Becoming a God Starts with Acting
Chapter 234: [Lilith Wants to Sleep] - Silvanus’s Part (20)
CHAPTER 234: [LILITH WANTS TO SLEEP] - SILVANUS’S PART (20)
Silvanus had no idea just how far Lilith’s thoughts had drifted.
He pried off the hand clutching his collar, his expression unreadable, and said sternly:
"Silas and Cocona can attack Lilith. You and Leonard cannot attack Lilith."
Drake opened his mouth, ready to roar, but faced with Silvanus’s gaze, he could only grit his teeth and fall silent.
Silvanus shoved him aside without hesitation, not seeming to care about his injuries.
Drake grew even more furious, veins bulging on the hand gripping his sword hilt as though about to burst.
He wanted to kill. He tried to kill Silvanus. How could this detestable man not have been split in half by his blade already?!
At that moment, Drake seemed to be losing his reason. He now had no patience for things he would normally question and work through.
Destroy everything. Blow this place apart. Blow it all apart!
"Top believer of the Prophet."
Suddenly, a cold voice rang out.
Drake froze, immediately lifting his gaze. The bright red in his eyes hadn’t yet faded, but confusion was flickering deep inside them.
He stared at Silvanus, the one who had just spoken, and instantly felt as though he were hallucinating. Otherwise, why... why had this man just now seemed so much like the Prophet, from his tone to his very expression?
"Go do what you need to do," Silvanus told him.
Meanwhile, Cocona and the others were still battling the relentless sunflowers. One wave was cut down only for another to push forward. Their attacks never ceased, and their target was clear—Alice. They wanted this girl cursed as well. No one was allowed to escape! This world was cursed, and anyone who wandered into it was destined to be cursed, too!
Drake pressed his lips together, shot Silvanus a look, and in the end obeyed, throwing himself into the battlefield.
[See! I told you! Exactly what I predicted!]
[Now’s the time for all the fangirls and fanboys to wake up and open their ears to the analysis fans.]
[Wait, so analysis fans don’t have a gender?]
[I knew it—Silvanus must’ve figured something out. Those cursed by the sunflowers will burst into flames if Lilith also curses them, because Lilith is the natural nemesis of the sunflowers! But the sunflower curse won’t heavily affect those cursed by Lilith first!]
[The correct path from the start should’ve been helping the sunflowers so that Lilith curses you first, but of course, no one ever does that, since the sunflowers don’t have the authority to declare a quest before Lilith!]
[If this were just some ordinary group, they’d have been wiped out long ago! But this team split up smartly, and some aren’t even cursed yet. Only the uncursed can leave this place on their own! Which means Alice is the key! As for Silvanus, why does he know all this? And let’s not forget—he was the one who collected those two things earlier and made replicas to trick the monster. Do you think he’s just clueless? Do you think he’s doing everything out of love? Idiots! From now on, I’m a Silvanus fan through and through!]
[Seriously, Silvanus is amazing. It’s just a pity he doesn’t seem able to attack. He’d practically be flawless if he had combat power like Drake or Cocona!]
Analysis fans were getting increasingly excited as they explained everything, utterly unaware that much of Silvanus’s information was thanks to them in the first place.
Don’t worry, give and take—I’ll be your fan too.
Silvanus thought with a hint of mockery, then turned and pushed Lilith, who had been sniffing at his sleeve, away.
[Here it comes, here it comes—perfect timing to reject her feelings!]
[As expected, Silvanus’s heart belongs only to me.]
Lilith lifted her head, her expression still feverishly excited.
"You like me too, don’t you? Wait a bit—once I kill these humans, we can be together, together, heeheehee. I can’t wait, I can’t wait, heeheehee."
Silvanus looked at Lilith’s deranged state. Sure enough, he ought to deal with her cleanly and quickly. Who knew what nonsense she might spout once she completely lost it?
Exposure wouldn’t cause a problem—he could create NPC roles inside the dungeon anyway. But right now it was far too early. There was no reason to blow his cover as long as he could still use the cloak to farm acting points.
Lilith had to die—die without uttering another word.
And yet, Lilith had no idea what was running through the mind of the man she adored.
The battlefield on the other side was raging without end, but here she and Silvanus seemed utterly detached from it all.
Lilith smiled, her beautiful and seductive features ignited by love, the emotion in her eyes not the least false.
But that was precisely the problem.
"Silvanus, your name is Silvanus, right? Do you like it when I call you that, or maybe—"
Before Lilith could finish, Silvanus’s hand clamped around her throat.
Her eyes flew wide, as though she could not believe things had turned out this way. She stared at Silvanus in shock, then suddenly let out a laugh. She was just about to speak when—
Crack!
A crisp sound rang out. Lilith’s sturdy cervical bones were crushed beneath Silvanus’s grip.
Her eyes bulged wide, her head twisted unnaturally to the side, her expression both vicious and grotesque.
The whole space went silent for one instant—only the comment feed roared in chaos.
[No waaaaay, I can’t believe this!]
[As expected, he never had feelings for Lilith. How could a priest ever fall for a monster? Everyone should’ve realized this from the start—it’s just that some people were too stupid to accept the truth.]
[No, he loved Lilith! He’s just afraid of divine punishment! He slept with Lilith!]
[He only did this to seize the chance to get the sunflower pot. And besides, they only slept together, nothing more—stop acting like they did something real!]
[Lilith, kill this faithless, treacherous man!!]
Some comments were weeping, and at that moment, Lilith’s head—previously twisted unnaturally to one side—suddenly showed expression again.
In an instant, her eyes became hollow voids, the irises vanished, and fresh blood streamed out, running down to her mouth, which was curved into a smile so wide it tore at the corners.
Now she still looked like a doll, but if before she had been a delicate porcelain doll, at this moment she was nothing less than a haunted one.
Blood flowed down further, soaking into her dress, drenching Silvanus’s hand.
He released her, but Lilith’s body did not fall. She remained standing just as before.
Soon, blood saturated her entire body, turning into a bizarre coal-black sheen, as if she had just crawled out of an oil pit.
She let out a rasping laugh, and crimson sound waves spread outward with each cadence of her voice, visibly rippling through the air.
"Sleep, heeheehee... sleep, sleep now!"
Lilith’s shrill cries instantly whipped up a violent gale, flooding the dungeon. All the sunflowers wilted and collapsed at once, even those attacking Alice’s group, now nothing but heaps of useless husks, stripped of all strength to fight.
Yet this came at a terrible price—the humans were affected too. They could no longer resist the drowsiness clouding their minds. Only Leonard and Drake managed to endure somewhat, because the sunflower curse on them meant they had, in a sense, aided Lilith.
Drake itched to charge forward, but Silvanus’s warning echoed in his head—he and Leonard could not attack Lilith. But Cocona and Silas were already on the verge of collapse. Who else was left to step onto the battlefield?!
If Lilith hadn’t been dealt with, where would Alice have found the clarity of mind to heal anyone?
Fwoosh!
In that instant, Lilith’s entire body suddenly blazed with light. She had ignited, transforming completely into a demon of fire, and from her mouth poured lullabies in twisted succession.
Sleep, sleep... then together we’ll dance in the flames, all together, dancing in the fire!
