Beast Taming: Slaughter Atlas
Chapter 101: Contracting Nirvana
CHAPTER 101: CHAPTER 101: CONTRACTING NIRVANA
Chu Chen returned home to find that his parents had already prepared a lavish dinner. The two of them were chatting around the dining table.
"Son, you’re back," Mrs. Chu exclaimed as she saw Chu Chen, quickly getting up to welcome him.
She circled around Chu Chen to ensure he was alright, then smiled and said, "Go wash your hands and eat."
Chu Chen agreed with a smile upon hearing this.
The meal lasted a whole hour, during which Father Chu and Mrs. Chu naturally asked in detail about his experiences in the Secret Realm.
Chu Chen, of course, recounted the light-hearted parts and even showcased his Space Belt.
This left the two extremely shocked, as the Space Belt was a treasure worth millions in their eyes, almost like a fairy tale.
Chu Chen took out all the Star Treasures he had collected, and the two were in awe, their pupils shaking. It was the most Star Treasures they had ever seen at once.
Chu Chen selected gifts for his parents and shared his idea of wanting Mrs. Chu to start a business.
When Mrs. Chu heard that her son wanted her to establish a botanical garden, she became excited.
Her plant cultivation skills were quite renowned in Celestial Star City. She had previously thought of starting a business, but the high cost of star plant species made it impossible, so she had to give up the idea.
As for sales, there was no need to worry. Mrs. Chu was well-connected in the plant cultivation industry.
Then, Chu Chen handed Mrs. Chu a Golden Card with nine hundred thousand Alliance Coins.
The initial start-up capital was secured, so the next steps were finding a location and hiring staff.
In Mrs. Chu’s view, these were not problems at all. The location for the botanical garden didn’t need to be prime, just spacious, and hiring staff was easy; many of her colleagues could be recruited with just a word.
After eating and drinking to their fill, Chu Chen returned to his bedroom. The pure Soul Power that Lei Yao had transferred back to him had been suppressed within him, and now, with some free time, he naturally needed to refine it quickly.
Chu Chen fed some snacks to Nirvana, chatted with it for a while, and then couldn’t wait to begin cultivation.
The Soul Power within him was extremely pure; he needed only a simple refinement to make it his own.
Chu Chen’s aura started to rise continuously, and in just fifteen minutes, his aura reached the Peak of Ninth Rank.
At this point, only a small amount of Soul Power remained within him, insufficient to break through to Soul Warrior Level.
Chu Chen deliberated briefly and took out two Star Power Pills, intending to reach Soul Warrior Level tonight.
His cultivation talent was Yellow Rank Upper Grade, and with the help of Heaven Rewards Diligence, there were no bottlenecks to reaching Soul Warrior Level.
As time passed, Chu Chen’s aura grew stronger and stronger.
After he refined both Star Power Pills, Chu Chen gathered all his Soul Power and attempted to break through.
Minutes later, Chu Chen suddenly opened his eyes, filled with excitement.
He was now a Soul Warrior Level Beast Master.
With his current Soul Power, Chu Chen could contract a second Guardian Beast.
At that point, Lei Yao was indoctrinating Nirvana, enthusiastically recounting its grand exploits in the Secret Realm and its cross-rank battles.
As it grew excited, it stood up and began punching with the Turtle Fist.
Meanwhile, Nirvana’s eyes were gleaming with admiration, a look of eager anticipation sparkling in its gaze.
Though Nirvana wasn’t easily deceived, Lei Yao’s remarkable advancement in just one or two months and its powerful display made Nirvana quiver with awe.
Chu Chen watched this scene unfold, knowing he had to strike while the iron was hot.
Chu Chen quickly approached the two beasts, displaying his full aura.
Nirvana looked surprised at the sight.
Chu Chen gently patted Nirvana’s head, smiling as he said, "I just broke through to Soul Warrior Level; now I can contract another Guardian Beast."
Nirvana’s eyes flashed with a trace of expectation, but this hope soon faded.
Though it no longer resisted Chu Chen, its mental wounds hadn’t fully healed, and it felt unworthy of Chu Chen, being just an ordinary ant.
Chu Chen noticed the changes in Nirvana’s expression, understanding that contracting Nirvana now was likely to fail, but he had no intention of giving up. Winning Nirvana’s heart required a bit of strategy.
With a soft laugh, he said, "Nirvana, what kind of Guardian Beast do you think I should contract?"
Nirvana was taken aback by this and its eyes dimmed.
Seeing this, Chu Chen decided to add more fuel to the fire: "Nirvana, Lei Yao’s attacks are strong, but its defense is somewhat weak. In battle, having a Guardian Beast to shield it from harm would make fighting easier, don’t you think I should contract a defensive Guardian Beast?"
Nirvana did not respond, lying silently on the ground, even its antennae limply down.
Seeing the timing was right, Chu Chen chuckled and said, "Haha, I’m just teasing you. Since bringing you home, this second contract spot was always reserved for you."
Nirvana’s head shot up upon hearing this, looking at Chu Chen with disbelief in its eyes.
Chu Chen observed and continued, "Isn’t it a pleasant surprise? Rest assured, I can make you stronger—Lei Yao is the best example."
Nirvana seemed to understand and nodded slightly.
Chu Chen seized the opportunity, immediately beginning the contract.
At that moment, Nirvana, in the grip of immense joy, didn’t have time to think, instinctively accepting the contract Chu Chen offered.
Chu Chen felt the contract successfully form, and his face lit up with immense joy.
Now his mind was linked with Nirvana’s, allowing him to perceive all its emotional changes.
Nirvana felt an unprecedented closeness to Chu Chen, fully able to trust him.
Chu Chen ruffled Nirvana’s head with a smile, saying, "Next, we need to enhance your quality, to successfully step into War General Level."
Nirvana reacted with delight, cheerily shaking its antennae with gleaming eyes filled with anticipation.
As a Guardian Beast, its duty was to fully support its master.
The growth path of a Guardian Beast was entirely up to the Beast Master.
For Chu Chen, he had chosen the path of combat; thus, in his selection and training of Guardian Beasts, he would adhere to a combat-oriented route.
Currently, both Lei Yao and Nirvana were classified as Strong Attack Guardian Beasts, leading to overlapping roles.
However, Lei Yao excelled in offense, while Nirvana was better in defense, so Chu Chen intended for Nirvana to follow a defensive path.
To follow a defensive path, besides needing resources to enhance defense, Nirvana’s evolutionary direction also required adjustments.
