CHAPTER 221: [LILITH WANTS TO SLEEP] - SILVANUS’S PART (7)

Lilith’s small body leaned closer to Silvanus. Silvanus picked her up and set her on his lap to stop the girl from saying anything more.

Lilith didn’t seem to expect that from him. Her wide eyes looked like those of a startled fawn, staring blankly at Silvanus. Her lips kept moving as if she wanted to say something, but no words came out in the end.

She leaned against Silvanus’s chest excitedly, her legs swinging nonstop, and her entire body seemed to tremble slightly. A clear blush spread across her cheeks.

Drake furrowed his brows tightly, looking as though he wished he could kill the monster immediately.

"Damn it!" Leonard muttered under his breath, his nails nearly digging into his flesh.

The others who witnessed the scene couldn’t help but frown as well.

Silas looked at Silvanus, who only shook his head. One of his hands even started patting Lilith’s head—surprisingly pleasant.

Back in the previous dungeon, if Lilith hadn’t suddenly revealed her identity, Silvanus would’ve thought she was just a little girl starved for affection, developing a bit of a chick imprinting syndrome with him.

Who would’ve thought such a cute little girl could crush an entire train with her bare hands?

Lilith seemed to be enjoying herself immensely. She nuzzled her head against Silvanus’s chest, murmuring, "Stay with me forever, okay? I like you. Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone bully you. I like you. Your eyes are so beautiful."

She looked up at him with wide eyes. Staring into those eyes, Silvanus couldn’t tell if she was telling the truth. Who knew—she might turn around and kill him the very next second.

Just like in the previous dungeon, she had genuinely liked Aurora. Even though Aurora was a Degenerate, Lilith still adored her. But she hadn’t hesitated even a moment when it came time to kill a Degenerate.

Silvanus remained silent, like a beautiful jade statue—emotionless and still.

Lilith kept gazing at Silvanus as if she would never tire of it. The affection in her eyes seemed as if it might spill over at any moment.

"Miss Lilith." Silas suddenly spoke, breaking her focus.

Lilith frowned and shot a cold glance at the group of humans. "Call me The Dark Night Princess," she said.

Then, pausing momentarily, she returned to Silvanus and added, "Only you can call me Lilith. What’s your name?"

"Silvanus," he replied.

"That name sounds familiar."

Silvanus said nothing, while the others were utterly speechless. This monster was truly shameless.

[Haha, with a face like Silvanus’s, anyone who meets him feels a strange sense of familiarity. Even hearing his name makes you think they were lovers in a past life.]

[Look at how infatuated Lilith looks—there’s nothing left to say.]

[She’s shameless. She’s some ancient monster who’s lived for who knows how long, yet she insists on using the form of a little girl. If she transformed into her adult form, there’s no way Silvanus would be holding her like that!]

[When Nerio shrank down, none of you said anything like this.]

[Double standards, ha ha.]

"Can you all just stop mentioning me?" Silvanus thought to himself, feeling his whole body itch from embarrassment. Then he looked at Lilith and asked, "Why did you invite us here?"

Rather than being upset by Silvanus’s cold demeanor, Lilith became even more excited, her eyes trembling with madness.

Could it be that she was projecting Aurora onto Silvanus?! Ever since they entered this place, she had been going on about how beautiful his eyes were—and now that he thought about it, his eyes did resemble Aurora’s a little.

Drake noticed it too, and his gaze toward Lilith grew even colder. No one could guess what kind of thoughts were running through that perpetually throbbing head of his.

Lilith answered, "I’m so sleepy but can’t fall asleep. It must be because of that sunflower field outside. Get rid of them. It’s their fault I can’t sleep!"

Earlier that afternoon, Alice had said Lilith liked sunflowers, bPlease get rid of them. seem so simple.

If she didn’t like sunflowers, why did an entire forest surround the house? There was even a sunflower pot inside the room.

"If we cut down all the sunflowers, will you be able to sleep?" Cocona raised an eyebrow and asked.

Lilith lifted her chin and said indifferently, "I’ve never cut down sunflowers before—how would I know if I can sleep well after they’re gone? Anyway, I want to sleep. I want to sleep! I have to sleep tonight, so hurry up and get it done!"

She raised her voice, ordering the humans around. Those two monsters had said they were her new "friends," but she didn’t consider them her "friends" at all.

She looked visibly annoyed, seemingly not good at controlling her emotions—or perhaps she didn’t want to control them.

Breathing heavily, Lilith tried to calm herself as she looked at Silvanus. "Forget about them... will you sleep with me?"

[....]

[So manipulative!]

[No, Silvanus! That cute little form hides a monster that could be centuries old!]

[Exactly! What if she tries something while they’re sleeping?! These monsters are getting more and more cunning!]

"No."

Silvanus replied, lifted Lilith off his lap and stood up, preparing to leave with the others.

Lilith squinted as she watched his back, her gaze turning cold and dangerous. Whatever she was thinking, she eventually gave a cold laugh, then skipped back to her room without showing any more reluctance toward Silvanus.

Meanwhile, Silvanus was lost in thought. He had killed a part of Lilith before, yet she didn’t seem to care much about it.

She had also sensed his different kind of energy—what she called "divine energy" or "radiance"—but now she wasn’t exposing him.

Either she was plotting something, or she hadn’t recognized him and assumed he was someone similar to the Degenerate.

Silvanus felt that Lilith didn’t quite resemble the other monsters. She still looked completely human in the previous dungeon even when she unleashed her full power.

That was unusual. Every other monster they had encountered might look human at first, but once they revealed their true strength in the final battle, they would fully transform into grotesque monsters.

"You’re way too soft. Just let that thing touch you like that. She’s dangerous."

Drake, walking ahead, kept grumbling—directing his words at Silvanus.

Silvanus said nothing, which only made Drake even more annoyed.

Finally, Silvanus said, "I can protect myself."

"Unless you summon a god to help," Drake sneered. With a flick of his hand, a massive blade appeared in his grip.

He swung it down, and a swath of sunflowers was immediately sliced clean in half, collapsing to the ground. Within a two-meter radius, not a single sunflower remained standing.

"So we’re doing it this way, huh..." Alice murmured.

"It’s risky, but we need clues," Cocona said softly from beside her.

Alice pressed her lips together and said no more.

The others stayed still, while Drake, venting his frustration, quickly hacked down over ten square meters of sunflower field.

From the side, Cocona "encouraged" him, "You’re kinda slow, huh? Can’t you take them all down in one strike?"

Drake sheathed his blade and gave a cold smile. "Why don’t you try it?"

Without hesitation, Cocona lunged forward and tried to snap a nearby sunflower with her bare hands.

Only then did she realize that the sunflower was unusually sturdy—its body strangely supple and flexible, making it hard to break or cut.

"They’re growing taller,"

Silas suddenly spoke up. Drake turned and saw that the sunflowers he had just cut were sprouting again and growing rapidly. At this rate, they’d be in full bloom again by morning—like nothing had ever happened.

"Why don’t you figure out how to deal with them?" Drake said dismissively, dusting off his hands and dumping the responsibility on Silas.

Cocona walked to another patch and tried pulling a sunflower by the roots.

"What the hell is this?!"

Her voice caught everyone’s attention. Looking over, they saw her holding a sunflower with a smooth green stem—but no soil at the base. It had no roots.

Cocona moved over and pulled out another sunflower that Drake had previously chopped. Again, it was just a straight stalk with no roots. She continued pulling more—none of them had roots either. Yet they still looked vibrant and healthy, and even now, they rapidly regenerated after being cut down.
