Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors
Chapter 159: Oath of lightning, Promises
CHAPTER 159: OATH OF LIGHTNING, PROMISES
Due to how powerful this masked human was and how he had been scaring her, Alicia had thought that Alex was an extremely old man who was almost at the end of his life and had taken a path in some dark magic experiment which was how he was able to use two elements instead of the usual one.
Also, topics like dark magic experiments were usually involved with hideous side effects such as the experiment affecting the face or causing health problems to the person involved.
This had further led to her imagination of Alex being an old man with a very scary or unsightly face, which is why he wore that white mask around. Plus, his scary attitude didn’t help change her thoughts but strengthened them instead.
So when Alex finally took off his mask and revealed his face, Alicia was shocked beyond words upon seeing him. He wasn’t some cruel-looking old man who was at the end of his life as she had expected; instead, he was a very handsome human male and looked extremely young!
He looked only a few years older than her human form!. ’Could this be the effect of another one of his experiments?’ Alicia thought to herself, unable to accept that Alex’s current face was real.
"W-why do you look like that?" Alicia, unable to hold herself back despite how much she fears Alex, blurted out the question.
"Like what?" Alex asked back with a raised eyebrow. Wondering whether he was supposed to look like a sheep to the windrend.
"Like that, a young adult human," Alicia explained.
Alex stared at her blankly before responding that it was because he was a young adult human and wasn’t even 20 years old yet.
Alicia "..."
Impossible! How could that be? How can a human who isn’t even 20 years old be so strong? Not even those from big families in other advanced cities were so powerful.
Alicia didn’t believe Alex in the slightest and told herself that he was lying to her for some reason.
Alex saw the conflicted expression on the face of the windrend but didn’t bother elaborating any further, he instructed her to come over again in his usual cold tone.
Alicia flinched.
’Right, he’s definitely lying!’ she screamed in her thoughts as she approached Alex before stopping in front of him, a space of a few feet between them.
Alicia stared at Alex nervously, wondering what he was about to do next.
Meanwhile, Alex took a deep breath as his eyes slowly changed colour and adopted a purple glow.
The oath of lightning was a Sage rank spell, Alex had never cast a Sage rank spell nor heard of the medium required for it.
But he didn’t have to worry himself about that, as long as he thought of the spell that he wanted to cast, the system would take care of the rest.
With that in mind, Alex thought of the new spell that he had just crafted.
The next moment, purple stars began to appear around him and Alicia. They appeared so quickly that Alex and Alicia were soon surrounded by countless stars. In the next second, it was as if they were standing inside a star system.
Not just Alicia, even Alex was shocked by the number of purple stars that had appeared.
The stars then proceeded to connect with each other, all of them moving at the same time to make the forming of whatever was required for a Sage rank spell to be complete.
Without even needing to blink once, Alicia and Alex saw the countless stars form into twenty star constellations!
It didn’t end there, the star constellations then moved around each other, sending out purple energy tendrils that connected them with one another and formed a single, larger cluster of stars.
A star Nebula!
For a moment, Alex and Alicia were lost in amazement as they stared at the gigantic cluster of stars in the air above them. It had totally blocked off a large portion of the sky from their view and covered an area of several kilometres in its purple radiance.
This star Nebula was made up of over a hundred purple stars of the lightning element!
One to remember that at the Adept mage rank, a mage required five stars to form a single star pattern for their spells.
At the Core mage rank, the requirement doubles, and they now need to form two-star patterns, which would need ten stars.
At the mage rank, it becomes 25 stars for five star patterns which was a single star constellation. The number of stars and constellations continued to increase from there.
Right now, twenty star constellations were forming the purple star Nebula above them. If the numbers were correct, that star Nebula was made up of five hundred purple stars!
It was...breathtaking.
After admiring the star Nebula for some time, Alex snapped back to his senses and moved his gaze back to Alicia.
Although the star Nebula had required five hundred stars to form into lots of star patterns and then further form into twenty star constellations, the entire process had still been extremely quick and had taken only a single second for the star Nebula to be formed.
This was the system’s casting speed.
"Oath of lightning," Alex mumbled the name of the spell after calming down.
Right after his voice fell, the star Nebula flickered with an even brighter glow before exploding into countless lightning bolts that fell down.
Before reaching the ground, the lightning bolts moved and weaved between themselves, forming a massive lightning ball between the two. It looked like they were inside a gigantic lightning orb but it wasn’t hurting them for some reason.
Alex, for some reason, knew that the spell was already working and he could now proceed with what had to be done next.
The oath of lightning was like making a promise to each other in the presence of lightning, the violator would face lightning tribulations if they went back on their promise.
Although this spell was to bind two beings, Alicia didn’t know about these conditions so Alex could use this to his advantage and didn’t need to make any promises to her.
Then, he began to tell Alicia about himself. His ability to use two elements, his dual identity as Mr Chen and also Alex, and he also told her about his family and that they didn’t know any of these things that he just mentioned.
Alicia was almost shocked to the point that her soul nearly k
Left her body after she listened to Alex’s words.
So, he wasn’t lying and was really a young human who was under 20 years old and was already so powerful with two elements? What sort of a monster was this?!
After saying all of these, Alex then told Alicia to promise that she would keep all of the things he just told her to herself, not to tell anyone even if her life was being threatened; and not even his parents or those around him, a single word must not leave her mouth.
Sure, Alicia was already horrified by everything that Alex was doing. If promising him that she would die with his secret would allow her to rest earlier, then she would.
Alicia casually promised to keep Alex’s secrets to herself and not even allow her shadow to hear about them.
Right after she made the promise, a series of thunder blasts set off around the gigantic lightning orb.
Alicia felt that something wasn’t right after hearing those lightning blasts. Why did she feel like she had just placed a sharp knife on her own neck?
