Beast World: I Became the Little Villain's Mommy
Chapter 144 - 135 Lively and Happy_1
CHAPTER 144: CHAPTER 135 LIVELY AND HAPPY_1
Under Si Yan’s command, She Ying directed the beastmen before him into five groups, each heading to one of the five tribal lakes.
Two of the tribal lakes were relatively close, so Si Yan went to check on them.
A snake beastman picked many large strawberries, washed them, and offered them to Si Yan. "My Lady, please have some. These are very thirst-quenching."
Si Yan looked at them and was impressed; these strawberries were even larger than the ones she nourished with her Wood-based Ability.
She understood that the snake beastman had given her his biggest and most prized fruits.
She gratefully accepted the strawberries. "Thank you."
The snake beastman’s face turned red at Si Yan’s thanks. "My Lady, you don’t need to thank me. This is what I should do."
With that, the snake beastman quickly fled as if escaping.
Si Yan found a shady spot, planning to rest for a moment, when she noticed rather intense activity in two areas ahead.
In one, an amethyst snake beastman, his tail transformed and his face covered with a piece of beast skin, was forcefully smashing the ground with his tail. He was exceptionally fierce.
Si Yan was speechless. Her Beast Husband, She Wang. Did he really think no one would recognize him just because he wore a piece of beast skin? Besides, no other snake beastman possessed such amethyst scales.
However, some snake beastmen beside Si Yan were looking at She Wang with great admiration.
"Who is he? How is he so powerful!"
"He works so impressively! A powerful snake beastman like him could surely attract a female!"
"Yes, just like our Lord! Our Lord has a female who is willing to accept him and even wants to interact with us!"
My goodness! He *is* your Lord! Can’t you recognize him?!
Meanwhile, by another nearby lake, a silver wolf beastman was vigorously digging the ground with his claws. It looked as if he was in a PK competition with the dark purple-scaled individual next door!
Si Yan watched them. So Tai Seng is also digging. But then again, big dogs are usually good at digging holes, right?
Just as she thought this, she suddenly saw her own two children helping nearby.
Her delicate little Dongchi was stubbornly scooping mud with his tail, while Nan Mo dug with a grin, assisted by a few small moles.
Seeing this scene, Si Yan’s heart softened instantly.
How wonderful.
These people had no idea why she was having so many water cisterns built. Nor did they know why she was helping other tribes. But because she said so, they simply did it, without a moment’s hesitation or doubt.
This feeling of being trusted was truly wonderful.
However, this warm feeling didn’t last long.
Because the amethyst snake beastman and the silver wolf beastman nearby had really started to PK!
The two males looked at each other coldly and fiercely, neither willing to be outdone by the other’s progress.
The amethyst snake beastman crossed his arms, looking at Tai Seng with scorn as his huge tail repeatedly smashed into the ground, as if the sky was falling and the earth was splitting apart.
The usually honest and good-natured silver wolf beastman squinted, regarding the other with disdain and a fierce air. His four paws dug and dug and dug at the earth with extreme professionalism!
Seeing this, Si Yan quickly said, "The water cisterns don’t need to be so wide or large! The main thing is that they should be deep!"
The two males looked towards Si Yan in unison. Then, Tai Seng immediately lowered his head and dug vigorously downwards with all four paws!
Seeing this, the snake beastman’s huge tail immediately spun like a top and drilled straight down!
Si Yan sighed internally. They’re always causing a ruckus; it’s like they’re not happy unless they are. Let them get on with it!
Si Yan recalled the large red vat in her space, acquired in White Eagle City and originally intended for brewing wine. She hadn’t been willing to use it for stewing meat back at the Silver Wolf Tribe, but now she wanted to.
Such a large vat would be so perfect for stewing meat!
Si Yan conscripted the nearby snake beastmen who weren’t too busy for labor. They quickly hunted down a beast. Although not as large as what She Wang usually provided for her, it was still sufficient.
The beast meat was processed, chopped into chunks, and placed before Si Yan.
In front of Si Yan, kindling was already piled up. Just as Si Yan was about to light it, a cold-blooded snake beastman nearby stretched out a finger. A small bolt of lightning shot out, igniting the kindling.
She set the red vat over the fire and poured in the slightly marinated meat chunks. She then tossed in the freshly cleaned and chopped chili and green Sichuan peppercorns. Next, she added plenty of water, a large handful of salt, and some of the fruits and vegetables gifted to her by the weaker beastmen, after chopping them up to add to the stew.
Afterward, she covered the vat and mostly left it to simmer.
Next, she had the snake beastmen bring out all the watermelons stored in front of her cave so everyone could quench their thirst.
"Everyone, take a break and have some watermelon!" Si Yan said cheerily.
Upon hearing this, the snake beastmen worked even harder. "My Lady, we are not tired!"
They worked so diligently that Si Yan had to forcefully mandate rest periods for them.
The snake beastmen also ate these green-skinned, red-fleshed fruits, though they weren’t usually abundant. It was unexpected that Si Yan had brought so many watermelons!
The two water cisterns before them were soon completed. Lake water was successfully diverted into them and stored. Just then, Si Yan’s stew was also ready.
The delicious aroma of meat spread far and wide.
"What’s that smell? It’s so delectable!"
"I’ve never smelled anything like this before! Is it the scent of food?"
"We cold-blooded snake beastmen have always eaten raw meat. We’ve never had cooked meat."
Dongchi cried, "Mommy!"
Nan Mo echoed, "Mommy!"
The two soft little ones, hands washed clean, toddled over. Si Yan caught them, laughing. "Wait for Mommy to finish making delicious food."
"Mm!" Dongchi nodded vigorously, then looked longingly at Si Yan’s pot.
Nan Mo did the same, his large eyes practically glued to her pot.
"You’ve worked hard, my little ones."
After setting the two children down, Si Yan lifted the lid of the pot.
The tantalizing aroma of meat became even more pronounced, spreading instantly.
More cold-blooded snake beastmen were drawn by the scent and gathered around.
Si Yan’s pot couldn’t feed thousands, but there was enough for every beastman present to get a share.
"Grab a bowl and line up! Everyone gets one spoonful," Si Yan called out.
And so, the cold-blooded snake beastmen obediently formed a line.
Dongchi and Nan Mo stood at the very front, holding their wooden bowls. Seeing this, those behind them hastily fashioned their own bowls—some from stone, others from chunks of wood.
Si Yan stirred the stew with a large wooden spoon and then ladled a generous chunk of meat into both Dongchi’s and Nan Mo’s bowls.
Having received their meat, Dongchi and Nan Mo happily went off to eat.
This made the cold-blooded snake beastmen queued behind them even more expectant.
Next, She Ying also received his stew. Hu Hui, who had followed, was ecstatic; thankfully, he had come to check things out and was lucky enough to get some meat too.
Tai Seng also got some meat.
To Si Yan’s greatest surprise, the dark purple cold-blooded snake beastman—who supposedly never ate cooked food—stood before her with a cool expression, wearing a beast-skin mask and holding out a very large basin.
Si Yan glanced at the large basin in his hands.
She was momentarily speechless but kept her composure. Her hand didn’t tremble as she ladled half a basinful for him.
