CHAPTER 45: CHAPTER 45: THIRD EVOLUTION

The crocodile stood on it hind legs and it body rose above the water like a towering giant. It eyes landed on his tiny body below. Ved willed his poison to work faster.

But it met a powerful barrier of will, his will grinded against the will of the crocodile and they reached a stalemate.

He roared and pushed his will as hard as he can, he felt it will retreat, he was gaining an advantagevand pushing it back.

Just as he was about to break through the barrier of will he felt a stabbing pain on his head and his mind became groggy.

He lost grasp of his will and that gave the crocodile a chance to push back. He felt his poison being weakened and pushed back.

He couldn’t allow that, that poison was his last hope, if it fails then he will die. The crocodile tried to control the grass to entangle him but to do that it had to divide it attention.

He used that chance to push back even harder, before the grass and weeds could reach him his poison reached it heart.

It stopped, the grass and weeds stopped, then it roared to the sky and fell over. It giant body landed like a crumbling tower and causing the water to churn and create waves.

He approached it slowly and cautiously, it was still breathing but it was too weak to move let alone harm him.

He waited for a few minutes until it stopped breathing then he dragged it away, it body was heavy even for him and the headache didn’t make it easier.

He dragged it back to his underwater hole, even though he had been following the crocodile for months they hadn’t actually gotten too far from it.

It took him less than a day to reach it then he started eating the crocodile. While it was extremely delicious it was also the most uncomfortable meal he had ever had.

The scales of the crocodile were tough, even after it death it still took effort to completely bite through them but he managed but even the meat was hard and chewy.

’Yes’ ( Evolution process starting in 5,4,3,2,1, evolution process initiated.) He expected to black out like always but he was wrong.

The process started while he was still conscious and he understood why the system knocked him out before. The evolution process was incredibly painful.

The change started on his outer body. He watched as his body grew larger in real life, he was used to seeing this as it happened everytime he got evolution points but this time it was different.

It was too rapid, he felt and watched his muscles stretch, tear and reconstruct. He gritted his teeth in pain but that a mistake.

The teeth also grew longer and stronger and stabbed his gums which were also still growing, the process was random, there was no rhythm to which part would evolve next. The spikes on his back grew longer and sharper.

His claws elongated and so did his tail, his scales fell off and new ones grew. The new scales were larger and stronger, they gleamed underwater like polished obsidian stone.

Then he grew cat like ears but covered in scales and their inner part had black fur that kept the water out. His throat itched and he felt his vocal cords change.

This gave him the hope that he might be able to talk after, which distracted him from the pain for a moment but only for a moment.

Because immediately after he, lost sight of his body. His vision had changed, while it became clearer it also became more focused.

He nolonger had the 360 degrees vision which was disorienting for a moment but he had no time to dwell on it because an even more intense pain followed.

His internals were changing, his organs grew larger, the poison sack became tougher and the neutral poison fluid inside it became thicker and denser.

The rest of his organs also grew stronger then the pain stopped. He released a sigh of relief and wiped the metaphorical sweat on his forehead.

However before he could relax another change happened, he thought his body was done evolving but he wrong, his past evolutions focused on making his body longer.

However this time it also grew taller and denser. Muscles grew on top of muscles, his scales grew even larger and denser. His feet grew even larger and his claws grew bigger and stronger.

His tail was nolonger as long as it was before compared to his body and it became thicker like a crocodiles tail but much more menacing.

However the more glaring change was with his will, it spread out in a radius of 15 metres around him, everything within that area becane clear to him.

He could even feel the micro movement of the surrounding plants, he could hear the heartbeat of the fish and the tiniest shift in the sand below.

He felt as if he was touching the things around him and with a mere thought he could even move them, the feeling was amazing and gave him a sense of unparalleled control.

Then the process ended and the system notification followed. ( Evolution process has ended, host has entered a period of weakened state and is advised to rest and recuperate.)

He sighed, he was relieved it was over then he tried to move and what followed was a throbbing pain all over his body like he was hit by a speeding train.

’ Ouch ouch ouch.’ now he knew why the system told him to rest and recuperate. Maybe it’s also the reason the evolution process took so long before.

Maybe the evolution itself didn’t take long because this one was merely a few hours, he doubted the past evolutions would’ve taken longer than this one, maybe the system just kept him unconscious until he fully healed to save him the pain.

How kind of it but now he had nothing else to do and he was bored, he couldn’t move to hunt so he chose to eat the surrounding vegetation but he met a new problem.
