"Shut up!" Ming Yan said sternly.

"My Lord! You won’t even let me speak against her? What abilities does she have? Has she shown any? I think she’s just bluffing. She can’t possibly save Lord Hu Yong!"

Ming Yan’s dark eyes fixed on Hu Que, sending a chill down his spine. Hu Que immediately fell silent.

Jie Ling was extremely shocked.

She truly couldn’t understand what she had done to displease Si Yan.

But at this moment, she wasn’t panicking. She didn’t believe Black Tiger City would do anything to her for Si Yan’s sake.

Si Yan smiled. "Lord Ming Yan, how about this: discipline Jie Ling, and have Hu Que apologize to my three cubs. If you do that, I will agree to help you save Lord Hu Yong."

Ming Yan spoke softly, "Teacher Si Yan, Jie Ling is a female, after all."

Si Yan’s eyelids twitched. "As expected, they’re all the same," she murmured, her voice even lower.

An older Tiger Beastman couldn’t bear it any longer. "My Lord, the locust plague is upon us! We protected these four, yet these cubs are ungrateful, repaying kindness with malice and sowing discord! My Lord, she can’t possibly save Lord Hu Yong! Please, expel these four Beastmen!"

Si Yan shot the Tiger Beastman a chilling glare. Perhaps her gaze was too cold; the Tiger Beastman was visibly frightened and quickly amended, "No, it’s better—better to kill them!"

Si Yan was taken aback and raised her eyebrows slightly.

Aren’t beastmen in the Beast World supposed to be pure and good?

I’ve seen the stupidity, but not the goodness.

Si Yan took the snake scale from her waist and showed it to everyone. "You see this snake scale? It belonged to their father."

The crowd didn’t understand and looked bewildered.

"You don’t understand? No matter." Si Yan walked over to Hu Que. He hadn’t yet realized what she was about to do when she grabbed his hand.

"Show me your claws," Si Yan said suddenly.

Although Hu Que didn’t understand, curiosity got the better of him. He transformed his hand into a claw, watching to see what Si Yan would do.

Si Yan took Hu Que’s clawed hand and pressed it gently. His sharp nails extended.

Si Yan then took the snake scale and, with a light motion, scraped it against one of his extended nails.

"AH!!!!"

A nail of Hu Que, the Red Crystal Beastman, snapped off, blood spurting.

He screamed in pain and shock. Everyone was startled, and the Witch Doctors hurried to treat Hu Que.

Si Yan picked up Hu Que’s broken nail. Examining it, she noted its hardness was indeed impressive.

Then she looked up at the surrounding Beastmen, who stared back at her in terror.

Si Yan said, "Do you understand now? The father of my three younger brothers is a Purple Crystal snake Beastman."

In truth, she had no idea what level of power her Beast Husband, the snake Beastman, possessed; she was merely bluffing with a straight face. Yet, all the Tiger Beastmen present believed her.

What else but something from a Purple Crystal Beastman could so easily sever the nail of a Red Crystal Beastman?

Si Yan walked up to the Beastman who had called for their deaths. "You want our lives? Aren’t you afraid of a Purple Crystal snake Beastman hunting you down?"

The White Tiger Beastman recoiled, taking several steps back in fright.

Ming Yan looked at the purple snake scale in Si Yan’s hand.

The father of her cubs... that male was her Beast Husband.

Had Black Tiger City already disappointed her?

Ming Yan forced himself to remain calm. He stepped forward and said intently, "If I expel Jie Ling, will you save Lord Hu Yong and join Black Tiger City?"

Jie Ling stared at Ming Yan in disbelief.

Is he really going to expel me, a female, for this outsider?

Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

"I can save Hu Yong, but I will not join Black Tiger City," Si Yan said.

"Why?" Ming Yan asked in a deep voice.

Si Yan looked up at him and smiled softly. "Because I’ve just realized that instead of joining a force, it’s better to become that force myself."

She glanced at her three cubs. "That way, no one will ever be able to bully my people again."

This small, slender figure stood there, uttering such earth-shattering words that the surrounding Tiger Beastmen were too stunned to speak, their mouths agape.
