it, it was not cheap either.

Even a divine vessel holder liker her with an insane pool of essence cannot keep it active for more than 5 minutes. She could see them within the snow storm.

The cold was impeding the snakes movements, the bird looked uncomfortable as well, only the wolf was not as effected. However she had achieved her goal.

She waved her sword and dozens of ice spikes appeared around her then she threw them at the bird. Of the three it looked like it had the weakest defence.

The bird sensed them and dodged, she clicked her tongue in annoyance, speed type beasts were very annoying. She was about to continue shooting more ice spikes at it.

But she suddenly turned around and held her sword in a defensive stance. Something rammed into her and she was sent flying backwards.

She saw what it was, it was the snake but there were two of them now. When she looked at the first snake it turned into smoke and disappeared.

" Illusion? I see " she spun mid air and landed on her feet. Then sent a spinning kick to her left. Her kick met the giant paw of the wolf, extreme cold was radiating off it body.

They were both sent reeling back,she blocked the beak of the bird with her sword then shot a wave of ice spikes at it which it easily dodged.

’ It seems you three will be more troublesome than I expected’ the snake created 5 other versions of itself using mist.

The bird created a lightning drill on it beak and the wolf covered it body in ice armour. "Snow dance, ball of the winter queen" the snow around her surgeed and turned into beautiful ice statues.
