Chapter 50: Improved Sleeping Medicine
CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 50: IMPROVED SLEEPING MEDICINE
’ You...you can talk? Wait, I can talk?’ He felt his will connect with her’s and his thoughts were transmitted into her. This felt like telepathy.
’ Is this telepathy?’ ’ You don’t even know about will transmission’ Her voice was mocking and filled with disdain.
But he did, he had experienced this before with the mammoth except it thought were too unclear, it felt more like it was transmitting it emotions rather than thought.
But she was clear, whether it’d be her voice or message they were perfectly clear. Just as he was about to continue asking more questions she stopped him.
’ Enough chit chat, time for you to die.’ Suddenly her aura grew much stronger. It pushed away his sharp aura and everything within 6 kilometres started vibrating.
Whether it’d be the water or air, even his body started vibrating. A white almost transparent haki covered her entire body like armour, she looked like a holy beast.
In response he cancelled his own haki. She opened her mouth and a ball of pulses gathered infront of her. Unlike the invisible ones before this one was visible.
It grew larger and in only 3 seconds it had grown to a giant sphere with a diameter of 50 metres. The sphere was so dense and power it caused minor explosions of air around it.
He knew he couldn’t survive this, even with his iron scale he will still die if it hit him. Her abilities had a strange effect of ignoring his defence and directly damaging his organs.
Just as he tried to move he suddenly coughed a mouthful of blood, his mind became groggy and his vision became blurry. The demage to his organs had become too great and finally caught up to him.
He gritted his teeth, ’please work faster’ he uttered a silent prayer. Just as the hippo was about to throw the pulse sphere at him it disappeared like smoke.
He grinned ’Just in time.’ ’ What did you do you evil creature?’ Her body swayed and her steps became unstable.
’ I bet you’re feeling quite sleepy by now don’t you, why don’t you take a nap like a little good girl.’ he mocked ’ I’m going to kill you for this.’ she said in anger ’ Good luck.’
Ved was glad his theory was correct, he poisoned her the moment the fight began using the undetectable anaesthesia and as he had suspected.
With their wills clashing in the air it was hard for her to detect the tiny trickles of will he used to drive the poison to her brain faster plus the poison had grown stronger itself.
However she was really strong, even after it reached her brain it was still struggling to put her to sleep.
After learning how the poison worked he knew once it reached your brain it was game over, it was impossible to get rid of it without sleeping or time.
You would have to go to sleep then break out of the dream illusion which was harder than one might expect.
The more he learnt about how powerful this toxin is the more he wondered how he was even able to break out of the flowers dream illusion.
It’s made even worse by the fact that the flower had a stronger will than his. Logically it should’ve been impossible for him to break free.
That’s because even with a stronger will it was hard and took time to break free. When he was a rank 2 he didn’t have much knowledge about it.
That’s because while he could use it, it didn’t truly belong to him. It was only after he evolved and his poison sack evolved with it that it became his the same way it was for the flower.
It was then that he truly knew how formidable it truly was. It was easy to resist the poison as long as you knew it was there but once it reached your brain it was game over.
The only way to resist was to isolate it using will but not only would you need an stronger will than him, you would also have to divert a significant portion of your will and attention to it.
Completely getting rid of it would take way too much time and attention, it was impossible to do it during battle unless you have the antidote which doesn’t exist.
Even physical pain would not be enough to wake you up. The only reason the crocodile woke up was not because his will was weak but because the poison itself was weaker.
It was like a cheap copy of the real thing. A diluted version that barely had 5 percent of the real poisons potency. If he had the real thing when fighting that crocodile he could’ve killed it much easier and faster even as a rank 2.
Which made him breaking free from the flower even stranger. Just as he thought, the hippo attacked. Pulse waves spread out from her body.
But before they could get far they dissipated and her body swayed and almost fell over. To attack she would have to divert her attention and will away from the poison.
It would’ve been okay if her will was much stronger than his since she would still have enough to fight him but unfortunately he was an anomaly.
Even as a rank 3 he had a will powerful enough to match a rank 4. He infused his poison with even more will forcing her to divert all of her attention to resisting the poison.
However this was merely delaying the inevitable, isolating the poison works but only to slow it down, it couldn’t completely stop it.
However at this rate it will take days for the giant beast to drop and he had almost reached the limit of his will. Their wills continued clashing inside her.
And the poison was slowly working, as time passed her resistance grew weaker and weaker but it was still not enough to completely take her down.
However he had calculated wrongly, he thought it would take days for it to work because he judged based only on the clash of their will forgetting the poison itself.
Even without his will it would’ve still given her a significant challenge. Her will grew weaker and weaker. Her eyes became blurry and she knelt down, her giant body displaced kiloliters of water.
She was losing her struggle but he was not doing any better, his head felt like it was splitting apart from the overuse of his will. The strain to his mental energy was huge.
But he was so close to victory, so very close, just as he was about to break through a powerful voice echoed in his head.’ That is enough child.’
