CHAPTER 39: CHAPTER 39 TIANYUN GROUP’S ACQUISITION? DONG MUYUN! (SECOND RELEASE, PLEASE VOTE)

"That’s right. The deed to the Yuntian Resort Pet Beast Combat Vacation Village is my family’s, and Uncle Guan has always wanted to buy it."

Su Ping straightened up, not hiding anything. After spending some time with Qin Xiaoxue, he had come to understand her better. Although this young lady had a fiery temper, she didn’t resort to many underhanded tricks.

At this point, Su Ping even made a hand gesture indicating a number. "He even offered this much."

Qin Xiaoxue glanced at it. "I advise you not to sell it! Don’t sell it, no matter how much they offer!"

Looking at Qin Xiaoxue’s serious expression, Su Ping was taken aback, then chuckled. "Am I stupid? Of course, I’m not going to sell!"

This time, it was Qin Xiaoxue’s turn to be startled. Seeing Su Ping’s demeanor, she looked surprised. "What, do you also know something about the inside story?"

But Su Ping shook his head. "I don’t know why, but it’s not hard to guess. When I was still in school, Manager Guan mentioned wanting to buy our family’s deed to my dad a few times. My old man might not have been the most reliable, but he knew what was important when it came to certain things. It’s only been a few months since my dad passed away, and I took over all matters for Heart of Woods. How many times has Manager Guan come knocking? Including today, in less than ten days, he’s brought this up with me no less than three times. Ostensibly, he’s renting those few Forest Wolves of mine, but in reality, every time he brings up buying the deed, offering not just money but also many other arguments. I don’t know what he’s so anxious about, but no one in this world is a fool; no one makes a losing deal. His price is fair, and his investment is indeed substantial, so buying the deed might seem reasonable. Still, something doesn’t feel right to me."

Those were Su Ping’s true thoughts. If it were someone like Zhou Shuchen or Li Shu, fresh graduates faced with such large sums of money and seemingly reasonable motivations, they might have jumped at such a good opportunity.

But unfortunately, Su Ping wasn’t one of them.

An overly eager buyer never means a good deal for the seller. Su Ping believed he understood this principle, and he figured Uncle Guan understood it too. The latter was likely just taking advantage of his youth and lack of social experience, and hadn’t resorted to harsher methods yet.

However, he understood this, but how had Qin Xiaoxue guessed? Judging by her tone, it seemed she knew even more than he did.

So, he looked at Qin Xiaoxue, whose eyes were filled with a complex expression. "Sister Qin, do you perhaps know some insider information?"

Qin Xiaoxue’s complex look faded. She glanced at this composed young man, who didn’t seem like a typical fresh graduate, and said irritably, "Now you remember to call me sister?"

After glaring fiercely at Su Ping, Qin Xiaoxue continued, "My grandfather hasn’t been able to find out the exact details, but do you know who’s behind Yuntian Resort?"

"Who?" Su Ping asked eagerly, not minding her attempt to build suspense.

"Tianyun Group. Have you heard of it?"

"HISS!" Su Ping drew a sharp breath.

Yuntian Resort... Tianyun Group... The names were just reversed, but he’d never connected them before. The reason was simple: the disparity between them was too vast.

Perhaps Yuntian Resort had some strength, but compared to Tianyun Group, it was insignificant. Even the Fire King Company, where Jin Cheng was and where Zhou Shuchen had signed the contract earlier that day, was leagues behind Tianyun Group in Jianghai Province.

This was a true local behemoth in Jianghai Province. Its industries were wide-ranging, encompassing Pet Beast real estate, medical services, conventional resource sales, and various other civilian sectors. It even wielded a certain degree of influence in the eastern part of the Dragon Nation.

Could such a behemoth truly be connected to that middle-aged manager next door, the one whose smile reminded him of a chrysanthemum?

However, Su Ping would never doubt Qin Xiaoxue’s words.

In other words, Tianyun Group was behind Manager Guan. They were the ones who truly wanted to buy his family’s land deed!

Although Pet Beast real estate was indeed one of Tianyun Group’s main businesses, Su Ping found it hard to believe that, under normal circumstances, they would invest so heavily in this suburban location.

Especially since Qin Xiaoxue then added, "Also, a few days ago, I was next door at your place. After that Manager Guan returned from your place, he reported your answer to someone. And that someone was the Chairwoman of Tianyun Group: Dong Muyun."

Dong Muyun.

The name wasn’t entirely unfamiliar to Su Ping; he occasionally heard it mentioned on television news. But he had never actually seen her.

Hearing Qin Xiaoxue’s words, Su Ping frowned again.

Tianyun Group was enormous. If it were just one of their projects leading them to buy his family’s land deed, that would be somewhat normal. But what if the Chairwoman herself was involved? What if she was personally inquiring about it?

Su Ping quickly asked, "If she really wants it, there must be many ways she could force me to sell the land, right?"

Although he didn’t want to sell, such powerful figures naturally had numerous resources. They could even potentially leverage official power to enforce a compulsory sale.

Qin Xiaoxue nodded. "That’s exactly the point. From beginning to end, no word has gotten out. My grandfather doesn’t know anything, and perhaps even within Tianyun Group, not many are aware. I’ve been using my connections to investigate these past few days but haven’t found anything concrete. They’ve kept it under wraps, and their reluctance to use forceful measures might also stem from this."

Having said that, Qin Xiaoxue let out a sigh. "So, I’m just giving you a heads-up. There’s something fishy about this. You should be careful."

"Thank you." This time, Su Ping’s thanks were sincere. Although he had suspected there was more to the situation, he hadn’t realized the full extent of the implications.

In response to his gratitude, Qin Xiaoxue seemed a bit embarrassed. She waved her hand and said hurriedly, "Oh, it’s nothing. Besides, Woodhead is here with you, right? I’m still counting on you to help Woodhead improve further, beyond just Self-Healing. Anyway, it’s getting late. I’m heading back."

Watching Qin Xiaoxue’s hurried departure, Su Ping glanced at the time. It was only six o’clock. How was it late?

But he didn’t dwell on it. He opened his computer and typed ’Tianyun Group’ and ’Dong Muyun’ into the search bar.

’Tianyun Group is a modernized...’

He promptly closed the generic company introduction and focused on Dong Muyun. Even online, there wasn’t much information available on her; there was only a single side-profile photo.

In the photo, the woman wore sportswear and seemed to be jogging. It was clear she had a slender yet curvaceous figure.

But Su Ping wasn’t concerned with that. Instead, he focused on her biography.

Other details aside, what captured Su Ping’s attention was the information about her rumored Pet Beasts. The information indicated that Dong Muyun was a Beast Tamer of at least Monarch Level.

Furthermore, her main Pet was a unique creature known as the Sky-Swimming Fish.

While this Pet Beast wasn’t particularly noted for its combat prowess, one of its attributes was especially noteworthy: It was a rare space-attribute Pet Beast!

Staring at the information about Dong Muyun on the screen, Su Ping fell into deep thought.
