CHAPTER 227: [LILITH WANTS TO SLEEP] - SILVANUS’S PART (13)

Lilith appeared again at night, but her mood seemed much worse than the day before.

She stormed into the room, clearly irritated, the displeasure on her petite face visible to the naked eye—like a little demon on the verge of exploding.

"Why is that sunflower field still there?! That’s why I can’t sleep! What kind of work are you people doing?!"

Lilith raised her voice in accusation when she stepped through the door, clearly dissatisfied with these lazy humans.

The group sat on the sofa. Drake propped his feet on the table without hesitation, pulling up his pant leg to reveal many constantly writhing roots. Frowning, he said, "Look, this happens when we help you. We need time to finish everything, you get that?!"

Lilith still frowned, clearly displeased.

At that moment, Silas suddenly stood up and walked over to her, speaking softly:

"However, I’ve found a way for you to sleep... forever."

He lowered his head and looked at Lilith, voice still calm.

Lilith looked up, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? And what way would that be?"

After a short pause, she suddenly pointed toward Silvanus, who was sitting on a chair:

"If you just let me borrow him for the night, I might get some decent sleep."

Silvanus: "..."

Being toyed with by a "little girl" like that was definitely... strange.

As if sensing Silvanus’s expression, Lilith’s body suddenly shifted. In a flash of bright red light, her petite form transformed in the blink of an eye. She now stood over one-seventy tall, and her dress had changed, cut daringly to expose seductive curves, barely covering anything, resembling the attire of a demoness.

Lilith narrowed her eyes and smiled at Silvanus.

"What about now? If I look like this, would you agree?"

"My eyes hurt," Drake mocked with a snort.

At the same time, Silas’s voice rang out:

"If you want to sleep so badly, go ahead—sleep an eternal sleep."

Lilith frowned, but the eye on Silas’s forehead suddenly opened before she could say anything. At that exact moment, her body was pressed down by some invisible force, gravity anchoring her in place so heavily that she couldn’t move even an inch.

Then, without warning, a pillar of silver lightning struck down from the sky—landing directly on Lilith’s head!

Her eyes widened, but she couldn’t even change her expression.

The lightning blasted downward, ravaging the area and scorching part of the house.

"AAAAAAAH!"

Three seconds passed. Lilith’s body finally began to move again, and Silas quickly backed away.

Amidst the crackling lightning, she spread her arms wide. Her fingers curled in pain, her mouth gaping unnaturally wide—far beyond the limits of a human body—like an actual demon letting out a guttural roar.

Suddenly, two red dots flared—Lilith had opened her eyes!

Her eyes seemed to be bleeding, staring directly at the humans. At the same time, two magic circles appeared in front of her.

"Sleep!"

She screamed, the sound creating a shockwave that shook the entire dungeon violently.

"Ah!"

Thump! Thump! Thump!

The sound of heartbeats suddenly became deafeningly clear in that moment.

Cocona’s eyes flew open. She felt like her heart was gripped by something invisible, and her mind—usually sharp and awake—was now overwhelmed by a wave of irresistible exhaustion.

"Thud!"

That was the sound of Cocona and Silas collapsing to the ground simultaneously.

"Captain Silas! Captain Cocona!"

Alice rushed forward in a panic, trying to use her ability to pull them out of their induced sleep—but her powers were utterly useless in this moment.

Meanwhile, the lightning column that had struck Lilith had vanished without a trace.

Lilith’s body was now charred pitch black, reduced to nearly a skeleton. A few scorched chunks of flesh hung loosely, and her intestines had spilled out, dragging along the floor.

Where her heart should have been—on the left side of her chest—there was nothing—just an empty cavity.

Lilith’s bones clattered as they shook—she was laughing. She was laughing!

That rasping sound echoed like a death curse. She swayed as she walked forward, and her bones jutted like sharp spikes.

Leonard and Drake remained standing where they were—Lilith’s powers did not affect them.

Perhaps it was because they were the ones who had destroyed the sunflowers, had been cursed by them, and had rejected the sunflower’s offer.

As of now, only Alice and Silvanus had done nothing—meaning their allegiances were still unconfirmed, and they remained neutral.

Though at a glance, neither seemed to be affected by any significant force...

But was this truly the "safe path"? Or merely the calm before a much greater storm?

Just as Drake was about to slash at Lilith, Silvanus stepped forward.

He reached out and gently grasped Lilith’s bony hand—as if completely unfazed by her horrific appearance—and softly said, "Let’s go to sleep."

Lilith’s eyes widened. Even though there was no flesh left on her face to show surprise, and her bulging eyeballs—one of which was charred—looked like they could fall out at any moment, her appearance was truly the stuff of nightmares.

She looked down at Silvanus’s hand holding hers, and her skeletal frame somehow blushed.

[Is Silvanus doing this on purpose? Could he have predicted what would happen if Drake attacked Lilith?]

[Maybe it’s just a coincidence...]

[No way there are that many coincidences—Silvanus definitely knows something!]

[Stop it with your dumb fangirl theories already!]

Drake furrowed his brows at the sight of Lilith and Silvanus. He was about to step forward when Silvanus raised a hand to stop him, then led Lilith upstairs.

Drake, clearly displeased, could only turn back to tend to Silas and Cocona.

Up on the stairs, Lilith hesitantly glanced at Silvanus and suddenly said,

"So this... this is your type after all?"

Silvanus: "?"

He genuinely doubted his hearing. His gaze toward Lilith was laced with speechlessness, and then he calmly replied, "I don’t have a type."

Lilith lowered her head shyly—not buying it—and her bony fingers gripped Silvanus’s hand even tighter.

[LOL that question hit straight to the point!]

[Lilith’s doubt is justified! First, she tried luring him as a loli—no success. Then she turned into a voluptuous beauty—still rejected! But when she became this scorched skeleton, Silvanus instantly grabbed her hand and said, "Let’s sleep together." LMAO maybe this is his type!]

[Makes sense. So we’ve finally reached the era where people appreciate the beauty of skeletons? As a member of the undead race, I feel deeply moved!]

[Alright, enough jokes—there’s no way Silvanus likes her!]

[Some of you fans are sniffing around like bloodhounds—calm down, it’s just a joke!]

Silvanus: "..."

He could feel his reputation neither rising nor falling... just spiraling into a direction he never saw coming.

"Click."

The room door opened. Lilith smiled and led the way.

The room was exactly as Drake had described.

Silvanus glanced at it before walking straight to the bed and lying down.

Lilith hadn’t expected him to be this direct. Even though her face was nothing but bones, it somehow still managed to express shock.

Only... from another’s perspective, what they saw was a 170cm-tall monster, made entirely of bones, with a few burnt scraps of flesh, intestines dragging on the floor, and two bloodshot bulging eyes—staring intently, about to get into bed with someone.

Just imagining it was enough to make someone scream.

[Oh god, is this Silvanus’s kink? I wouldn’t be able to handle it!]

[Lilith’s so creepy now, and Cocona went too hard—there’s no beauty left in Lilith anymore, seriously...]

[Can she please stay away from Silvanus?! Even if it’s for the greater good, he shouldn’t have to go that far!]

[I can’t take this as a fan-only, sob sob sob]

[Even CP fans can’t handle this!]

[Wait, Silvanus has a CP now?!]

The comment section was full of shrieks, cries, and wild speculation, switching moods with every scroll.

What were they all even thinking?

Seriously—they were going to sleep. That’s all!
