He affirmed again, “I am your father, Daniel Wood.”

Ellen merely glanced at her and didn’t respond.

Daisy’s smile gradually became awkward.

Daniel couldn’t stand it anymore and spoke up, “We’ve come to take you back to the Wood Family. You are my daughter and can’t keep staying here. What would people say?”

“Why is it any of your business where I live? Do I need your permission?” Ellen raised her eyebrows, “You say I’m your daughter; well then, I’d like to ask you, why wasn’t I raised in the Wood Family? You abandoned me for twenty-four years, how come you never thought to look for me before, and now you have?”

Daniel’s face suddenly changed, becoming somewhat sheepish, “It was an accident that we lost you back then…”

“Oh, is that so?”

Ellen smiled, “That person must’ve demanded quite a sum to keep their mouth shut, right?”

Daniel Wood stiffened.

Daisy was also confused.
