Chapter 174 - 174 0174 I dont like you_1
Chapter 174: 0174 I don’t like you_1 Chapter 174: 0174 I don’t like you_1 Blackie had a peculiar habit.
If Ellen left the door open, it didn’t care who came in.
But if the door was closed and someone came in from outside, it would start barking.
It really was quite protective of its owner.
Ruffy heard the little black dog barking and sneered with narrowed eyes, “What are you barking at?”
The little black dog didn’t understand and kept barking at him, woof woof woof.
With its teeth bared, it even looked somewhat ferocious.
Ellen shouted, “Stop barking.”
Blackie closed its mouth, wagged its tail, and without a care in the world, ran off to chase a chicken.
Ruffy: “…”
This dog really knows how to play to the crowd.
He opened the door and came in, and Ellen looked at him, “I’m busy with my own things; what are you doing here?”
Ruffy looked at her, and seeing her face so calm, blinked his eyes, “Really?”
Ellen: “Are you here to ask about the stuff on the Internet?”
Ruffy licked his teeth with the tip of his tongue, “You knew?”
He had been raging when he saw that rumor, mainly because his Ellen was so high above all this—how could she be maligned by such rumors?
In the past, people had tried to malign her when she was on the program, but he had let it pass; however, spreading rumors had crossed his bottom line.
If he could deal mercilessly with Edward Wood, what about those people on the Internet?
“Clinton sent a message.”
Ellen thought for a moment, “He will handle it.”
“You’ll never have peace if you keep appearing on that program,” Ruffy frowned, “Otherwise, stop going. The penalty for breaking the contract is no problem for you, and I’ll help smooth things over with your sister about the follow-up issues.”
“The problem is not there,” Ellen raised her head to look at him, propping her chin, “Integrity. I have never reneged on a promise, and I anticipated these things when I agreed to do the program. If I didn’t want to record, I wouldn’t have agreed. Clinton knows how to handle it. Why care about what others say? Those words have no impact on me at all, and I don’t even know who they are.”
When Ruffy heard her say this, he wasn’t surprised; he came in front of Ellen and squatted down, his gaze somewhat deep as he looked at her, “I thought you’d say that.”
She indeed was someone who valued credibility.
She would fulfill her promises, and nobody could force her into things she didn’t want to do.
When he squatted in front of Ellen, it made him look a bit lower than her, she looked down at him, and said indifferently, “These matters are all being taken care of by Clinton. You don’t need to worry. Like this, you seem too eager.”
“Do you not know why I’m being so eager? Can you really not know?”
A smile spread across his face; it seemed somewhat mocking, and the words appeared almost bitten off the tip of his tongue: “Ellen, what do you think, for a man like me to disregard face and want to climb into your bed at twenty-two? What could be the reason?”
If it wasn’t for affection, who would do such a thing?
Ruffy only knew how much he liked Ellen, even if she hadn’t accepted it at the time, that didn’t matter.
Ellen simply looked at him, her delicate face maintaining its usual calm, and even the words she spoke were so calm and natural: “I don’t like you.”
Some truths needed to be said. At least, she had never had feelings for Ruffy.
She had never had feelings for anyone.
“I know that.”
The man’s low voice carried calmness, yet despite that, he felt as if his heart was being tugged at with a faint, spreading pain.
Minuscule, not fatal, but still uncomfortable.
