Beast World: I Became the Little Villain's Mommy
Chapter 80 - 72 A Pile of Millet!_1
CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 72 A PILE OF MILLET!_1
Outside the cave of a small tribe.
A four-year-old cold-blooded snake Beastman cub sat with his eyes closed, leaning against the cave.
He was very quiet, his expression cool and distant.
From inside the cave he was leaning on, a sharp cry rang out.
"Xiao Hei, Xiao Hei!!" a female, driven mad, frantically shouted from within.
Nan Mo quickly stood up and went inside, only to see the grown female who had been carefully nursing the few-month-old female cub in her arms now completely out of her mind.
Nan Mo looked at the female cub being nursed.
This female cub seems far too frail, he thought.
The maddened female shouted in agitation, "She cried out again, look, she cried out again!!"
The crazed female clutched her own head and hid behind Nan Mo, delirious. "Xiao Hei, she cried, it’s so scary, she cried, she cried out again!"
Just as Nan Mo was about to come forward to soothe the female cub before him, the frantic female behind him suddenly pushed him to the ground with great force.
"AH! Why does she cry, why does she cry!!"
The young boy frowned slightly as he stood up, casually dusted himself off, walked over to the female cub, and picked her up in his arms.
The three Beastmen in this cave had no blood relation to each other.
The female who had lost her mind was simply someone he had found to nurse the cub in his care.
And the little female cub in his arms was one he had picked up on the road before stumbling upon this tribe, after getting separated from Tai Seng.
Nan Mo held the little cub, unable to make a sound, only gently rocking her to coax her to sleep.
The young boy pinched the tiny fleshy paw of the little bundle in his arms.
Once Nan Mo picked her up, the little cub stopped crying and started chuckling up at him.
The young boy’s face was cold; unable to speak, he remained silent.
「White Eagle City.」
Si Yan nodded slightly, a hint of calculation in her eyes as she said to Bai Shou, "Indeed, what you did was excessive."
Bai Feng caught her clever little glance and smiled helplessly.
Bai Shou was startled and quickly sought help from Bai Feng. After all, it was clearly Lord Bai Feng who had first taken action against Black Tiger City. These words should be addressed to Lord Bai Feng, not to him.
He was merely lending a hand to bolster Lord Bai Feng’s show of force!
And besides... Lord Feng, what’s with that look of disdain?
Bai Feng agreed with Si Yan, "It was too excessive."
Priest, what are you doing? Bai Shou thought.
A chill ran through Bai Shou’s heart as he touched his chest. Such heartache, he thought.
"Misunderstandings, all misunderstandings," Bai Shou said quickly.
"And you injured so many of our Black Tiger City Beastmen," Si Yan retorted. "Could that also be a misunderstanding?"
"This..."
Bai Shou was extremely helpless. He glanced at Bai Feng, the instigator, and seeing that Bai Feng was silent and unwilling to look at him, Bai Shou suddenly realized something.
He resigned himself to his fate, laughing apologetically as he bowed. "It was us who misunderstood Black Tiger City first, and due to the misunderstanding, we ended up fighting. We will compensate for the losses caused to Black Tiger City."
"What else?" Si Yan asked.
"What else?" Bai Shou was taken aback.
Bai Feng reminded, "Mr. Si Yan has treated Bai Hong. Next, he will also provide four packages of medicine for Bai Hong."
Bai Shou, looking at Bai Feng who seemed no longer on his side, felt the corner of his mouth twitch. He immediately said, "Right, right, the cost of the medicine must be paid."
Now, Bai Shou was certain: Bai Feng was truly helping this Mr. Si Yan fleece him.
Bai Shou gritted his teeth. "Right, right, and those two packages of medicine. Medicine isn’t cheap; the medical expenses must be paid, we will!"
Bai Feng slightly lifted his head, adopting an air of cool arrogance.
Meanwhile, Jie Ling, who had gone to fetch water with the other Tiger Beastmen, returned.
She had barely arrived when she saw Si Yan.
Even though Si Yan had clearly stated she did not like her, Jie Ling still wanted to get closer to her.
However, the moment she saw Si Yan, she also caught sight of the noble Bai Feng.
A perfect male draped in snow-white feathers, his beauty resembling that of a heavenly god.
In an instant, her eyes were captivated.
"Who is he?" Jie Ling stared intently at Bai Feng, her gaze overly focused and fervent.
This time, Hu Que felt the ache once more, unable to hide his displeasure. "The High Priest of White Eagle City, Bai Feng."
So he is the messenger of the Beast God, as the legends say?
Jie Ling’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Bai Feng, quietly etching the name ’Bai Feng’ into her heart.
It took her a long while before she belatedly realized the off-tone in Hu Que’s voice.
To make up for it, she pulled a funny face at Hu Que and said coquettishly, "Brother Hu Que, are you jealous?"
Hu Que turned his head away, his handsome face slightly red. "No."
"You don’t need to be jealous, Brother Hu Que. Although I also like Teacher Si Yan... and, Lord Bai Feng... I like you too!"
Luckily, Si Yan’s attention wasn’t on Jie Ling at the moment; otherwise, hearing Jie Ling’s brazen declaration of playing the field would have probably made her vomit.
Hu Que slightly tilted his head, still feeling the sourness in his heart, yet found nothing wrong with Jie Ling’s words. "I know. When you grow up, we’ll be mates."
Jie Ling teased Hu Que with a smile for a while before she turned her attention to Bai Feng.
She liked strong men. She was naturally attuned to sense the tremendous potential and formidable strength in males.
While Hu Que was not bad, he couldn’t compare with Ming Yan. Unfortunately, Ming Yan was too cruel and fierce, and she had never dared to get too close to him.
But the male named Bai Feng in front of her stirred her heart over and over again, and all her fears became an afterthought.
Hu Que sourly reminded her in her ear, "Don’t get any ideas about Bai Feng. He’s a Beastman who has lived for who knows how many years. My grandfather said that when he was a child, Bai Feng was already the High Priest of White Eagle City."
Hu Que’s words didn’t dampen Jie Ling’s thoughts; instead, they made her eyes shine even brighter. She gazed intently at him.
Bai Shou, adept at reading the room, treated Si Yan as a guest of honor.
Bai Feng took a step forward and transformed into a large bird. He spread his wings and said to Si Yan with a gentle smile, "Come aboard."
Ming Yan intervened, and in an instant, Bai Feng and Ming Yan locked eyes fiercely once again.
Then, Bai Feng turned his gaze to Si Yan and said, "Let’s go. I have rice. I’ll treat you to it."
Rice!!
This was a blatant temptation for Si Yan—the temptation of food!
Si Yan climbed onto his back with the help of his wings.
Bai Feng flapped his wings and soared high, leaving a group of Beastmen on the ground staring agape.
Ming Yan’s face darkened as he watched Bai Feng and Si Yan in the sky. Bai Feng gave him a victorious glance before flying higher.
Riding on Bai Feng’s back felt completely different from riding on Mu Xiao’s. Deep in Si Yan’s heart, she felt very safe, without the slightest feeling of instability despite being high in the sky.
"We White Eagles love trees and prefer to make our homes in large ones," Bai Feng said gently as he soared. "We build nests in the trees."
"Like birds?"
"Si Yan is really smart," Bai Feng replied with a smile. "Like birds, but not exactly the same. Our nests are bigger and more spacious."
Si Yan looked down to see huge nests atop the tall trees. These nests were usually shaped like oval spheres with an entrance and even a window for ventilation.
Pure white feathers brushed against Si Yan’s face, like the caress of a lover.
Si Yan’s gaze shifted from the landscape below to Bai Feng; his feathers were white and clean, very beautiful.
She couldn’t help but touch his feathers.
"Do you like them?" the White Eagle male asked with a smile.
Si Yan hastily withdrew her claws.
Oh, I really do like them, Si Yan thought. Such fine feathers—they’d be great for decorations or making down jackets and quilts. Absolutely top-quality! But I can’t say that.
It wasn’t long before Bai Feng landed on the tallest and largest tree on the mountain and took Si Yan to the largest nest in White Eagle City.
"This is my home," Bai Feng said tenderly as he set her down.
When Si Yan touched the ground, it felt incredibly soft, as if she were stepping on cotton.
She walked a few steps forward and laid her hands on the wall. This sphere... I wonder how it’s made? It’s so much more comfortable than a cave.
"What do you usually eat?" Si Yan asked.
"We mostly eat meat," Bai Feng replied, "but we also like to eat grains."
"Grains? Right, you said you had rice earlier," Si Yan said.
"Yes. Over here." Following Bai Feng’s direction, Si Yan found a little mountain of grains in a corner of his home.
Yes, a little mountain of grains. Bai Feng had so many grains that they formed a small heap.
"Grains!" Si Yan ran over excitedly.
"How do you eat these grains?" Si Yan asked.
Bai Feng’s slender hand grabbed a handful of grains, rubbed them in his hand to husk them, and then passed the shelled rice to Si Yan, who inspected it closely.
Bai Feng picked up the rice and, with one hand elegantly covering his mouth, the other hand fed the rice directly into his mouth, crunching away.
Si Yan: "..."
So, Eagle Beastmen eat rice raw?
"Why don’t you cook it before eating?" Si Yan asked curiously.
Bai Feng asked curiously, "Cook it before eating?"
Si Yan nodded earnestly. "After cooking, rice becomes softer, stickier, and sweeter."
Thinking of the delicious and sweet cooked rice, she curved her eyes slightly. I’m already starting to crave it, she mused.
Bai Feng looked down slightly, a smile in his eyes. "So, can little Si Yan cook some for me?"
Si Yan nodded. She found a large stone in the room and turned to Bai Feng. "Can I make a fire here?"
Bai Feng happily declared, "I’ll prepare the wood for you."
It hadn’t been long since she received a small bag of rice, and she hadn’t expected to see so much of it so soon.
It looks like my first rice meal in the Beast World will be with this great eagle, Si Yan thought, her heart fluttering with excitement at the prospect of finally eating rice.
