CHAPTER 112: SPELL CRAFTED. ARCHMAGE RANK!

Alex stared at the lifeless body in his hand, he was speechless. Why did this person decide to commit suicide instead of trying to survive? It was just too ridiculous; now, his only lead to solve the case of the missing people was gone.

What Alex didn’t know was that the Dark Union had given an order to all of their members to commit suicide once they were captured by Mr Chen since it was near impossible to escape from him, considering everything that they had learned about him.

The members of the Dark Union were so crazy that they actually followed such barbaric instructions. They believed it was better to end their own lives than to be captured and tortured for information while waiting to be rescued.

Alex stored the corpse of the man in his storage ring before leaving the place. Since the person wasn’t a living being anymore, the storage ring could now store it.

Alex used the Void walk skill and directly appeared inside the Union building, startling everyone again.

Owen quickly came down to receive him and Alex once again asked him to gather all of the leading people in the Union branch.

In a bit, Alex and the two elders and three sub-elders of the Union branch were once again gathered in the meeting room.

After everyone was complete, Alex took out the corpse of the kidnapper and dropped it on the ground.

Everyone was shocked by this and looked at Mr Chen with unsettled expressions.

Was Mr Chen going around killing people now? How were they supposed to react to this?

Noticing their expressions, Alex explained what had happened. Of course, he made some adjustments.

He said that he was coming to the Union building when he noticed this person kidnapping a kid from the street without being noticed.

When he apprehended the kidnapper, the other person committed suicide instead of facing him.

After listening to this, Lance and the others let out sighs of relief. They were glad that it wasn’t Mr Chen who killed this person, that would put them in a different position since it wasn’t easy to identify the members of the Dark Union.

When asked about the kid who was being kidnapped, Alex said that the kid ran away after he was freed; he didn’t remember the kid’s face either.

Well, that wasn’t important.

"We are very grateful for your assistance, Mr Chen. Now we have somewhere to start from in our investigation." Silvia said with a grateful bow. They said that they were going to investigate this corpse’s identity and might find more leads on the case; they would inform him once they noticed anything.

Alex left the Union building after that as he still planned to head outside the border and farm exp.

Days passed by quickly, 5 days later.

It was Saturday and Alex had once again come outside the borders of Balon City to farm exp points.

He stood on top of a large pointed rock, facing a vast plain that was covered in brown rocks. From here, he could sense hundreds of magic beasts by just spreading out his mage senses.

Alex summoned his system profile and looked at his exp points.

"Just a bit more," Alex mumbled to himself as he stared at his profile, he had gotten over 40k exp points over the past few days and was now very close to getting 50k for the spell that he wanted to craft.

He was certain that he would be able to complete the required exp points by the end of the day.

After retrieving his system profile, Alex shot into the air with a powerful leap.

Boom!

The force of his jump directly shattered the upper layer of the rock he was standing on previously as a loud sound echoed through the place.

Alex found his first group of magic beasts after moving for just a few hundred meters.

It was a group of twenty-one-eyed cats, all of them showing their fangs at Alex immediately after they spotted him.

Alex slowly stretched his arm towards them as silver-white stars appeared behind him and formed a large star constellation.

"Space cut," Alex mumbled silently as his eyes glowed with a white light behind his mask.

The next moment, the space of ten meters where some of the magic beasts were standing suddenly disappeared into a small crater, and the magic beasts disappeared as well.

It was as if an invisible large mouth had bitten that portion away from the ground and swallowed the cats in the process. In one instance, six of the one-eyed cats had been killed, and notifications appeared in front of Alex.

Alex didn’t stop there and used space cut three times in a roll and cleaned up the remaining magic beasts before they could even react as they vanished into thin air.

Alex had lost count of how many magic beasts he had killed during the past few days; both his storage ring and space pocket were filled to the brim and couldn’t take in even a pebble anymore, so Alex didn’t bother with keeping the corpses of the magic beasts that he killed anymore.

He hadn’t returned to the Union building during the past few days, so he had not gotten the chance to sell off the corpses in his storage; this was because he had been farming exp till very late during the past days and would only return just a few hours before his parents began to worry. This was why he didn’t get the chance to go to the Union building lately but he was fine with this.

After killing the one-eyed cats, Alex made his way toward the next group of magic beasts. Thoughts of what had happened during the past days flashed through his mind.

The competition in the academy had ended, and the five people who would be representing the academy in the all-academy star tournament had been decided.

What shocked everyone was that Laura suddenly stopped coming to the academy after her fight with Glen; she didn’t show up for the final competition. It was later revealed by the vice dean that Laura’s father had removed her from the academy.

Even the vice dean and teachers had not expected such an outcome. Due to Laura leaving the academy, the school had decided to give Glen the spot since he was undoubtedly the best choice after they found out he was a Core mage like Laura.

Now, the five people who would be representing the academy were Alex, Glen, the third-year student whose name was Amelia and who had the plant element, and two other fourth-year students.

Outside the matters of the academy, Alex also noticed that nobody had come to bother his family during the past few days. It was as if they had stopped all of their plans after that kidnapper died in his hands, the outskirts were relatively peaceful these past days.

Regarding the Rising Wave group, Mia had allowed Alex to skip all of his missions after he requested some time off to settle some other matters. Mia knew that the tournament was coming up and Alex had qualified, she assumed that he wanted to train and prepare for the tournament so she didn’t burden him with the group’s missions.

This had given Alex all the time he needed to farm exp outside the border.

The group also didn’t go on any raids this week as the experience from the last one had not washed away completely.

Back to the present, Alex had reached the next group of magic beasts.

"Telekinesis!"

"Space cut!"

"Space bullets!"

"Lightning strike!"

"Lightning bolt!"

Alex immediately rained a barrage of spells on the magic beasts, killing all of the magic beasts in less than five seconds.

Star patterns and star constellations flashed in the air constantly at a blinding speed, the connecting process was less than a second!

Hours passed and it was now evening.

Alex sat on top of a large beast corpse as he summoned his system profile.

A wave of excitement exploded within Alex after crafting the spell successfully. As for the requirements needed to cast it, Alex wasn’t bothered in the slightest since he still had 200 exp points.

Alex immediately levelled up twice.
