Zhan Hanjue frowned and looked at Ye Ningwan very seriously.

Ye Ningwan felt guilty under his gaze and murmured quietly, "What did I hide from you? I didn’t hide anything at all."

"You’re still not admitting it?" Zhan Hanjue said angrily, "Why didn’t you tell me about this man confessing to you?"

"It’s not a big deal, lots of people like me. Do I need to boast to you?" Ye Ningwan chuckled.

Zhan Hanjue stared at her deeply.

Ye Ningwan’s smile slowly stiffened under Zhan Hanjue’s intense gaze.

"You’re really mad? Is it necessary? It isn’t anything serious," Ye Ningwan said, giving him a pleasing smile.

Zhan Hanjue, however, reached out and pushed her fawning face away, walking forward with a stern expression, not saying a word.

"Ah, my foot’s injured."

Ye Ningwan suddenly cried out from behind, then fell to the ground.

Sure enough, Zhan Hanjue stopped, hurriedly walking back to her.

"Where are you hurt?"

Ye Ningwan immediately reached out her arms, hooking them around his neck and hugging tightly, refusing to let go.

"I’m not hurt anywhere, I was just rescued. Isn’t it too much to abandon me and walk away?"

"Ye Ningwan, you’re lying to me," Zhan Hanjue said angrily.

Ye Ningwan, however, clung to his neck, refusing to let go, "I am lying to you, so what?"

Zhan Hanjue stood up with a grim face but still picked her up and carried her to the car.

However, he didn’t say a word to her the entire way.

Ye Ningwan didn’t expect him to be really angry. Despite her various attempts to appease him during the journey, he didn’t respond, making her angry as well.

Back home, Ye Ningwan went to the pharmacy.

She made a patch herself and stuck it on her neck.

The back of her neck still hurt from the slash by Zhao Wei; his strength was pretty strong. She wondered what he used to do at home.

"Young Madam, Miss Wu is here," the servant came to report.

"Let her come in."

"Yes."

Wu Taotao entered, threw herself onto Ye Ningwan, hugging her and crying bitterly.

Ye Ningwan knew she would be like this, so she patted her shoulder and said, "Alright, stop crying. I’m perfectly fine, not hurt at all."

"Why are you using a patch if you’re not hurt?" Wu Taotao revealed her.

Ye Ningwan felt awkward and quickly explained, "I’ve been studying too much recently, my neck isn’t well, it has nothing to do with this incident."

Zhan Hanjue raised his head.
