Chapter 94: Call Me Husband Obediently
CHAPTER 94: CHAPTER 94: CALL ME HUSBAND OBEDIENTLY
When Jin Yingzi was leaving, Housekeeper Wu gave her a parting gift.
Of course, Wu Taotao didn’t miss out either; both of them received one.
Jin Yingzi didn’t want it, but Wu Taotao said, "It’s okay, Mr. Zhan is the richest man in Jiangcheng. If you refuse his gift, it’s like looking down on him."
"Thank you." Jin Yingzi had no choice but to accept and express her gratitude.
After they left the Zhan Family, they opened the gifts and found that each received a shopping card worth ten thousand yuan, along with treats - the ones they had eaten today at the Zhan Family’s house and praised as delicious.
"This... is too valuable." Jin Yingzi said nervously.
She had never seen so much money in her life.
Wu Taotao said, "It’s fine, just accept it! To Zhan Hanjue, it’s nothing. He just wants to show his gratitude, and if you don’t accept it, he’ll feel indebted."
Wu Taotao thought, a ten-thousand-yuan shopping card is nothing. Zhan Hanjue previously even casually gifted her a painting by Shen Yuanyuan, worth millions.
"I didn’t expect Ye Ningwan to marry such a wealthy man." Jin Yingzi sighed wistfully.
Wu Taotao hugged her, "Who cares if he’s rich or not, as long as we stay good friends with Ningning. Besides, there are perks, like sneaking over for a bite or two, tee-hee."
Jin Yingzi chuckled awkwardly, and the two left together.
After Ye Ningwan saw off her two friends, she went to find Zhan Hanjue.
Zhan Hanjue asked her to come to him, saying he had something to give her, though she didn’t know what it was.
However, once she entered the study, Zhan Hanjue looked up and gave her a glance, beckoning her over.
The atmosphere felt off.
Ye Ningwan furrowed her brows.
Why did he seem a bit angry?
"Are you angry?" Ye Ningwan walked up to Zhan Hanjue and asked.
Zhan Hanjue said, "You can actually tell I’m angry."
Ye Ningwan raised an eyebrow, trying to recall what might have upset him today.
"Surely, you’re not mad just because I brought friends over for dinner, right?" Ye Ningwan said.
Zhan Hanjue replied, "I wouldn’t mind if you brought an entire village over for dinner. I’m upset because of what you called me."
"Called you?" Ye Ningwan was surprised.
Zhan Hanjue grabbed her wrist and pulled her onto his lap.
Ye Ningwan fell onto his legs.
Zhan Hanjue encircled her waist, sternly asking, "What did you call me earlier?"
"When?"
Ye Ningwan immediately recalled it, but pretended to be confused.
"When you were having dinner with your friends," Zhan Hanjue reminded her.
"What did I call you? ...Hubby?"
Ye Ningwan giggled, leaning close to whisper softly in his ear.
Zhan Hanjue shivered; her "hubby" was like a feather gently teasing his heart, making it itch intolerably.
He couldn’t help but block her lips with his own, kissing her passionately and dominantly.
"Still angry?"
After parting, Ye Ningwan blushed, her arms wrapped around his neck as she asked.
"Vixen."
Zhan Hanjue couldn’t help but smack her backside and scold with a mixture of love and anger.
Ye Ningwan giggled and snuggled into his arms.
Zhan Hanjue took a deep breath, holding her tightly, and said in a low voice, "From now on, you can only call me hubby, not by my full name."
"No way, I can’t say that in front of others, it’s too embarrassing," Ye Ningwan pouted playfully.
Zhan Hanjue thought for a moment and said, "Then call me Hanjue, but not Zhan Hanjue."
Addressing him by his full name felt too distant.
"Alright!" Ye Ningwan agreed, but then quickly asked, "You mentioned a gift; what is it?"
Zhan Hanjue asked her to get up, opened a drawer, and took out a box, presenting it to her as he opened it.
"A century-old wild ginseng?" Ye Ningwan recognized it at once.
Zhan Hanjue laughed, "You’ve got sharp eyes, recognizing it’s wild with just one look."
"Of course, wild ones are different from cultivated ones, this is a rare treasure. It’s even better than the one you gave me last time. Where did you get it?" Ye Ningwan asked excitedly.
Zhan Hanjue said, "If you want it, it can always be found."
"Great, this will be excellent for medicine," Ye Ningwan said.
Zhan Hanjue asked curiously, "Are you making medicine for someone else?"
Lately, he’d noticed her growing herbs herself, constantly sourcing medicinal materials, and spending all her time in the pharmacy experimenting as if she was researching some medicine.
Ye Ningwan nodded, "My master owed a favor, and promised to help a family treat their son. After my master passed away, it’s my turn to repay the favor. The person’s illness is hard to treat, and for years it’s been managed with various precious herbs. As it’s a favor repayment, I can’t charge them medical fees, so I’ve been paying for the herbs myself all these years, and I don’t even know how much I’ve spent."
"Who deserves such effort from you?" Zhan Hanjue asked, slightly jealous.
Ye Ningwan laughed, "You’re jealous? I don’t even know who they are, never met them, why would you be jealous?"
Upon hearing that she never even met the person, Zhan Hanjue felt relieved.
"From now on, if you need any material, let me know, I’ll have Chen Tan get it."
"Okay." Ye Ningwan nodded, then hugged his neck and kissed his cheek, "Thank you, hubby!"
The word "hubby" made Zhan Hanjue feel tingly all over.
Standing up, he picked her up by the waist and said in a husky voice, "If you really want to thank me, be good."
"I’ve always been good, how am I not?" Ye Ningwan teased, wriggling against him.
Zhan Hanjue’s passion was stirred by her wriggling, and lightly patted her, "If you keep wriggling, I’ll have to deal with you."

Back at school, Ye Ningwan noticed her classmates looking at her with curiosity and awe.
But no one dared to talk to her, let alone ask about Huang Yunmeng and Zhao Wei.
Their class already had few people, and now there were two less.
"Ningwan, the classmates seem to be afraid of you, I heard them gossiping privately. They said..."
"Said what?" Ye Ningwan asked.
Jin Yingzi pursed her lips, "They said Zhao Wei and Huang Yunmeng left because of you."
Ye Ningwan laughed, "As if I have that ability, don’t listen to their nonsense. These people, they make a mountain out of a molehill. They shouldn’t be in the Traditional Medicine Department, they should transfer to the Journalism Department to do gossip news."
Jin Yingzi laughed and nodded.
"Ye Ningwan."
Wen Jianan suddenly called out to her.
Ye Ningwan and Jin Yingzi were heading to the cafeteria when they stopped at Wen Jianan’s call.
Wen Jianan walked over.
Jin Yingzi softly greeted, "Class Monitor."
Wen Jianan ignored her and said to Ye Ningwan, "I want to talk to you."
Ye Ningwan raised an eyebrow, "Why should I?"
"What do you mean why?" Wen Jianan asked angrily.
Ye Ningwan sneered, "What I mean is, why should I agree to talk just because you want to? Who do you think you are? On what grounds are you talking to me? As the class monitor? Or as Professor Wen’s son?"
