CHAPTER 9: CHAPTER 9: WARNING

He had expected a large terrifying monster but what he found instead was a cute white bunny. It paused it chewing and a large leaf was hanging from it mouth and looked at him with large confused eyes.

’ Oh hey little guy’ he crawled out of the bush and approached it. The moment he took a step it body flickered and the next thing he knew he was flying through the air.

He broke through a tree and rolled on the ground. ’ Huh, what just happened?’ he couldn’t believe the speed that rabbit moved at.

His eyes could barely follow it but it seems it attack power was lacking, although it kick sent him flying a dozen metres away he didn’t feel any pain.

It only tickled, ofcourse it could be because his scales are very durable. He raised his head to look at the bunny and it body turned into a white blur.

Bouncing off trees and before he could react it had sent flying again, then again and again. No matter how hard he tried he could neither dodge nor intercept it attacks.

It was way too fast, he realised trying to track it movements with his eyes was a waste of time so he stopped and tried to think of alternative counterattacks.

He could coat his entire body with poison but he didn’t want to kill it. He couldn’t explain it but he could somehow tell it didn’t mean him any harm, he felt no malice from it only fear and desperation.

It was as if it was trying to drive him away but that also made him curious. Now he wanted to know what could drive it to fight him so desperately.

With that in mind he started running towards where it came from. It screeched loudly and jumped at him, although he couldn’t dodge it attacks he was able to position his body so it attacks would send him forward instead.

This caused it to panic even more but he had already ran passed the thick bushed. He came out to a large grassy field but before he could appreciate the view he felt it flying towards him from behind.

Instinctively he swung his tail, it cut through the air like a whip, moving even faster than the rabbit. He missed it but the sonic boom that followed the tail sent it flying a few metres away.

The loud sound disoriented it and before it could stand up he was already there pressing it to the ground with his foot. His herculean strength meant it couldn’t move even if it tried.

And try it did, it struggled and screeched under his foot to no avail. He raised his head to look at the field and realised why it fought so hard.

The grass field was teeming with rabbit, most too young to even survive on their own. What was strange though was they all did not show any fear or panic when they saw him as one would expect from rabbit.

They didn’t even try to hide in their holes but continued grazing the grass and ignored his presence. ’ Now it makes sense, these idiot have no survival skills at all, you must have it hard mate, good luck’

Although it couldn’t hear his thoughts the panic in it eyes subsided, he lifted his foot and left. It watched him with it large eyes still filled with confusion as his figure disappeared behind the bushes.

He ate a few fish and went back to his hole. The next morning he stood on the riverbank gazing into the depths of the large river. Then he jumped in.

He swam forward cautiously. Today he was going to go further in again even though he was still a bit scared. The depth not only had more fish they were larger as well.

Even though they were not rank 1 beasts they still increased his evolution points little by little. It didn’t take too long for him to find a fish over a metre long.

It ran the moment it saw him but it was nowhere near fast enough to escape him. He shattered it skull and devoured it right there, didn’t even bother to drag it out.

The blood and pieces drew a lot of smaller fish to the area but he ignored them and continued swimming forward. The further in he went the more fish he came across.

Unfortunately for them today he was going on a murder spree. He wanted to increase his points and thus his size which will in turn increase his strength and defence.

He didn’t want to feel helpless should he meet another group of rank 1 murderous beasts. That day he spent hours underwater hunting fish.

By the time he was done the area was devoid of all fish close to a metre in size. He swam out and went to his hole by nightfall. This routine continued for a few more days.

However something strange was happening, instead of the fish diminishing they grew even more not that he was complaining. The more the merrier.

Right now he was laying on his stomach under the warm sun feasting on a large pile of piranhas. Although they were only about 20cm long they each gave him as many points as a metre long fish.

Next to them was a cat fish, close to 2 metres long. Cats fish didn’t give as many points for something their size but they tasted good, like really good so much so that he went out of his way to hunt them.

Infact they were the only fish he hunted even when he won’t get any evolution points from them. Weeks passed, it been almost a month since he met the rabbit and his evolution points were approaching 4 and he had grown a little as well.

His status screen made him happy, although it appeared as if he was growing slowly he knew with a lifespan of over 200, this level of grown in a few months was impressive. He had a lot of time on his claws.
