"She cannot possibly relight the Holy Fire! Si Yan is nothing but a fraud; there’s no way she can relight the Holy Fire!!"

He straightened up, gathered some dry grass, found a stick, and pried open the sand Si Yan had covered, locating the ember she had mentioned. He touched it gently with the dry grass, then blew softly on it.

The Beastmen present didn’t dare to make the slightest sound. One young Beastman tried to speak but was quickly silenced by his father’s firm hand over his mouth.

The Holy Fire was far too sacred.

They dared not miss a single step of the Holy Fire’s replenishment!

Before long, flames slowly began to appear on the dry grass he held. Soon after, the dry grass burst into flame!

"It’s burning, it’s actually burning?!!"

The Beastmen of the Yanxiang Tribe were utterly shocked. Tai Seng himself gazed at the flames in his hand with sparkling eyes.

Only the High Priest or a messenger sent by the Beast God could control fire.

Si Yan might not realize how much her actions shook the hearts of her tribesmen.

Tai Seng stole glances at her. She’s so pure and innocent. In this dangerous Beast World, she doesn’t even have a male to protect her. I must protect her!

Si Yan took out the torch that had fallen and been extinguished earlier. She lit it and had Tai Seng throw the burning grass onto the ground. After it was stamped out with a few kicks, she handed the torch to the tribal chief. "Chief, go and light the Holy Fire."

The tribal chief looked at Si Yan’s pockmarked face. He accepted the torch with the utmost reverence, growing excited. "The Yanxiang Tribe is saved!!"

The wolf and bear Beastmen howled in agreement!!

"The Yanxiang Tribe is saved!!"

After settling this matter, Si Yan, suppressing her anger, brought Dongchi back to the cave.

Inside the cave, Nan Mo hid in the corner as usual. Xi Qing and Bei Ji stood before Si Yan. Dongchi pouted slightly, bit his lower lip, and sat on the bed, turning his back to them.

Si Yan looked at Dongchi’s small yet stubborn back and couldn’t help but tease him.

"Where did all that boldness you had when you wanted to set fire to someone’s cave go? Now that you’re home, you don’t even dare to look at me."

Honestly, thinking back to Dongchi’s vengeful ’an eye for an eye’ attitude, he really is villain material. Too bad his methods are still immature, Si Yan mused.

Dongchi remained silent, his small shoulders trembling.

Suddenly, Si Yan realized something was wrong. She quickly approached. When she looked closer, she saw her little cub’s eyes were red and tears streamed down his face.

"What’s the matter?"

"None of your business!!" Dongchi angrily pushed her away.

He pulled the animal hide over himself, hiding beneath it.

To ease the tense atmosphere, Bei Ji quickly tugged on Si Yan. "Mommy, I’m hungry."

Bei Ji pulled Si Yan away from the bed, and she ended up cooking with him and Xi Qing.

After Si Yan left, Nan Mo finally came out of his corner, cautiously climbed onto the bed, and softly stroked Dongchi’s back.

Dongchi buried his face in the animal hide, refusing to look up.

Bei Ji and Xi Qing vied to help Si Yan with chores. Xi Qing cleaned the cave, while Bei Ji helped Si Yan wash and chop vegetables.

Once dinner was ready, Si Yan called Dongchi and Nan Mo to eat. Dongchi refused to move, and Nan Mo remained hidden, refusing to come out.

Si Yan had no choice but to pack their food separately. She had Bei Ji and Xi Qing take it to them, and then she ate with Bei Ji and Xi Qing.

That evening, Nan Mo finished his dinner, but Dongchi still hadn’t eaten.
