Mr. Zhan looked at her proud demeanor, his lips slightly curling as his mood lifted!

Jiangcheng’s new rich Huang Family soon vanished from Jiangcheng, quickly selling all their properties. The entire family moved away, to an unknown location.

Li Meifeng was terrified upon hearing this.

She called her sister’s family, only for her sister to not answer the phone.

Li Meifeng lived in fear for a few days, worried the Zhan Family might trouble her suddenly.

Thankfully, there was no news from the Zhan Family’s side.

One day, Ye Henghui returned happily saying, "The Zhan Family signed another contract with us, haha, with this contract, we won’t have to worry for the next two years. Finally, the Ye Family can get through this crisis."

Li Meifeng breathed a sigh of relief.

Inwardly, she thought, Huang Yunmeng probably didn’t implicate her, and Ye Ningwan didn’t know she was involved.

"Yingzi, thank you for your concern." Ye Ningwan expressed her gratitude.

Jin Yingzi shook her head, timidly saying, "Since that day you were kidnapped and there was no news, I worried about you. So I asked Miss Wu to bring me over to check on you so I could be at ease."

"No need for ’Miss Wu,’ it’s too formal, just call me Taotao. I also call you Yingzi, Jin Yingzi, Ningwan – isn’t that a Chinese medicine?" Wu Taotao asked curiously.

Ye Ningwan nodded, "Yes, Jin Yingzi is a traditional Chinese medicine."

"What does it treat?" Wu Taotao asked.

Jin Yingzi blushed.

Ye Ningwan explained, "In any case, you won’t need it. Alright, let’s drop this. Since you’re here today, stay for dinner. What do you want to eat? I’ll have the kitchen prepare."

Upon hearing about food, Wu Taotao immediately forgot the previous topic and began ordering dishes.

She was a frequent guest at the Zhan Family, so she was familiar with the chef’s specialties.

Mr. Zhan returned and when he heard Young Madam’s guests had arrived, he guessed it was Wu Taotao.

Being familiar with Wu Taotao, he immediately went to find Ye Ningwan.

Jin Yingzi saw him entering and was initially startled, then blushed and lowered her head, afraid to look at him.

Mr. Zhan noticed the other girl in the dining room besides Wu Taotao but didn’t mind and went straight to Ye Ningwan.

"Wait a moment, I have something for you," Mr. Zhan whispered in Ye Ningwan’s ear.

Ye Ningwan nodded and then introduced with a smile, "Mr. Zhan, this is Jin Yingzi, my classmate. It was she who found my phone and talked to you last time."

"Thank you for last time," Mr. Zhan thanked Jin Yingzi quietly, slightly furrowing his brow, "Later, I’ll have the housekeeper prepare a gift for you to take when you leave."

Jin Yingzi showed a fearful expression, unsure what to say.

Wu Taotao quickly tugged Jin Yingzi and whispered, "Quickly thank Mr. Zhan."

"Tha...thank you!"

"Enjoy your meal, I won’t interrupt." Mr. Zhan departed.

Jin Yingzi relaxed after he left, as if he’d been a terrifying sight.

Wu Taotao looked at her timid demeanor and couldn’t help but laugh, "Are you so afraid of him? He’s not a tiger, can’t eat you, can he?"

"He’s the Great Demon King," Jin Yingzi said softly.

"Ah, what?" Wu Taotao didn’t hear clearly.

Ye Ningwan heard it, thought of the name she’d lovingly marked Mr. Zhan with, and couldn’t help but blush and lightly cough.

"Ningwan, what’s your relationship with him?" Jin Yingzi asked curiously.

"We’re husband and wife," Ye Ningwan replied.

Jin Yingzi widened her eyes, "You... you’re married?"

"Yes," Ye Ningwan nodded.

Jin Yingzi bit her lip, her expression complex as she looked at her.

Wu Taotao laughed, "What, are you prejudiced against married people?"

Jin Yingzi quickly shook her head, "Of course not, just... surprised!"
