CHAPTER 155: HUMAN FORM OF A MAGIC BEAST

"Domain of the lightning emperor!" Alex called out the spell’s name as his eyes blazed with purple light.

The six purple star constellations that had formed above him floated higher into the air and expanded, covering a wide range of over eight hundred meters. If one were to look up at the sky from the ground within the range of the star constellations, all that they would see were the dazzling purple stars that had linked together; it was impossible to see the sky from here.

The windrend that had just crashed into the ground rose from the gigantic pit its body had created and wanted to flee.

But a ferocious bolt of lightning shot down from the star constellations above it and struck it on the back.

BOOM!

The hit from the lightning was deafening as it slammed the windrend back into the ground and broke off several of its hard feathers.

The windrend was relentless as it tried to fly in another direction but another bolt of lightning struck from that side as well and blasted it into the ground further.

The shockwave from the commotion was spreading in all directions. The pit now looked like a canyon after Alex blasted the windrend into the ground several times with lightning bolts.

This was the use of this spell, Domain of the lightning emperor. With those six constellations in the air, Alex could summon any form of lightning attacks with just a thought and from any location within their range.

This was why the windrend was unable to flee even after tens of attempts. Although its speed was faster than Alex’s, Alex’s eyes were perfectly able to keep up with its movements and his thoughts were even faster. This allowed him to blast the huge bird before it could even spread its wings.

After receiving several blasts of lightning bolts, countless pieces of broken feathers could be seen scattered all over the canyon that the wind had created with its body.

Many parts of the windrend had turned featherless, and its bird skin underneath was severely scorched.

Still, the six star constellations hovered in the air above it like six purple suns.

The windrend finally gave up on escaping, it was unable to bear the torture anymore and wanted to just stay here and cry.

It was a powerful Divine rank beast, a ruler of the sky and commander of the wind. Not even Grand Archmages could treat it like this, how did it meet this freak?!

"Stop! Stop! I won’t try to run awayanymore!" The crisp voice of the windrend echoed through the air when it saw the purple constellations glowing brighter, another lightning bolt was about to descend!

Alex still sent the lightning bolt down anyways.

BOOM!

Another lightning bolt struck the windrend, causing it to cry out in pain.

"Damnit, stop attacking me, you despicable human!" It cursed out angrily.

But what reason did Alex have to listen to it? The other party was a powerful magic beast and could get him a lot of money, so he wanted to kill it!

However, just as Alex was about to send down another attack, he saw something that made his eyes flash with surprise.

The body of the windrend excluded a weak light before it began to transform. Its enormous body shrank quickly.

Alex was stunned by this scene and paused in his attack as he watched the windrend reduce its size. After a few seconds, the beast had finished shrinking its body and now had a different form compared to its original appearance.

Alex blinked, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Average height, slender body, rough but long black hair, a beautiful, small, round face with sharp eyes, and a black dress covering her body. The windrend had transformed to a stunning teenage girl!

If Alex hadn’t seen it transformed with his own eyes, he would have mistaken it for a real human being! Not a single feature of its former appearance could be seen; only the multiple bruises and burns on her body were questionable but that could easily be ignored.

Alex stood on the edge of the canyon and stared at the now-humanoid windrend who was sitting in the centre of the canyon.

"How did you do that?" Alex asked, unable to hold back his curiosity. Hearing a magic beast speak human language was already shocking enough, and now it had taken the form of a human; could there be other magic beasts in the city, too, who were pretending to be human?

"Do what?" The windrend asked back, its voice was soft and very girly.

This made Alex feel uncomfortable hearing a magic beast speak like a real human, it looked the same age as his sister.

"How did you transform into this form?" He questioned.

"Why are you asking me that? Isn’t it normal for magic beasts to have human form as we grow stronger?" The windrend asked with her head tilted to the side, Alex’s question confused her.

Alex didn’t reply but exclaimed to himself, so that’s why. Magic beasts can take human form after reaching a certain level of strength, which makes sense.

He had read the same thing in plenty of novels after all.

"But why do you look like that?" Alex asked again.

"Look like what? Is something strange with my appearance?" The windrend looked at herself, wondering what Alex meant.

"Young, why do you look like a young girl?" Alex stated.

The windrend "..."

So not only did this human bully her physically, but he was now trying to bully her emotionally as well?! Were all humans this mean?

"Of course I look like this, I’m still very young amongst other windrend and this is my other form!" The windrend shrieked.

"Oh, so you’re a female? Thought you were an old male bird." Alex exclaimed, he was teasing the bird this time.

The face of the windrend froze after hearing Alex’s words, her face slowly turned red and she suddenly burst into tears.

Alex "..."

This Divine-rank beast was crying?

"Stop crying right now," Alex said coldly, he wasn’t in the mood to babysit a magic beast. The star constellations in the sky released their destructive aura as Alex said those words, signalling that they could strike at any moment.

The windrend immediately stopped crying and composed herself, she blinked at Alex with a forced calm smile.

"Good, now change back to your real form," Alex ordered after the beast stopped crying.

"Why?"

"So I can continue to attack you," Alex said with a matter-of-fact tone.

He was still very interested in selling the beast’s corpse and mana core of this windrend, so he wanted it to transform back to its bird form. It would be a headache if he killed it in its human form, and the corpse didn’t transform back. What was he supposed to do by then?

Bring the body to the Union building and explain that it was the corpse of a Divine rank beast.

Even he would not believe himself as the windrend, currently looks just like a teenage girl, nothing about it resembles a magic beast.

So he needed it to change back before he could kill it.
