Beast World: I Became the Little Villain's Mommy

CHAPTER 59: CHAPTER 54 YOU’VE CHANGED INTO A DIFFERENT PERSON_1
Dongchi, Xi Qing, and Bei Ji were taken aback when Si Yan said this.
Although they had evolved, they still couldn’t move such a large stone.
Their mother’s boasting might be a bit exaggerated, they thought. But what could they do? Since the words were out, they had to bite the bullet and go ahead.
With that thought, the three cubs braced themselves and approached the boulder.
"Hey, wait a second," Si Yan stopped them. "Where are you going?"
Dongchi said coolly, "To move the boulder."
"Hold on," Si Yan quickly said, "we need to prepare something."
Hu Li scoffed. "Prepare something to move a boulder?"
Si Yan smiled and led the three cubs away.
The trees in the Beast World were generally quite large, both thick and tall. Si Yan found one that looked sturdy and long enough, and she shaved it down with her snake scales.
After the tree had fallen, Si Yan stripped off the excess branches and, with the three cubs, carried the tree trunk over.
Then, she looked at the slightly smaller stone that Hu Li had earlier pointed out for her to move.
The position is just right, perfect to act as the fulcrum, she mused.
"Give me a lever and a place to stand, and I will move the earth," Si Yan chuckled. "This saying is not without its merits."
Bei Ji asked with curiosity, "Mother, what is this, and what are you about to do?"
Si Yan replied with a smile, "You’ll see in a moment."
Unknowingly, many Tiger Beasts had gathered around. Some were there for the excitement, others to see her make a fool of herself, and many pointed and gestured at Si Yan, wondering just how capable this so-called new "teacher" truly was.
Unperturbed, Si Yan adjusted the angle of the lever and secured it with vines. Then, she slowly climbed a tree near the other end of the lever and jumped from the trunk onto the lever!
Next, an extremely surprising scene unfolded: the massive and exceedingly heavy boulder actually started to move.
Hanging from the lever, Si Yan then shook her body a bit more.
The boulder loosened a little further!
Si Yan looked at her cubs and said with a smile, "Come join me."
Without a word, the three cubs jumped down from the tree and climbed onto the lever!
In this way, the four of them – skinny, light, and small Beastmen – truly moved the boulder. The boulder rolled over, moving more than ten meters away, and it ended up exactly where Hu Li had wanted!
Si Yan and the cubs jumped down to the ground.
Bei Ji blinked in surprise. Was it all just coincidence?
As if understanding his question, Si Yan smiled and lightly patted little Bei Ji’s head, whispering, "It was all calculated. Though, of course, with a little bit of luck."
"Calculated?" Bei Ji was puzzled.
It’s simply the principle of the lever, Si Yan thought.
Si Yan said tenderly, "If you are willing to learn, Mother will teach you all later."
All three cubs nodded vigorously.
"This..." Hu Que was utterly shocked. "This wasn’t moved by brute force. Does this count as..."
"How could it not?" Si Yan walked over, patted the boulder, and said with a smile, "You asked us to move the boulder; you didn’t specify how."
While other Tiger Beasts found it a novel curiosity, Hu Yong was genuinely astounded.
Such a method was unheard of and unseen before, he thought. It was as if a new world had been unveiled. In his heart, he admired Si Yan even more now.
Taking a couple of deep breaths, shocked yet composed, Hu Yong defended Si Yan. "That’s right! No matter what method Lady Si Yan uses, it’s fine. And indeed, she has succeeded."
Having said that, Hu Yong continued to study Si Yan with a surprised and inquisitive gaze.
This method... he couldn’t understand it, couldn’t fathom it, couldn’t have thought of it. How could it be done like this? How could it have rolled exactly to the required spot? Was it all a coincidence?
From the eaves of a nearby building, the only Black Tiger Beast in this world was watching from afar.
When Hu Yong saw Lord Ming Yan nearby, he leaped over excitedly. "My Lord! You didn’t see Lady Si Yan—she’s amazing!"
Ming Yan gave Si Yan a deep look, then turned away with a proud and cold demeanor, and left.
...
After the incident with the rolling boulder, the Tiger Clan tribe became even more enthusiastic towards Si Yan.
As Si Yan became more integrated into the city, she naturally had many questions.
"The Cow Tribe we encountered before, don’t they seek a way to overcome their difficulties?" Si Yan asked.
Hu Que answered her, "When the Fierce Day comes, who doesn’t want to survive? But even the smallest tribes have their own heritage and secrets; they probably have other methods to overcome their troubles."
Hu Yong stroked his beard and laughed. "Perhaps Lady Si Yan isn’t aware. Although the Cow Tribe isn’t a weak Beastman tribe, they also aren’t considered strong. They can’t compete for Dark Sun Lake, so there’s no need for them to go."
He patted his chest. "We from Black Tiger City are different. Teacher Si Yan, rest assured, if you follow us from Black Tiger City, you will definitely reach Dark Sun Lake safely."
Si Yan smiled and said, "Then I’ll have to rely on everyone. Also, I heard that Black Tiger City is a newly built city; it’s impressive that a new city can be of such scale. Lord Ming Yan is truly remarkable."
"Indeed!" Hu Que blurted out. "If White Tiger City hadn’t pushed our Lord into a corner..."
"AHEM. AHEM." Hu Yong coughed sharply, casting an annoyed look at Hu Que.
Hu Que immediately shut his mouth and lowered his head, feeling slightly guilty. "Lady Si Yan, please wait a moment. We will distribute the food soon."
Si Yan waited a while and received a few pieces of meat, which she brought back to her cave.
Bei Ji and the other cubs had tacitly found dry wood, split it into kindling, and stacked it in the cave, just as Si Yan had done before.
Si Yan lit a fire in the cave and quietly began making bone soup and cooking the meat.
After eating the meat and drinking the warm soup, the cubs felt comfortable and ready to rest.
Night fell, growing darker and darker. Si Yan’s eyes adjusted to the night’s brightness, and she lay watching the inside of the cave.
It wasn’t long before she noticed that Dongchi also hadn’t fallen asleep.
She turned her head to look at Dongchi, who lay with his eyes open, watching her.
"Aren’t you sleeping?" Si Yan whispered to him as she turned onto her side. "Can’t you sleep?"
At night, Dongchi’s eyes faintly took on the appearance of snake pupils, but perhaps because he didn’t want to frighten Si Yan, the pupils were round and large.
He looked rather cute, Si Yan thought.
"Mother," Dongchi said, his voice cool and unwavering as he stared at her. "You’ve become a different person."
The cool voice floated over. A chill ran through Si Yan, and she tensed up instantly.
She had long noticed the complex feelings these cubs had for their mother. If these future antagonists recognized that she had taken their birth mother’s place, would they kill her? She had barely managed to cling to life; she didn’t want to lose it now!
Si Yan remained silent for a long while, not daring to move as she stared at Dongchi. Just how much has this sensitive and sharp cub figured out?
"Are... are you still her?" Dongchi averted his gaze, slowly turning over, his snake pupils looking up at the ceiling.
"What are you talking about?" Si Yan replied, her voice betraying her anxiety.
"It feels like you are, yet it feels like you’re not," Dongchi slowly closed his eyes.
The current mother is different from before, he thought. The old her wouldn’t have been so brave and smart, nor so kind to them.
...
Dongchi gradually relaxed. "Go to sleep," he said slowly. "The Tiger Beastmen are proud; they won’t attack us in the middle of the night. This place is safe."
...
「In Ming Yan’s cave.」
The tall Black Tiger Beastman sniffed the air, smelling the scent of meat soup. His sensitive nose had long detected the aroma coming from Si Yan’s cave.
Ming Yan tore off a piece of meat with his teeth and began to chew.
Next to him, Hu Yong said, "My Lord, it’s too coincidental. If it weren’t for Teacher Si Yan, it wouldn’t have been possible to roll that boulder to land exactly where we wanted. My Lord, Lady Si Yan is quite extraordinary. She might be a sage!"
Hu Yong grew more excited as he spoke.
Ming Yan paused mid-bite and turned to ask him, "Hu Yong, why would a sage come to Black Tiger City?"
"Of course, it’s because of you, My Lord!" Hu Yong replied. "With you being so excellent, why wouldn’t a sage choose Black Tiger City?"
Ming Yan interrupted him. "The Beast God has already abandoned us. I am also a Beastman who has been punished by the heavens. A sage would not come to Black Tiger City."
Hu Yong fell silent.
Ming Yan said, "Keep an eye on her, and you’d better keep her under control."
"Yes, My Lord," Hu Yong said with a resigned bow.
