Becoming a God Starts with Acting
Chapter 231: [Lilith Wants to Sleep] - Silvanus’s Part (17)
CHAPTER 231: [LILITH WANTS TO SLEEP] - SILVANUS’S PART (17)
The comments section was still furiously arguing over which god Silvanus should summon. At the same time, Silvanus was already being harried by two monsters to the point where he had no way out.
They pushed him toward the stuffed bear, sniffling as they pleaded, "Please, take it down, mew!"
"Just thinking about how you might get bullied when you’re somewhere we can’t see... it makes me feel so awful, boo hoo hoo."
In the end, Silvanus let out a small sigh, acting like he had no choice. "Alright, I’ll take it—just stop crying, will you?"
The two monsters’ tears, which had been flowing like water from a faucet, paused for a moment, turning into slow, heavy drips.
They widened their eyes, watching Silvanus walk over to the stuffed bear, pluck it from the bed of sunflowers, and tuck it into his cloak.
He turned back to them with a nod. "Alright, let’s head back. Happy now?"
The monsters nodded, still staring at Silvanus with wide, round eyes—four in total—that looked ready to split apart, reflecting his figure strangely silently.
Silvanus pretended not to notice and raised his voice. "Let’s go."
In the end, Meow took the lead, Bunny brought up the rear, and Silvanus walked in between.
The sound of dripping pattered in the air—the tears of the two monsters, still falling nonstop.
But the longer they walked, the denser the sound became, and now it carried a sticky undertone, like some glob of mucus winding around leaves.
Heh, maybe it’s still tears, Silvanus thought mockingly—only now, they aren’t coming from their eyes, but from their mouths.
At that moment, Meow’s figure up ahead suddenly froze.
Silvanus could see them clearly through the livestream room.
Now, their mouths were full of drool, spilling endlessly onto the ground, mixing with their tears—no matter how much they wiped, it could never be cleaned away.
The skin beneath their faces suddenly ripple and bulge, writhing without pause. The corners of their mouths twitched, as though something inside was about to break free.
And then, they opened wide—rows upon rows of sharp teeth stacked in countless layers were laid bare, still clinging to scraps of flesh as if they’d been there for years, impossible to scrub clean.
Their mouths split open, stretching to their ears, sending their drool gushing out even more. At this point, their tears weren’t even worth mentioning.
Their eyes elongated, opening wide—gone was any trace of cuteness. All that remained were vast whites, packed with countless blood-rimmed pupils that jostled and writhed together as though they might force their way out into reality.
Their chests split open like the great petals of a sunflower, the pointed edges twitching as bright red slime and twitching flesh dripped down. Inside, jagged teeth layered over one another, forming a second mouth.
Their fur now stood completely on end, and their legs seemed to melt, flesh dripping away to reveal yet more eyes—eyes of all shapes and sizes, their pupils crowded together like a writhing mass of tadpoles.
They tried to hunch their backs, as if that could hide the fact that their bodies were still growing larger.
Rip!
A sound like something being violently torn apart.
Countless sharp spines burst out from the monsters’ backs—razor-sharp. Silvanus quickly ducked, avoiding the barrage of spikes from Meow’s back. Yet, the next moment, those sharp spines went limp, turning a bright, bloody red, writhing faintly like a mass of gigantic worms.
[I don’t know if Silvanus feels nauseous, but I sure do—ugh, this thing is hideous!]
[This is pure visual assault, I swear. Hurry up and eat Silvanus already so you can disappear.]
[No! Silvanus can’t die!]
[He’s about to die, hahaha!]
Silvanus looked like he wanted to retreat somewhere else, but his legs were already bound by the monsters’ pulsing flesh and clusters of staring eyes.
"Where do you think you’re going?"
Two voices rang out at the same time. The monsters had turned toward him, their hunched bodies still towering a full meter above him.
Countless pupils rolled and churned within their eyes—some even spilled out entirely, dripping like strange, viscous liquid. Their fur was now matted with foul, crimson slime, and the tiny hats they once wore had long since split and fallen to the ground, crushed under the weight of their rotting flesh.
The once "storybook" creatures were nothing but fangs and fresh blood.
Silvanus lowered his gaze and said quietly, "If you retract your fangs, I can spare you."
"Hee hee hee... hic hic hic... ha ha ha..."
Both monsters laughed in unison, their tears still streaming without pause.
They thought Silvanus was an utter fool.
"So fragrant, so fragrant... sorry, so hungry..." they kept muttering, repeating the words repeatedly. Their ruined flesh melded together as one, starting to climb up Silvanus’ body, eyes darting in every direction, bulging wide, spilling with tears.
They reached out with their hands, and both mouths yawned open at once—like vast pools of blood lined with endless layers of fangs.
They wanted to tear Silvanus in half, one taking each side.
[It’s come to this, and still no one’s coming? Drake? Silas? Leonard? Cocona? Where is everyone?!]
[Silvanus really can’t summon a god... I’m going insane.]
[No way. Silvanus can’t just die like this. He shouldn’t die like this!]
[+1 to the hopeless fan who refuses to wake up.]
[Scenes like this should happen more often—beautiful, hahaha.]
The chaotic flood of comments scrolled endlessly, as if this were the last time they would get to type.
And in the middle of it all, Silvanus suddenly sighed.
"You were crying so pitifully just a moment ago."
At the same time, the monsters reached him.
Yet the scene of his body being torn apart—blood and entrails splattering the ground—never came.
Instead, a burst of light flared, and streams of water appeared from the void, crashing down onto the two monsters.
The massive, terrifying creatures began to writhe violently, their eyes wide with an expression of sheer, incomprehensible disbelief.
They roared in pain, struggling to move, desperate to escape—bloodshot eyes streaming tears that mixed with the flowing blue water.
But they had no chance. Their bodies quickly turned translucent, vanishing with the water, leaving only Silvanus.
His expression remained calm. Even moments ago, when staring death in the face, his features had barely shifted.
He brushed the dust from the hem of his cloak, crossed his arms before his chest, and inclined his head slightly, murmuring, "My thanks for the grace of my god."
Then he began walking out of the sunflower forest. Along the way, the towering rows of sunflowers parted, and ancient water-carved patterns flickered in and out on the ground, guiding the lost toward the way out.
The scene left viewers reeling from one shock to the next.
[What? What? What the hell just happened?!]
[WTF—that was Nerio’s power, wasn’t it?!]
[In the end, Silvanus wasn’t torn in half, but that was Nerio’s power.]
[He said something just now... so this is the priest’s ability? The gods are always watching over and protecting him!]
[Hahaha, I knew Silvanus wouldn’t die so easily. Even if he wanted to, the gods wouldn’t allow it!]
[Oh my god, Nerio × Silvanus, a feast of beauty—what should we name this gorgeous CP?!]
Silvanus, however, had no genuine desire to watch himself being paired with another persona he had created. He wasn’t nearly narcissistic enough to "consume" himself.
[Wait—so Silvanus can walk out like that? Why didn’t the sunflower forest stop him?!]
[Look behind—there’s still the stuffed bear!]
[Did Silvanus not take it, or is he using the same trick again?]
[If you’ve come all this way, you wouldn’t leave the stuffed bear behind! Some viewers might be stupid, but Silvanus isn’t!]
[Oh my god, the feeling of knowing a secret like this, hahaha. Humanity is still struggling desperately, not realizing their lifeline is already in our side’s hands—perfect!]
[Suddenly feeling a little sorry for the monsters... they thought they had a guaranteed win, only to realize the "real thing" had already been crushed in someone’s grasp!]
[Goddammit, can we skip ahead to that scene already?! This damn show is just dangling us like this—why?!]
Finally, amid the uproar of the viewers, Silvanus stepped out of the sunflower forest and returned to the candy house.
