Becoming a God Starts with Acting

CHAPTER 224: [LILITH WANTS TO SLEEP] - SILVANUS’S PART (10)
Silas glanced at Drake briefly, then indifferently, "Go ahead if you can—just don’t drag us into it."
"Cowards, the lot of you!" Drake sneered coldly. He was starting to consider his plan.
"Drake, take a look at your legs."
At that moment, Silvanus’s voice suddenly rang out from the opposite side.
Drake looked confused but quickly rolled up his pant legs. The moment he did, he furrowed his brows, his expression turning grim.
His legs were caked with brown mud, and from his feet to his ankles, roots had sprouted from his flesh, writhing constantly like a cluster of leeches.
Drake felt a bit nauseated. The sight was truly revolting, even though he felt no pain.
But since this was just a dream, he had no idea what his real body looked like now.
"What the hell is this disgusting thing?!"
Cocona exclaimed, looking like she wanted to immediately rip the thing off her leg. Ultimately, she could only force herself to stay calm, pull her pant leg back down, and avoid looking at her leg again.
Anyone would be horrified by roots suddenly sprouting from their legs—especially when they kept squirming like living creatures.
The others had already checked their limbs. Silas spoke softly, "So it looks like only Drake and Cocona are affected."
A heavy silence fell. Everyone knew that only the two had destroyed the sunflower field earlier. The reason for what was happening to them was now painfully apparent.
But...
"Silvanus, how did you know they were like this?" After all, even Cocona and Drake hadn’t noticed anything strange on their bodies.
"I already told you—you all should learn to take care of yourselves," Silvanus said in a low voice. His tone made Drake grit his teeth in frustration.
"Then do you have a solution or not? Just spit it out," Drake demanded.
"I don’t. Go die." For the first time, Silvanus sneered coldly.
Drake: "..." Just let the world end already!
Silas found himself at a loss for words. At long last, even Silvanus couldn’t be bothered to show Drake mercy.
"Do you all remember the conversation between those two little monsters earlier today? It seems like the sunflower field can hear everything they say. From what I can gather, this dungeon might have more than one boss," Silas analyzed calmly.
"Lilith doesn’t like the sunflower field—she stubbornly blames it for preventing her from sleeping. But the sunflower field doesn’t necessarily like Lilith either. It’s clear those two creatures never entered the sunflower field while Lilith was around!" Alice added, following Silas’s line of thought.
[Layer by layer, they’re peeling these monsters until there’s nothing left of them.]
[I said it before—knowing the truth isn’t the key. If you can’t complete the quest, it isn’t very sensible.]
[The sunflowers will lead them forward, hahaha.]
"Maybe we’ll get more clues tomorrow," Silas said.
"Ha! So, do you people think we’ll be spared from any curses if we follow the sunflowers’ instructions? Even saints aren’t as naïve as you lot," Drake scoffed.
"The point is, we want to find out what they want. You are single-celled, Drake," Cocona shot back directly.
In the end, afraid they might start throwing punches, Silas suddenly changed the subject: "Silvanus, what do you think?"
"I’m fine."
The atmosphere fell into silence. It was impossible to tell what kind of expression Silas wore at that moment.
Silvanus had only played a minor trick and added, "I think your plan is quite solid."
Silas said nothing more.
In truth, Silvanus was deep in thought. They called this place a dream, yet the livestream room didn’t show anything from the real world—only this landscape.
Rather than a dream, Silvanus felt this place was more like an alternate space, one where all of them—humans and monsters alike—were trapped.
Combining that with the information he’d gathered from the comment section, it was clear: Lilith and the sunflowers were mortal enemies. Neither could tolerate the other’s existence, yet they somehow maintained a strange equilibrium. Neither could kill the other.
Silas had been wondering about the monsters’ true objective—and the answer was surprisingly simple: they wanted to use humans to kill the opposing side. But even if they could directly confront Lilith... how exactly were they supposed to kill a sunflower field?
Both monsters wanted the other dead. But as humans, they couldn’t afford to pick a side. The only way to escape this place was to eliminate both. Otherwise, the one that survived would devour them all.
Lilith longed for sleep—eternal sleep. In other words, death.
As the viewers repeatedly screamed, knowing the truth is one thing; acting on it is another.
He already had a lead with Lilith. Now he needed one from the sunflower field.
Hopefully, Moew and Bunny hadn’t forgotten about him, Silvanus thought as he slowly closed his eyes.
Rustle, rustle.
The first sunlight streamed into the room, waking everyone up at once. They hadn’t slept all night. Their nerves were taut, but strangely, none of them felt the least bit sleepy.
Alice stood up tiredly, then looked at Silvanus in surprise. "There’s something at the window, Silvanus."
Silvanus lowered his gaze and saw two tiny flowers lying on the windowsill. But the window had been shut tight all night, and none of them had slept—had someone entered or opened the window without them noticing?
Silvanus gently picked up the two blossoms. They had slender stems, white petals, and pale blue buds. They looked quite lovely, though he had no idea what kind of flowers they were.
"I told you not to touch weird stuff randomly. It might look cute now, but it might open its mouth and eat you in a minute," Drake muttered, ruffling his hair into a mess.
He walked over, bent down to inspect the two flowers in Silvanus’s hands, confirmed they weren’t dangerous, then scoffed, "Ugly."
Silvanus: "..."
"Something came in just to give flowers to Silvanus?" Cocona teased with a playful smile.
Drake shrugged indifferently, "Maybe it was Lilith. She looked at him yesterday like she wanted to grow out of his body or something. Who knows, maybe she was lying beside him all night."
Silvanus frowned slightly at that, goosebumps rising along his arms. "Don’t talk nonsense."
Drake burst into laughter.
Alice rubbed her arms too. "Still... it sounds kind of terrifying when you say it like that."
Especially considering the room was full of influential individuals—yet none of them noticed anyone entering...
Unlike the others, Silvanus already knew who had visited him. He calmly tucked the two little flowers into his pocket and left the room.
Outside, there was no sign of Lilith.
Drake stormed into Lilith’s room, slammed the door open and shut, then came back down and confirmed, "She’s gone again. No doubt about it—she only appears at night."
Silvanus lowered his gaze to Drake’s legs. By now, the roots had spread entirely across his feet, writhing nonstop as if searching for something.
Silvanus had a strange feeling: if Drake were to touch the ground, the roots would immediately burrow into the soil and take root, turning him into yet another sunflower in that dense, monstrous field.
"Let’s go. Let’s see if the sunflower field has anything for us," Silas said, taking the lead out of the candy house.
"Such theatrics," Drake snorted coldly. Ignoring the state of his own body, he leisurely strolled after them.
