CHAPTER 157: ALICIA

[Ding! Do you wish to cancel the crafting process of Space Spell — Space Vortex?]

"Eh?" Alex didn’t expect to see such a notification, it seems like the system could not craft two spells simultaneously.

Alex still wanted to craft the space vortex spell so he didn’t give permission for the system to cancel the crafting process.

After making the system window disappear, he looked at the windrend still sitting on the ground inside the canyon and asked her to come out.

The windrend didn’t delay and jumped out of the canyon, the bruises on her body were healing at an impressive speed.

"Alicia greets master." The windrend bowed, showing her respect to the human in front of her.

It turned out she had a name and her name was Alicia.

Alex ignored her action and told her to transform into her bird form so that he could ride it while continuing the other reason that he had come out of the city today, which was to farm exp points for the spell that he wanted to craft.

Alicia immediately turned fearful and suspicious when Alex asked her to transform into her bird form again. Was he still going to attack her even after she became his mount?

"W-why? I can heal faster in this form." Alice said in a begging tone.

Alex raised an eyebrow behind his mask, wondering why she sounded so afraid.

Was he that scary?

Still, he gave her his reason and that was his plan to hunt magic beasts. He wanted to ride her for the experience.

As for why he wanted to hunt magic beasts, he didn’t need to explain himself to her.

Alicia blinked, feeling that Alex wasn’t trustworthy. She refused to and begged to just follow him like this, she would even help him to hunt other magic beasts. She could still use her wind abilities even in her human form and her physical strength wasn’t any weaker than that of an Archmage.

From fear that Alex might remain persistent, she claimed that she didn’t have enough energy to transform back and would take a long time to do so.

Alex didn’t know anything about magic beasts in this regard so he could not tell if Alicia was lying or not. After a long intense stare that made the windrend feel very uncomfortable, Alex turned away and began to walk.

He told the black haired Alicia to follow him, he would take her along while he looked for magic beasts.

Alicia let out a deep sigh of relief and immediately chased after Alex, she wasn’t against him hunting other magic beasts since magic beasts naturally killed each other for food as well.

The two of them soon vanished into the distance as Alex began his exp farming session.

Hours after they left the area where the canyon had formed, three figures arrived at the edge of the canyon while riding on a magic shuttle that floated a few meters off the ground.

The two looked at the huge crater on the ground with shock on their faces.

A while ago, the wind had suddenly stopped, and the weather returned to normal. This allowed the travelling speed of the three to increase greatly, and they were able to rush over at this time in hopes of meeting the figure whom they had speculated was Mr Chen.

Even from afar, they were able to hear the sounds of battle but the clash had ended rather quickly considering the strength of the magic beast.

After getting here, all they saw was a gigantic canyon that was bird-shaped. Neither Mr Chen nor the beast that had created this canyon could be seen anywhere.

"We were late, Mr Chen left already." Clint voiced out with a serious expression as he stared at the canyon that was dozens of kilometres wide, shock was evident in his eyes.

"Mr Chen appears even more powerful than we imagined, to be able to take out a beast that is at the Divine rank by himself; it being a winged beast makes it even more unbelievable, just how strong is Mr Chen?" William exclaimed.

Everyone naturally knew that magic beasts that were capable of flight were the hardest creatures to go against as they could easily escape into the air whenever they wanted. To be able to chase down and kill one that was so powerful would require unimaginable strength!

"Could Mr Chen be at the Grand Archmage rank or even the Sage rank?" The Archmage mumbled with a determined glint in his eyes. He couldn’t give up, he had to meet Mr Chen at all costs and invite him to join the magic university!

The three continued to observe the canyon. After some time, they realised that there were only broken feathers scattered across the place, which were most likely from the magic beast; there was no blood anywhere.

Could it be that Mr Chen didn’t kill the beast and had captured it instead? That would be even more insane than killing it!

After hours of accompanying Alex to hunt magic beasts, the horror that Alicia felt toward him had only continued to increase.

The things she saw him do terrified her. His speed of casting high-ranked spells, the amount of spells he could cast in a span of seconds, his brutality, and most of all, the fact that he kept using two different elements without a pause, terrified her!

She was extremely grateful that she was a bird and had some value in Alex’s eyes, which was why he had spared her; she couldn’t imagine any scenario of her surviving if she couldn’t be used as a mount.

She didn’t dare to make a sound and just silently followed behind Alex like an obedient servant girl. He had instructed her not to attack any beast that they came across, so she had nothing to do but watch the scary show that Alex was displaying to her.

He would kill and then store the corpses of the beasts with a space spell.

Maybe he was showing her that he had an unlimited number of ways to make her disappear if she misbehaved?

But the truth was that Alex just didn’t want to waste any exp. The system wouldn’t count the kill for him if it wasn’t killed by someone else, so he had to do all the work by himself and have Alicia watch from the side.

If that wasn’t the case, he would have gladly walked at the back and made Alicia do all the killing for him.

After hours of farming exp points, Alex had long lost count of the number of magic beasts he had killed. Thankfully, the system was a great record keeper and had calculated all of his exp points for him.

His farming speed had increased once again. Of course, it was only because there were more magic beasts in the areas that he had gone to.

Without hesitation, he summoned the system’s window and opened the craftsman skill panel.

Alicia was confused as to why this robed human had stopped moving but she didn’t dare to disturb him and just stood there quietly while thinking about her life.

Was getting married as scary as following this dangerous freak of a human around?

If she were given a second chance, would she still run away from home or gladly get married?
